Well in order to understand how to bring them in you must fix things like game mechanics and bugs and stuff so they will come and play.

Make Graal Kingdoms free is a good idea but first i think Staff need to become active . . .
Now much players help GK to rev its cool but if no staff are on its useless to try that.

it has nothing to do with mechanics, it has everything to do with lack of content. the only solution to raise the player count is staff that actually does stuff
accept it. its not global warming

Well that's not really true. To a new player there is a lot of content to explore. However, there's no one to help them explore it. We need to worry about oldbies as well as our newbies. Without the oldbies there wouldn't be anyone to help the newbies, which means less newbies.

Most of the new content I have planned works around the idea of group work. Ideally the group is 4 lvl 35 players working together. But that doesn't mean 7 lvl 25 or even 10 lvl 15 can't work together.

We need to give people a reason to be a community before we can expect people to behave that way. That's really my mantra for all of the new content I'm working on - the community.

yes there is a lack of content for noobies... they can choose between bomies, bomies, bomies, and bomies... then they get to choose between deivils/heivils/gloks. and if they arent bored by then they can move on to trexs! and forget about any noob knowing about lords, and forget about the chance that they might think its fun to sit there for 20 mins waiting for one to walk by

Well, a Bomy is a pretty good challenge for a actual newb. I don't think they'd be doing much with Lords, aside from running for the life.

They've got Trexes, and lots of maps to do. If that's not enough they can quest. There is lots of content for newbs - there was enough to keep you around for a while

Yea, from a pure game-mechanic entertainment point of view. The storyline is stunted right now. My updates would fix that greatly - my intent is to incorporate the storyline and game 1:1, so that you're as interested in the story as you are in playing.

There's still a bit of stuff you can do within the community once you mature past the game. Lots to do once you get into administration. :P

Korean game companies call them "micro transactions"

I think its funny how so many people come up with these long essays about how graal fails so horribly(which could've been spent doing an essay for school.), yet no one listens.

it wasnt the content that kept me around; just the fact that i could log on, do a /who, find the bmoders, and kill them all.
which is why i quit so soon this time because i realized its virtually impossible to get rows, even if you overpay

edit: wait... MORE ROWS=HIGHER PLAYER COUNT

Gosh
GK is a really NICE server
I guess it's why it's gold.

But SERIOUSLY (YEH CAPS)

MAKE IT DAMM FREE !

This bring back the Observer mode system, we should seriously think of everything that ruin the game.
I don't mean it ruins the game to have ob mode (ok so you pay to play, no problem) but we should have other system than the ob mode.
Ob mode make people quit.

Exemple, for new players, when they get ob mode for the first time, they will wait then play. Most of them will keep playing, getting ob mode then playing again.

But also a large part of them will definitively QUIT or try ANOTHER GAME

Don't you think we should have something else that will bring more people and make them stay for a longer time ?

Ob mode gets alot of problems.
We should have system I saw in others online games.
I recently experienced a restricted area system, which means you only stay in the first city, but you can still talk for free !

And anyway, Graal Kingdoms should really have more staffs, or less BUSY STAFFS. Let's give an exemple ? BJORN (Yeh I said BJORN)

Why this ? Because Graal make us stay, Graal makes people BELIEVE in something new. Graal been keeping the hope of all people called Oldbies now for so long ! Yann, like everyone else playing GK, was extremely bored !
He wanted something new ! And see what he got !

Staff, on each server, should ask and look for what people wants. Staff should ask what would be good, what would need to be improved.

Oh, and to finish this, this remind me of the system on GK to fly...
What was this ? When did they say they would bring it ? Does it exist ?
Woah, I didn't play because I knew it would never be out.

Fine Sam, I won't talk about it anymore, just that I won't play GK anymore until something gets done.
I wasted my money there.
And I saw you didnt delete the BJORN part, so you agree with me I guess ?

correct me if i am wrong

please correct me if im wrong but GK has been an active pay server for a while so i dont think making it free will solve the problem, or more RoW's.
RoW's? why do you need rows? to kill all the p.mode people cant kill then :/ or the one or 2 people in b.mode what you probably dont need the row for...

i believe that once you get to a certain level the game loses any challenge left in it, im not strong on it but the only challenge i get it from players, what there arnt many now, or compleating an immense with my poor magic resist but even an immense isnt that hard.

look at other online games and there's always a challenge( an example being fairyland: there are levels of monsters that are stronger and places where they are alot stronger basically meaning what ever level you can go find a challenge and get exp)

a way to get items, as it stands they got a good way to make weapons but they are poor the best weapon you can get for free(not through an event) is the flaming sword and you dont even need to smith it, making smithing useless in turn so the only other decent weapons require you to go repetedly killing monsters weaker then you and normally die in one hit over and over and over... it gets rather boring. or get those damn event coins! used to give the weapon that was relesed now how long do you have to save up these coinse to get anything decent?

If there was a way to make better weapons so people didnt feel they had to collect 50-150 dias for a good one the event equiptment is good they look good but you also have the poor made equiptment through smithing, nothing is in the middle with weapons really exept a flaming sword, so the only way to make these weapons stronger is to find someone thats on who blesses and pey them to make it stronger.

