Why increase the max level when it's almost impossible to get level 107 on skills?

Simply.

This game does support 6 skills.

Each skill can reach its maximum with 130.900.000exp

Makes a total of 785.400.000 exp

A grinding game is supposed to be a more or less unlimited game, so it is normal that the maximum is a very very hard to reach task. And also it makes the game a bit more interesting, by getting the health adjusted to the overall level, getting high or even maximum enchanted armors ain't a usual thing anymore, and the overall level does display the true progress of a player.

Wouldn't mind this but it would sort of change things completely and there's nothing wrong with the current levels. It does seem like base levels could go alot further, i'm around 301million exp now, so i've way passed the max level, would be nice to be chasing after something more than specific phys/magic/wisdom levels. But alot of people are fine with just competing with others for exp and individual skill levels.

This would be more evident if the highscore house was not so far from players, i'd like to see this moved closer to main island warp on the events isle. At the moment it's at the opposite side of the island - offputting. And it's also unclear how to work the highscore house that also has quite few highscore positions... Look at mental, no one else can get on there since it was filled years ago already.

It wouldn't even change a lot, it is more of another calculated and displayed maximum overall level, that makes a lot more sense than the current display.

It would have an effect on three things:

1. Health

Everyone would have his health adjustet to the maximum level, since maxing out just mental wont let you reach the maximum level anymore. Gives the possibility to grow slightly stronger while increasing skills, even if mental and maybe agility are at theyr maximum level.

2. Armor enchanting

+12 Enchantement is the regular thing, either an item isn't worth beeing enchanted or it is +12, nothing in between cause nearly everyone who played, as gold member, longer than 1-2 weeks frequently does reach the current maximum overall level. With adjustement of the maximum level to the true maximum overall level reachable with all skills maxed combined, a high enchantement won't be such a usual thing anymore, which is a good thing, brings variety and makes it more interesting.

3. Display

It would display the true progress of a player, not just the maximum gained by mental and agility. With the current display the maximum level is totally unimportant, only the underordered skills display as they grow in the highscores. While infact there was a easy way to have a overall maximum level implied, that displays the true progress.

All of these are actually GOOD things.

I think originally the game did support a lot less levels, skills to a maximum of about level 30, that would result in a overall level of 110 if every skill reached its maximum. You can see that from the later on attached numbers and letters that cross and mix others in display, cause it wasn't intended to be that high before.

The skills maximum where adjustet over time, as the higher levels where reachable with changes on the game content. But the maximum level wasn't adjustet, according to the skills maximum.

Yea, i hate methods of levelling and ease of levelling in some skills; the difficult ones to level like phys, magic and wisdom are fine imo, we just need better ways of levelling, i love the curve. I also hate how classes mean nothing, it's wonderful but at the same time dreadful.
The overall level, i really got no issues with, yes, it can be raised since it's kind of ridiculous having the same hp/sp/grace benefits as someone who just worked on agility and mental while my phys, wis, person and magic exp counts for nothing. But i don't think it's a pressing issue so it can wait imo.

It would only affect Health/Sp/Grace and Display. Armor enchanting would have little to no effect, with 110 you can already maximise most armors to full armor... the only items that would be affected are things like mars, moon shield, items that weren't able to get 90arm beforehand. But this doesn't have any affect at all really, since the max phys resist is 99, something people already reach w/o getting max arm items. As far as display goes, it'll only be a new way of differentiating the very best players.

Ehm, are you sure, that you understood to what you reply here?

The skill system does allow to gain the max overall level, with maxing out a easy to max skill like mental or agility. One of them both doesn't max the overall level, but the rest can either be gained with the other easy to max skill or with just a little in the other skills. The maximum overall level, should actually display and combine ALL skills to reach the maximum overall level with ALL skills at the maximum. Else the maximum level doesn't make even slightly sense.

This will result for everyone who doesn't have ALL of the 6 skills maxed with 130.900.000 (which is no one as I suppose yet) to have his overall adjusted to his real overall level, of the combination of the experience out of all six skills.

The overall level doesn't have any effect on SP nor on grace. But it has an effect on how far you can enchant a armor piece, not speaking only about the physical resistance, but also about the + of refinement for armor class.

The display would show the true overall level of each and everyone, someone with a mental level of 107 and agility level of 107, but bad fighting skills and personality wont have anywhere near close the maximum overall level anymore, since thats a unlogical thing anyways.

But as mentioned before I think its a result of increased reachable skill levels, but not adjusting the overall level, to the maximum reachable skill levels, and therefore the maximum reachable experience.

Ah. I see where your confusion comes from.

Im not speaking about an increase of the maximum level, im speaking about an increase of the required experience adjusted to the current reachable maximum level. Else I would have say'd increase maximum level to xxxish, which would be a outrageously stupid idea.

