Era iPhone - Events & Garden Shop

Hiya,

I've been working on an automated events system & well, here it is.

It does an event every 5 minutes, once an event has finished. It costs the player $$$ to enter the event, and the winner receives 80% of the total money that players have put in for.

It's been live for the past 3 hours, and works fine from what I can see, it's fun

(In the screenshot, ignore the (npcserver) [it would crop the name for admins to display account]- the event is Last Man Standing)

There is also a Garden shop that has opened, it sells trees, shrubs, pots, bench & wire fence which you can buy to make your house pretty

So is the primary intention here to provide something fun for players to do around the clock that keeps people on the server and increases the appeal, or is it to gradually remove currency and so increase the chances of people paying in more real money if they do not want to have to spend several hours grinding?

I agree with this, I thought the same thing, though since im pro Im actually making lots of money.(paid maybe 250-300 so far, won like 1200)

The updates that Era Iphone releases are nice. This is just another example on how you improve your server.

I love the event system, though 5 minutes... A long wait to keep players happy, make it like 2.5 mins...

I think having one event every 5 minutes is eventually going to kill the excitement of the event in general. Look at CTF on Classic iPhone for example, nobody goes there anymore and it has the same money making feature. I think it would be more beneficial to reduce it to one event per half-hour at the least.

The events on here are ffa, so more money is paid than CTF on classic iPhone. I won 3 events and I won around about 400 each time (about 1200 total) , so events are a chance to make great money if your good at them, unlike classic iPhone's CTF where you just make 10 gralats if you win, lose 10 if you lose. Besides, since there is more than one event, each is only hosted on average every 15 minutes. And I think it should be sped up for now, while the demand to play is high, then lowered after a few days when it gets boring.

Ordinarily I'd agree with you but I got a feeling it won't work with Era iPhone so early, generally a good idea to lure them in with "Good treatment" then whip them hard with constriction.

I don't think that suits longevity of content (nor loyalty) at all. "Hey guys, had a few weeks of event-every-5-minutes now, getting bored? Okay we'll push that back to one event per half hour. Any better? No? You want something new now? Okay my bad here's a new selection of hats LOL!"

Yeah, there is a limit to how many players can enter it.
The event system works as
You join one event, you can't join the next - which gives other people a chance to join.

As someone who can read (I hope), the forum clearly says "Era Main Forum," and is located under "Playerworlds" not "IPhone".

Since Andrew is almost half as amazing as he thinks he is, why doesn't he make a Era IPhone Forum?

I am experiencing problems!

No events are going for me! I only have seen one event and I was on for about 3 hours yesterday.

Do you have enough money to join the event? It won't send you a message if you don't have enough $$$ [events don't go for more than 30$]

Except that event is horrible and boring and it's the only one.

No, the amount you make in CTF is determined by the amount of players. I won over 20 once.

I know that, you get the total amount of players *10 /the # of players on your team.
You still wont get a significant amount, rarely more than 30. Ive made it rich off of events on era, I've probably won a good 3000, only spending less than 500

(well 3 of the events I cheated but i won 3 of them fairly.)
