Recent things.

I haven't made anything worth-while lately, some of these are really bad and I wish you excuse them, however some of them have potential.

Not all of them are for Graal, keep that in mind.

Liberated has a spectacular aura about
first of all that's nonsense

credit to skeddles for that one.
2nd of all, that's not the point, the point is that you dithered the balloons when they're a smooth surface, and that balloons shouldn't be dithered.

i think balloons should be shade somewhat like this, but im not entirely sure.

His is better because I messed up on the dithering, but if he was going for a good balloon he should add aa to it.

Smooth surfaces can be dithered if done properly, however I am in the learning stages of that, so of course it doesn't look great right now.

There are many good pixel artists, that follow these rules.

Also Crono, I have other pros that would say other wise.

Not pros then. Unless the colors are so close together that you can rarely see a difference, you should not dither the two on a smooth surface. Dithering creates texture, and a balloon is smooth. Dithering a balloon is just plain stupid.

I have an experts quote saying you can dither a smooth surface. You just have to be highly skilled with the technique.

Nope, it's from better people I was just using that balloon because it was the only example I could find without having to go through the trouble of searching through various sites.

also btw its made by MixedMilkChocolate not by MeninSuitCase

That's not a regular, super-smooth rubber balloon though.

That is a hot air balloons, which are made out of material, as opposed to the style of balloon you were making which is made out of rubber or latex. The former is not a material that has a rough texture, and dithering is generally used for that effect. The image you posted isn't exactly the a great looking balloon either.

From Deviant Art.

Yet another dithered balloon, also, find me a balloon that's not dithered, yet it looks ok.

Ok stop posting hot air balloons, they are not the same as normal balloons which is what we're talking about.