You should have said, alter the levelling curve for overall level... when you put 'increase' and 'maximum level' together it's rather implied that you're speaking about... 'increasing the maximum level'

And to that then, i'd have to say no. All i can see happening is battles being shorter and an even more tedious form of levelling arise since the new, condensed curve would have larger exp gaps I could imagine even 70-71 taking months. The other method i thought you were talking about, i could 1/2 support - increasing the maximum level so that the extra exp players stack on after reaching 110, is accounted for, so that it's not so easy for players to reach max base level. I guess a widened curve is no better towards the end, but current players wouldn't feel like it, and we want to please people with updates, not have them wake up to a level, hp and enchanting drop.

Yeah as expected the new online game generation does want easy punny wum games, everything above two days to reach the maximum does take "forever" and something that ain't feasiblly on the second try is "impossible".

Erm, i actually enjoy GK's difficulty, most of us older players don't even look at the overall level, because that's seen as a basic. Alot of us are still levelling phys, magic and wisdom which take forever to level. What you're suggesting is logical and i wouldn't mind it that much because i'm the type of player that likes to get as high level in all skills as possible (without sacrificing irl things though, so i'm limited). But in my many years of playing, i've maxed one skill, about to max another and halfway with one... I'm just tell you now, the max level with what you're saying is impossible. Just look at john. 8k+ hours and he levels like a machine (90 phys without level glitch, wow) and is at only 550mill exp... The max is 785million as you're saying... People will look at that and be like 'oh sht, i'ma have to play this game for years to get even half way to the maximum'. Yet on the other hand people will look at it like 'wow, a game that has no limits, i can keep improving and exceeding my rivals if i play it right. This is cool, something i've not experienced before'. It could work, and as i'm saying, i wouldn't mind it. But it could aslo flop completely. Current gamers will just see a big drop in their hp, mp, their capabilities in enchanting etc. But i guess change is never welcomed easily (doesn't comply to USA).

If the maximum overall level is increased then some stronger baddies should be made (like new dungeons/bosses or maybe better treasure maps?)

Thats a totally general statement, empirically from what I've experienced in my online gaming diversion. Not to you directly. But I read it all to often, that games are too hard, to less advantages and to mutch time consuming. Predominant on graal, but also on many other games. And after everything is revamped, made more easy, less time consuming, advantages with rl cash spendings etc. the people realise that those sort of punny wum games, are mad boring, mostely to late, at a point when the game is far beyond help to set back on the track.

I wouldn't consider a game difficult, where you are able to solo kill any enemy the game has to provide and be next to invulnerable to anything the game has to offer after approximately 4 weeks playing if you aren't totally inept. Not to mention the awfully and dramatically loss of 440 platinum coins on a regular death (not speaking about the laming flaws) that happens if at all once a month.

It is not reasonless a "grinding" game. What is left over for a grinding game if the kinda endlessly grinding falls appart? And impossible considered objectives on games, that is where the fun starts. Im hardcore gamer anyways, so this game will never serve my own desired gaming needs, yet it is still somewhat enjoyable, but a inch more of a severity wouldn't hurt.

The only problem I have ever really had with GK's leveling system is that there is too much you can do on your own. There is no reason to work together. Which is bad for someone like me. If I don't have someone to hangout with, I won't even bother with it.

Naturally. Although i'm completely against new treasure maps, i see them as a lazy way of introducing new monsters or a new choice for levelling. New dungeons please. Crypt is nice but in the future i'd love to see some nice large monster dungeons with nicely detailed tiles.

Erm i don't really consider monsters, except for the Crypt monsters, to be considered a challenge, but that's not what i mean when i call GK difficult. It takes a long time to level, and at the same time very expensive. It takes ages to accumilate wealth considering you're not winning rares from events. And pvp wise, it's very challenging, mainly due to poison being retarded at the moment, and more cowards on the scene dting but you rarely walk away from a bmode fight with a comfortable amount of hp. Plat loss is minor, i wish people dropped 10x more plat, pking isn't rewarding enough imo. And people can cry about it, but all it tells you is, you shouldn't carry around alot of valuables, and you're best off buying stuff - makes money flow (except if the hardcore players just lame lol).

Laming should be fixed also, i'd like for people to go 'ghost', like back in the day when p2p came out, whenever they die 5times in an hour. Ghost mode should last until the player then chooses to respawn w/ 10percent life and sp. The number of deaths before going ghost would be reset after respawn.
That way people won't really be scared of going bmode, you're protected from being lamed and it's up to you if you want to die xtimes.

How is the endless grinding falling apart? Name me someone who hasn't still got millions of exp left to grind in phys, magic and wisdom (excluding abusers of the past). I'm still grinding! John is still grinding! I just wouldn't like to see the maximum level condensed into needing 785mill exp for level 110. I wouldn't mind so much expanding it to whatever level the curve reaches, like 245 or something. But GK isn't ready for that.

