showscriptstats returning MHz instead of %?

Not sure how possible this is, but I find % pretty hard to accurately get a fix on what your script's doing. I mean, on your own you can get a pretty good idea when you see it on the list and you know your own speed, but when you start asking others how things are running and they tell you 1%, but they're running on a computer 3x faster than yours... things start getting a little harder to follow.

edit: oh, and maybe in the format of 100MHz(1%) or something would be nice.

I don't get it. What does frequency mean for a script?

i think it shows how much CPU memory it takes up. How heavy it runs.

You would just need to know the clock speed of the processor and multiply

I don't think it's that simple. The CPU usage shown in script stats isn't the amount used on the computer, but the percentage of the CPU Graal is using (from what I understand).

Yeah it's not that simple. I could go in-depth, but megahertz aren't made equal. It still wouldn't really tell you how it's doing compared to other peoples' computers. You'd get a much better idea of what's happening by comparing results on your own machine.

Lame, percentage of percentages is always a pain to handle too.

Definitely a good idea though dusty.

I also think it gets a bit more messed up because I think some gservers might be run in hypervisors these days~

Hertz would be pretty useless in this case. Using 50% of a CPU doesn't mean you are using half of its hertz. The statement "using hertz" makes no sense at all when taking into consideration that hertz is a frequency measurement.

If it could be measured, the number of operations would be a decent measurement. Another decent measurement would be the amount of time spent in a weapon over a given time interval.

This whole thread makes me speechless.

Please, don't use hertz to measure a scripts performance.

It seems to me it's more out of curiosity's sake rather than actual rating though.

CPU usage should always be percentage. Displaying script usage in hertz is ridiculous, imho. Processor frequencies have changed due to the newer smaller chip sizes. I'd rather know how many milliseconds have been spent executing a particular thing.

Yeah, that's usually what I check if I'm trying to profile a scripts performance. To see the amount of time it takes (with timevar2) for a function or other piece of code to execute. Much less vague than these percentages.

Hertz is a measurement of Cycles per second. The inverse of Hertz is the duration of one of those cycles. At 200Mhz one of those cycles lasts 5 nano seconds. Different operations in the cpu can take anything from a half cycle to several cycles, so even looking at it that way, it's not very accurate. Counting how many of those cycles it took to complete a script would give you cpu time, and still couldn't be described as cycles per second, but cycles to complete. I'm just trying to say, unless your cheating yourself, you can't measure a script in hertz in anyway I can think of. Although you could describe a loop structure in a script as hertz, because it has a cycles per second that describes it. A 0.05 timeout loop is easy, it's 20Hz. I really don't know about a for loop or another kind of loop. Sorry if I got carried away, it's not very often people ask about things I know anything about. You guys rock you really do.
