I haven't seen anything in the wiki about a way to read the current mapimg...
Anyways, maps don't work. In gmaps, you can specify the map image. So I'm requesting the variable mapimg be added to the gmap object, that returns a read-only of the mapimg set in gmap the player is currently on.

Custom minimaps.

I support this idea, it would come in handy when scripting custom map stuff for example, and I can actually think of something else to use it for, I just cant really describe it, maybe I will find some words later.

Anyways. Ya, the idea is mainly for custom maps. Right now the only way to link a map image to a gmap image is to either create a custom database sort of array, or manually extract it from the gmap file... which requires going serverside and all that mess.

Both are way more complicated than they should be, considering the information is already there.

You would only have to extract the information from the gmap file once. And have the data written to serverr flags.

This data extraction would be done when server starts and on RC command if you change a gmap thingy.

Still kind of unnecessary, don't you think? I mean, if the data is there along with all the other data already being loaded, why not simply make it accessible?

Now that I think about it, tried doing a clientsided loadlines on the .gmap file? Not sure if you can, since it's in the maps folder, but it might be possible..
