Changes to Attack Types

Two attacktypes have been changed.

Blinding - Now it has a screen effect making it more difficult to see. It also adjusts your WC to be less effective (note it's an invisible adjustment). Additionally, you cannot use potions, scrolls, or manna leaves while being blinded.

Confusion - Confusion now causes two things. While you're using weapons it can cause you to randomly face the wrong direction, or there is a chance that while casting a spell it will interrupt you and cast a random spell instead (with exception of cancellation). It also makes bows wildly inaccurate.

That blinding effect is brutal, but can be easily avoided by disabling lights. Something should be done to change that.

awesome update, blinding should also slow the player while they're blind (otherwise they can run around wildly).

Mass confusion should cause confusion, but needs to be tested. The only thing is that it doesn't display a message to the hitter when s/he confuses someone.

make people lay down like they're dead, you sure as hell can't stand if you're paralyzed.

4 second stun, thats not enough for a mage to get off another spell on ya but if it's a mage + a warrior that's a deadly combo.

Question: Why does blinding prevent you from eating mana leaves, but not mana crystals?

There needs to be some form of control on them, as if there's little skill involved in magic currently, there's even less when a mage need not concern himself with his sp cap which is platinum limited.

The fact it costs me 2 diamonds for 5 crystals, which gives me 500mp.. which is 10 seconds of casting... It's expensive, gives plat a good sink. If anything make Mana Crystals harder to get.

You're justifying infinite mana by plat cost? Which isn't even all that much since base currency's hardly have any sinks at all.

There needs to be cooldowns in-place for restoration scrolls, mana leaves and mana crystals. With no restraints (with blinding now affecting leaves (??) only crystals have no restraints now) they make players too strong. If i were a mage today, maximizing my mana pool or mana regen would seem to be a useless ambition since i could just focus on platinum and buying crystals and my mana troubles would be completely gone.

Mana crystals are vital. Even with them mages struggle to compete with Warriors, with their magic resist scrolls, etc. Give me something that makes you do 1 damage with every slash and take away your poison and I'll give you mana crystals.

Your ambitions aren't for balance, but for mage superiority. I'm not denying there are inequalities between the classes, that predominately rest with resistances, but infinite mana makes no sense in GK, or any MMO for that matter. And I'm quite certain infinite mana is a taboo, in most games that utilize mana, in general save for very short periods of time at few occurring instances.

Cube's proposal, http://forums.graalonline.com/forums...hp?t=134263382, to have bmode dmg and resists reflect the arena's would solve many current problems but as far as taming magic goes, cooldowns, casting times and magic levels still need to be addressed.

Conserving your mana is a huge part of being a 'caster' in pretty much any game. The entire PVP system needs a serious overhaul.

If magic level increased damage I'd be fine with Mana Crystals being removed, I'd actually stack 30 30 pow/wis, instead of 17 18 w/ 6.5 speed.

It's hard to say it's reasonable that my mana blast costs me 65 MP and it would do the same damage for 15 MP at level 10

No one is calling for Mana Crystals to be removed, they're a good addition to the game. Many mana inclusive games have mana potions. It's just obvious that like with restoration scrolls and mana leaves, they need to be controlled, so that people don't have infinite mana or hp.

Mana crystals haven't always been used in such addictive proportions, and mages have coped. I've fought good mages in the past who haven't needed to resort to spamming their highest mp cost spells and gouging themselves on mana crystals to start the process over.

Infinite mana doesn't solve the problem of magic levels being useless, or resistances and damage not being scaled well, it's just another problem that should be rectified and not be defended by other problems. 'If problem a gets fixed i'll let problem b be fixed'. How about problems just be fixed?