Agreed. I like for a game, especially an RP ones, to have a focus on partying. I can already see that partying, with new development, will become more rooted into GK and levelling. This is evident with Crypt. WHICH REALLY NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW!!!. Would love a 5-12 man party to slay an epic creature from who knows where

No offense, 'Dennis,' but every suggestion you've been making so far is aimed at bringing down players who have high AC, or high levels, or whatever. Why don't you try to actually earn some of those things first before complaining about how everything is too high?

"Hi, I'm scissors. Paper is cool, but please nerf rock."

Making the base exp cap that high would essentially reduce every level 110 player down to roughly 18, thus turning the base level exp curve into an even more insurmountable and disparaging climb.

Oh yeah, im suggesting this, cause it would have an impact on the overall level of others, but not mine. If that is what you are poiting towards, then you are a good mile away from the facts. This thread is about the overall level of 110, which is acquirable in a matter of days.

This leads to an imbalance, cause AC is a result of the overall level, acquirable with mental and/ or agility. While WC is a result of combat as in physical training.

And on top, a overall level logically is, and always will be a respresentative for an overall progress. Which ain't the case at the current display.

No, it isn't. Even when you have all the materials for doing DoV, (which is the most difficult part) you still have to put all of it together, which can take several weeks.

WC is just an added bonus you can gain while leveling up physical, just like high-level scroll writing is an added bonus you get for leveling mental. Being able to fully enchant things is a bonus you get from leveling in general. A person who levels nothing but physical will have the opportunity to enchant just as high as someone the same level doing mental. The only difference is, there's nothing that really yields great exp for physical, which is why nobody ever gets far with that.

It is even attainable in one once the supply are gathered. And those require some ingame wealth or for the lazy kids mommys credit card.

No, it isn't. Believe me, I've tried.

If you try and make DoV in a bunch of regular cauldrons, your yield is going to suck, and you'll slag more than half of them. Until you get to a really high level, they all have to be done in + cauldrons or else you're bound for failure.

seanthien is on a distinguished road
A new player just starting isn't going to acheive it in a few days, but if have experience and a lot of the supplies it's possible..Really easy actually.

I did all my DoV alching (The actual recipe, not anything before it like water of the wise, ruby, etc.) in like 4 hours. Although it took me a good month or so to gather all the necessary supplies.

Gathering the rubies took me some time, but the actual alching with a +3 cauldron took just two days.

It's the gathering process that takes the most time. I don't know how many times I've said this to you, numbskull.

How? Everyone knows the actual alchemy process, even of 10k rubies can take just 2-3 days. It's the gathering of the ingredients that takes long, rubies, torches, sulphur and water.

Please, scroll back up to #19, slowly read down to #24, make sure you did understand everything in the discussion so far. Then read #25, word by word, do it loud if that helps you. Read #26, and then read #27, can't hurt if you read your own post again. And if you made sure you understood everything there so far you'll probably understand #28 aswell.

Im going to my yoga class now.

Dennis.

GK has been the same way for a long time. Why do you have to come and complain about every aspect of it that you don't like, then get frustrated when people don't agree with you? It doesn't help that your English isn't all that hot, it makes it harder to read and put up with.

GK isn't perfect, and suggestions are great. But these things have been the way they are for years, and you're bringing them to light as demands, as though GK is wrong, and everyone doing it this way is wrong. On top of that, you act like you have some high and mighty intellect, just because you have an opinion you think you're a genius, and just because people can't wrap themselves around your 'points' that they're idiots.

Maybe people would actually read your posts if they weren't deterred by the fact that you're posting them. I know I for one haven't completely read a single one of your threads, because they're all essentially you complaining that GK isn't the exact way that you want it.

I haven't even started complaining yet. I gave mostely suggestions, improvements that have proven on many games stuck in a dilemma of constantly losing quality, to seek and eliminate the problematic game contents.

Im absolutely sure, that my english knowledge is fair well good enough to be read without difficulties. It isn't my native language, but im able to speak and write fluent.

I give a §&#$ if someone reads it, or not. But if someone doesn't read at all, or bits and pieces, and still comes to the conclusion, that he has to add his worthless contributions, he'd be better adviced to shut the hell up.

But whom wonders, that you only understand half of it, if you only read half of it.

That these things have been this way for years, just shows that it is highly demanded to change them. Just cause something doesn't work properly for ages, ain't gets fixed cause it is somewhat tolerated, or even accepted as a never properly working part.

Take a moment, and think how many broken things visually appear. It doesn't even take 5 seconds, to get a top10 together, for alltime broken, disabled and totally senseless game contents.

As for the first part, common sense is what you mean. As for the last part, yes I am sure that most people in this community thing aren't even slightly able to think logically.
