Gmap and Levels Issue

So I have level1.nw and level2.nw, both have warps linking to each other.

In the gmap I have them listed (height 1, width 2), and the levels listed in 1 row.

level1.nw and level2.nw are uploaded into levels folder
gmap is uploaded to gmaps folder
server ops is updated

warping to the level, it seems to work fine but after a few minutes..the gmap seems to stop updating the levels. Player's movements/chats are not real time, everyone sees each other as frozen in one spot even though we are moving. "update level" fixes it temporarily. What is wrong? It seems like the level is not updating itself and we can't see anyone move or chat...

They don't actually need warp links to eachother. Someone will tell you the solution, I always forget what it is.

They do need links. Well, wise decision anyway.

took out the warps in the level1.nw and level2.nw, gmaps still work well connected to each other..however the problem still exists, after a few minutes people just stop moving and everything stops updating.

Is your gmap folder setup properly in folderconfig?

level *.gmap
file *.gmap
Level links won't make a difference, I do know that they're not required although I won't argue with Crow (he's developed a hell of a lot more than me recently, lol).

When players are on the gmap, does the external RC report their level name or the gmap name? Post the gmap file itself here, I can see if there's a problem with it.

  • is the GMAP file defined by folder config as both a file and a level?
  • What do you see when you do "/find mymap.gmap"?
  • In RC's playerlist, do the players show as on the GMAP (mymap.gmap) or on a level (mymap_00-00.nw)?
