I mostly like the floor, if you dial down the contrast it might be neater but it works as it is right now. But the table is all kinds of off, the original looked like a few boards of crudely-worked wood that retains its natural texture or whatever, yours has lots of additional lines that make it look like it has been worked further and yet there is still the funny lines from the original, except they now look worse because you interpreted them as rather harsh and dark. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, the high sky contrast is lost in your version. I think you should try to give this piece the bright feel again. You know, the transition from bright blue to darker blue.

I'm aware and it was a conscious decision. To achieve the high contrast it would take way more colors to do it smoothly, as I originally tried to use the provided details but I felt the dithering/transition with them were way to sudden and made it look messy. I may attempt to rework that somehow, though.

The perspective of the castle is worrying the hell out of me...

Gettin' there! Had a lot of problems with the "D" and "A" as they took the longest to do... Don't know if I'm going to apply a texture to the letters yet, we'll see.

To the exterior? Thought about it. Not sure yet, as in the game the logo is drawn as a sprite so wouldn't be able to have proper AA. However, just for the sake of a better picture I might do it.

Yeah I'm going to take a wild guess and assume that anyone actually using these "hi-def" LttP tiles on graal would result in Cyberjoueurs getting slapped with a big fat lawsuit.. Unless there's some exception that I'm missing?

Uh, I doubt cyberjoueurs would get sued for us using a tileset provided by a player that hasn't been uploaded to a server. Now if it was uploaded to a server for use publicly than it's possible, If they give a **** anymore.

IIRC, general rule of thumb: If no one's making money off of the copyrighted material, you can't be hit with a lawsuit. Otherwise, it's possible. Assuming it's being used without permission.

That's Nintendo's rule of thumb, I guess. Unfortunately, SquareEnix seems to follow some other rules, or otherwise this Chrono Trigger fan game wouldn't have been ditched :[ But this is going off topic..Sorry.

Of course you can; "fair use" requires more than just using it for non-profit activities. Cracking Adobe software and uploading it online may not be done for profit, but it's still illegal and they can still sue you.

Wouldn't a vastly improved tileset like what Dusty's doing now be more of a homage than anything? I'm pretty sure there are different copyright rules concerning homage/parody.

Sure. I didn't start off converting the tileset but I've since starting putting it all into one to easily work with the tiles. I can't guarantee that they'll be 'compatible' with pics1, but I'll see what I can do.

Hmm, I dunno which bush to use:

The first one I think fits in with the original and the tileset the most, but the double-thick outlines really bug me and I couldn't get it to look right with single-line thickness. However the second one I think fixes that but looks too bright for the tileset.
