Some tiles I made

I was messing around with paint, not really expecting anything good to come out of it (graphics are not my strong point!)

I came out with this, so I stuck it into a tileset and made a small level out of it. Below is a screenshot of the small level I made with this tileset.

I think I did a good job, but I'm sure you good artists can tear it apart and tell me how I can improve it.

The image on the right shows the new version, following Tig's advice to add more depth to the bricks.

PS: I know there is a bit of a grid with the sand tiles, but I never really looked at eliminating it. As long as I know It's there I can get rid of it later though.

Would be nice to see it used in an actual path. Think the idea is good.

It looks too flat, you should add some depth to the brick tiles.

New version added to my first post so that you can compare the old to the new version. The new version is the one on the right.

More depth added to the bricks now.

I like the original, without the depth.

Would it be safe to say I could make it better by finding a medium between the two versions, or should I just use the original?

From original, maybe add an even more dark color to the darkest brown, so it will just highlight the other tiles, and then make it even more good ?

If it doesn't, then just take original

Just my opinion.

Very nice job you did there. I like the second one better.

An update. I used the newer version just because It's well, newer, but I still have the old version so any adjustments I want to make I can make.

Just added some walls and room borders and changed up the shape a little.

It's not really noticeable but some of the better artists may pick up on it, the black around the wall border is slightly lighter. I fixed that already - just incase you were gonna mention it.

Try fixing the repetition on the sand tiles. You can basicly tell where the tile repeats and this is a main thing that you should be concerned with.

Low contrast = quick fix to repetition in tiles like your sand tiles.

Yeah I mentioned in the first post that I saw the gridding in the sand tiles. I just haven't looked at it yet. I'm not too worried really, because I've found a use for the tiles, and the use I'm looking at putting them to will not use large patches of endless sand like that, so the gridding won't be very noticeable anyways.

Thanks for the CC though.

Gridding of this caliber is noticeable no matter how many times it's tiled(except, of course just once). Fix it man, don't avoid it!
