Buggy Light Effects

I have these terrible light effect problems:

I used to get the same problem on my Linux OS. If I had a fresh install of my operating system it wouldn't happen but after around 2 - 3 weeks it would randomly occur.

This has been going on since I got this computer(and graphics card).

This went on all the time with my old computer. If I used 32-bit graphics setting (as opposed to 16-bit), the light effects would be fine, but I wouldn't be able to see the GUIs.

The buggy lighting, as I've experienced it, only happens with certain light effect images. It definitely happens with the default (light.png or w/e). I'm not sure, but I think the smoother gradient light effect images don't produce the red lines.

I get the red rings around lights too....although, I just noticed it this very moment...

Now its annoying the hell out of me.

This happens to me as well. It only started after I logged on testbed.

Are you guys using ATI or Nvidia cards? I've logged on testbed and stuff but this never happens to me. :<

I'm guessing "this" means zooming. I think you're right. I usually only notice the red lines when the lights have the 'shimmering' effect or w/e (zooming in and out).

I don't think the problem is initially a hardware issue because many people are having the same problems with multiple hardware and software platforms and operating systems so it's probably just an error with drawing the light effects and certainly isn't caused by faulty hardware.

Updating my graphics driver(I already thought I did before), only seems to have made it worse somehow.
