Idea to increase playercount

Alright I'm sure a lot of people will disagree but at this point I think this might be thew only thing that will work.

For a week-month we should make Zone free to the people who have lifetime classic. You don't need to bring it down to the player world tab but announce it on the global news. I'm not saying keep it permanitly like that, but if we get some people with lifetime gold to start playing for that week and get hooked on it, when it gets back into gold they would want to stay and renew a subscription.

We won't have to change the gelat weapons if thats what stefan believes is making money. (It probably is the only thing that makes money) If there is a player on zone it's 75 percent of the time a trial.

It's just an idea. Give me your thoughts.

I think the best would be that Zone/GK are free to play for lifetime Classic users on weekends.

Some people only play on weekend because they cant under the week.

Sounds good to me, It would bring more people to Zone/GK if peolpe who have Lifetime classic can play them in weekends. Maybe they start liking the server and maybe they buy gold to play every day or keep playing in weekends only..

Not many people still have lifetime classic. The amount that do (that also would want to play Zone) wouldn't do anything big to the playercount.

To get the playercount up non-gold users need more incentive to bother going to zone.

You could also make Zone how it was a year ago, People seem to have liked that since the playercount was higher. Maybe if you do that again, more people will play Zone.
Some things make people hate zone, like those hotkeys.. It is way to easy to lame now, you are fighting someone with your sabre, he comes close to you.. You press a key and you get your blue rifle out and lame him to death, Kinda sucks?

Jasper told me about an idea and it sounded good to me.

Close Zone for 1 month, in that time get some scripters devs etc.
Work nonstop in reneweing Zone get lots of updates.
Advertise for the new zone release, at that date the playere count will deffinatly be high, and im sure if the updates are good enough some players will like it and stay on Zone!

Zone doesn't have to be closed to make them work hard.. They have a Zone Debug where they can work hard, They just have to test and make everything there.. And maybe close zone for one day and make a huge update on Zone.

At this point if zone closed it would die, I like the idea stated by donark some slight changes should be made. At Jkool I know many people that have lifetime classic. Why do you think so many people play classic servers if the renewel of gold is required for both now?

Not enough though. Zone rarely hits a playercount higher then 20. We need to change that before thinking about doing your idea.

Exactly but in my opinion new zone players will quit because they will get base lamed all the time.

Win points are going to do what?
Stop people for maybe a week or two, you need a broader idea which will stop laming for a long period of time. E.g. Spawn at random spots, spawn where team mates are and etc.

How about a head hunt game? You have one person per team as commander and you have to target that person, first team to eliminate the opposing teams commander wins

That will mean team work is necessary if you have a team of 5+ unless you got some freak playing ><

2 months?

go for like 5-10 months, or even a year+, ridiculously hard weapons to get.

If you make accomplishments too hard people just won't bother, but if you make it to simple then people get over it fast, if you put it between the two, people just do either. I personally think random spawn spots on a map, or spawning upon captured bases would be the best idea.

Precisely what I was thinking, just like on most gun games where you capture bases then can select your spawn spot and etc

perhaps you could spawn at a captured base, make capturing a base more of a challenge than just stepping on an unoccupied base, maybe change the bases, so there bigger and more suited for combat, heres my idea.

to capture a base, you have to stand on it for 15-30 seconds, but if theres another enemy on the base, the timer will stop, lets say a storm rider is engaging a sweep base.

the storm rider stands on the base for 10 seconds when a sweep spawns there, the timer stops and they fight, if the storm rider wins, the timer continues to go up, if the sweep wins, it goes down.

This would make capturing bases more of a challenge, and spawn laming incorparated as part of the game, so it wouldnt become spawn laming, more of a "hurry and get back to the base before they capture it" situation, i think everyone wins.
