RemoteControl2 ~ Working with Ubuntu 11.10

Ever since I have switched to ubuntu, I've found every aspect of the OS amazing. Just one thing really bugs me. I want to be able to manage my server, but I can't if I can't use RC! I have to keep myself on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which crashes repeatedly and doesn't support a lot of applications that 11.10 supports.

Works fine on 11.10 for me. Launch it via terminal and post the error messages.

As far as I'm aware 11.10 doesn't contain the package "libgtksourceview1.0-0" in the repository by default so to fix the RC we need to add a repository that does contain the package. The easiest way to fix this is by adding the Universe repository for Natty (11.04).

In a Terminal session enter:

sudo add-apt-repository 'deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty universe'
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libgtksourceview1.0-0

Thanks for updating the wiki! I'm now running 11.10 with none of those crappy freeze bugs from 10.04.03 LTS. Thanks guys.

It was the libgtksourceview error that wasn't letting me launch. I new it was that, and I kept trying to find a way around it.

For future reference encase anyone else has this problem, I was looking at the thread you attached to your first post and the solution Chris stated in the thread would have also fixed the problem:

It is also worth noting that most of the problems with Graal Software on Linux isn't caused by the software but mainly the distribution or lack of dependencies.
