Make it so you can only put in a price, I don't want to go into Tk's trading area and see "Mhm" and "IDK" and "Er" and "A lot" for every item, if they are selling it in the system, it should be straight forward.

A number price, or "Offer" would suffice, so people don't post profane or meaningless prices.

Also Alphabetical order might be lame, kinda like the yellow pages. Jus' Sayin'. (Once you go through the 800 Graal#'s that you can't identify by account... no one will scroll down to the bottom). Possibly sorting by upgrade status would be cool (small incentives ftw).

Everyone who would ever consider selling an Item has a certain threshold where, when an offer exceeds it, they would sell.

What I mean is, if you're gonna sell an LS, perhaps you'll take anything over 150k. 175k would be nice, but you'll settle for 150

Not having an offer option makes this mentality impossible (Which I'm assuming is what Willa is getting at), which some people might find desirable, to prevent greedy people from making even more money.

Personally, I think having the ability to offer is nice. Why not be ambiguous with our gun sales?

Advertisements are typically listed by the date they're added (earliest first), and people pay extra to stay on top as *Featured* advertisements.

A single list with Item/Price/Quantity/Account would make more sense.

Should also let people search advertisements too.

Thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to include that in the next update.

I'm sorry, I don't know what you're saying. If I was to guess, are you wanting it to be so you can also list what you're wanting to buy?

Okay, I also noticed some of you don't like the alphabetical order for players. What would you prefer? And I could also improve this by changing account names to community names.

Just saying make it so you can do offers, like you put "offer", and people can click that and a box pops up and you type in your offer. Think of it like it saves the offer in a little message, or it sends it via mailbox.

Also community names would save a lot of headache.

Okay, well I'm pretty much finished with the Advertisement Bulletin Board. I'm sure there's still stuff that could be done.

Here's some screen shots:

Not much change here, the moderate button only appears for staff.

This is new, when you push search you'll load all items from the DB as long as you're not searching for anything.

Obvious, just type in anything and you'll see anyone advertising it.

Not much change here, the only difference is Remove and Edit works on the row you have selected.

Edit the selected row, and push save..

Lol, I was going to mention the thing about Capital letters, and the misspelling of "Quantity".

Darn you people.

TK just wants alphabetical order cause his account starts with a B obviously.
--
I think community names would be better than account names (to recognize some of the Graal#'s).
I also think it should sort by account status, since really nothing else on the server matters for that. Plus you don't really want 40 trials at the top selling handguns.

I dunno, I think someone posted earlier about paying some cash to have your advertisement/account at the top of the list. That could be cool too.

I'll give it a shot, The way I have it set up, it might be an issue. But I'll try and do it, most likely i'll have it formatted like this, Tim_Rocks (Graal123456). If that doesn't work, I'll just have to modify the DB table and include a row for community names (which is probably what I'm going to do)....

You shouldn't show the Graal###### at all. It's never necessary for players to see those (with the exception of players who haven't chosen a community name).

There's no reason to change your tables to store redundant data. I know there is already a table that stores every player's account/community name, and updates the community name if it has changed.

Well, I'm just sticking with community name, I'm not doing any of that extra un-needed stuff. I suppose if they update their community name the previous community name already in the DB will just be stuck in there... Unless a staff deletes it.

Uhm, you should not be storing the community name in the table at all unless you're using it in addition to the account. I hope you're keeping in mind that some players don't have community names, and that they can change. The account should be used as an internal identifier. There are already functions available for getting a community name from an account (DB_Names.getCommunityName or something like that iirc) that you should be using.

could use a JOIN operation to get community names in a single query. Assuming the table that stores updated accounts/community names is called 'accounts':

NPC Code:
SELECT bulletin_table.account[, other_rows_you_need], accounts.communityname FROM bulletin_table
LEFT JOIN accounts ON bulletin_table.account = accounts.account;

My SQLite is a bit rusty, but I'm pretty sure the syntax is correct and that it would work without explicitly defining any primary/foreign keys.

Well, here's what I changed tonight (not much), but I fixed the search to find things a little better.

What I'm working on now is limiting your options a little, I'm going to make it so it loads all the items from your inventory, removes spam and or crap.

If only they knew what needed to be done, he might have a slight idea; smh.
Seems like every management was granted with at least one developmental talent that lacked guidance... even yours.

Well, here's what I did tonight, it now loads your inventory.. It still needs some work though, I obviously don't wanna see rented guitars or event coins.

Also to access the advertisement board you'll be able to use the command "/advertise", I disabled it's use in events though, we don't need distracted players during events.
