May I ask what you use to make these Java applets?
Also shouldn't "saveing" be "saving"?
Well maybe in america it might be "saveing" not sure, but in Aus its Saving.

They're not applets, and yes it should be saving. The misspelling was from the original author. I noticed it but neglected to correct it when I was making the GUI.

Ahok, fair enough on the spelling error.
But what is used to make Java things like this? I have Java ME SDK 3.0.
Is this adequate?

Almost done with gani rendering:

Also, if anyone familiar with Java could help me figure out how to change the color value of a specified palette index that'd be great. I found out how to replace colors with a new color, but Graal does it via palette index.

He said in his post above that it does.

Might run into an issue if you use math to calculate the x/y though.

I hadn't considered that. I will have to go through eventually and recode it to at least not crash in instances like that, and MAYBE look into a math parser.

I'll probably also start a new thread so I can better document changes and features since I can't access the OP in this thread.

Ended up having to recode a good chunk of the parsing/rendering. Before it had two different functions for rendering a level and gmap, but they both shared the same code. So I took the level renderer and made it spit out an image instead, and now for rendering gmaps it simply calls the nw renderer for each level in the gmap and stitches them together. Before every time I changed the rendering I had to do it to both the gmap and the nw function, and that was a pain. Now it should probably be much easier to make changes to the renderer.

Will fine-tune and update it tomorrow with its own thread.

Have you ever considered Program Engineering as a career choice?
I really think with the motivation you have towards projects you could for sure make alot of money.

Will people still need to set the memory heap to absurd sizes?

Well I was just able to render one of the gmaps I've been testing on NW2PNG at 1:1 without setting the heap size, something I wasn't able to do before. So it has improved a little, but you'll probably still need to for larger maps, yes. Java has JAI, which can work with images without buffers, but I have no experience with it and it'd be a challenge to recode the rendering to that.

Okay, I've added so it parses some basic math. Now I gotta go through and make sure things are in order before an update. I still haven't managed to color bodies yet :/

A preview of the output so far. All I have to do is color bodies and squash a few smaller bugs.

Very nice. Does that head in the water stand for anything you added/needs to get fixed or was it just a test?

Yes but it seems as if you know how to code.
And your doing this free of charge for the benefit of a community right?

Some people like doing nice things. I have happened to give a lot to this community over the years, this is somewhat minor in comparison.