A new area/s with harder monsters not just magic throwing monsters but ones that hit you with a high wc recoloured monsters could even do just named different so that even people that have spent most their time getting the best stuff would struggle on some of the monsters.(not monsters shot right up for the highest level players but getting gradually harder till they are stupidly strong and a challenge to anyone)

maps bug me in maps the rewards should be better it shouldent of been about exp, id prefer to travel somewhere to fight stronger monsters not kill a bunch of weak ones for the chance of getting one brutal and then have a chance that the gae lags and disconnects me, im sure its happend to others too weather its been found or brought when the game disconnects you from a brutals after a kill or 2 its annoying as hell.

expansing on the jobs would probably help as well.

mining could be expanded with more then iron coal gold and rare dias

smithing could be expanded to make better weapons maybe a place where you could find an item through mining or monster ie, glock extoplasm and a smithed weapon = poison, evil dievil heart and smiithed weapon = fire damige

farming and alchemy has been expanded well since ive first played but alchemy items could use better gfx...

fishing could be better being able to catch better fish you can put bait on the fishing line but you dont need to, Draxx made nice gfx that could have been used, never saw anything from them through.

and the jobs need to be a way of making some money too, because smithed wepons dont sell for much they need to be blessed to +4 for a decent money to be made from them, and praying constantly gets boring i normally just stuck a penny in the keyboared and did something else.

also i heared an idea from googi about expanding the pets that would make them more fun rather than them just being anoying.

the game need challenge and improvement not to be free.

I got a better solution, I am sure everyone will be agree :
First, removing the current player manager, and after adding a new one who can manage and care more about GK, and also adding more staffs.

I agree. Bjorn has been inactive for a very long period with a excuse which has expired. Stefan's and Bjorn's friendship should be alien to the politics of Graal Kingdoms - especially if it's damaging it.

As far as staff goes... you can't pull talented staff from thin air - especially volunteer ones.

That's good clarification. It's not a solution, but it does open up the potential for activity, which in turn opens up the chance for a solution...

And I wouldn't bank on it by itself - but I happen to know someone who has some good plans for GK.

GK needs fresh blood imho.

I logged on the other day, newbie course took me an hour to complete, not because it was hard, but because it had changed from what it used to be and took six times as long as it used to, and it was buggy.

Fix the newbie course, fix the mudlib (crossfire's old news) and fix the quests.

Have a good map, have good quests, have engaging and believable characters.

World of Warcraft is so damn popular, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

We should move very very far away from NPC characters and ingame story telling and move towards stories which rely on actual people.

I can make GK good without imitating another game. I just need people to actually help develop the stuff.

Do you mean by having actual people be part of the quest, or base the quest around that characters background?

Not so much a quest. I'm really not a fan of quests. They're very tedius and you have a sense of meaninglessness the whole time you do them.

More so... journeys, which you must do with a group so that you have people to help you and people relying on you. The journey would be less about delivering or obtaining some object or information and more about venturing deep into a dungeon or forest to free a passage to new area, or for the sake of levelling.

Quests are more like "How much of this persons time can we waste before they become too frustrated to do the quest? How much pointless errand running can we make them do before they give up?".

This would make good use of the dungeon systems. The monsters could get progressively harder until you end up at the 'boss'. Something would have to be done to allow the need for players to support each other however. Who needs a healing mage when they can learn the spell themselves, or overstock on healing potions? (Etc. Etc. Etc.)

As Tig probably thought about me when I was on 'questing' at 4 am. Btw, when the girl east of the kart track offers you a 'shiny key' for an item, it turns out to be a shiny rock. Just a little typo

ahh well you see a solution is in making the monsters harder and giving more exp?
by yourself you could go to a certain part where they get to hard but in a group you can go further why kill monsters by yourself if you get 500 exp for em if you can go thurther and get like a shared 500 exp everytime one of the 5 people your with gets a kill.

the monsters should get to a very hard point though, not through using magic but a higher wc so they can hit you some magic ones would be fine though, as long as it isn't relyed on them.

the bosses could be suped up virsions of the lords, and the creatures you fight virsions of it, such as lots of rabbits, rabbit worrias darkrabbits, shadow rabbits, stronger lord like rabbits, again but with some magic rabbits, big boss rabbit with strongest lord like rabbits. sort of thing getting harder and harder and say a dungeon with a layout simular to the HH with the keys kill them all get a key, continue

we have rabbit, glok, mushroom and evil bomy lords so a cave to each of them would be good and at different difficulty levels mush easy rabbit normal evil bomy hard and glock hardest so say i could probably go through the mush lair but id die if i tryed to go through the glok by myself,

face it leveling is something that gets boring by yourself especially at the moment trying to find brutals or dias to buy brutes to i have a random chance to disconnect when im in one and get sent out f it :/ it would be better if there was a place i could go and if i dissconnected i could log on and not have wasted time on getting the map...

so if you can go thurther in somewhere hard and get good exp in a group and you not going to have a chance to get disconnected and loose it, its going to make it fun, i dont play online games to do stuff by myself really i could play many of the single player RPGs if i wanted to do that.

Thats a lengthy read my friend. I'm testing out some drawings I did for some new boss monsters, and if they look good I'll pass them on.

Hopefully they wont look like enlarged versions of smaller counterparts

That is unless someone comes along and tells me all my GFX sucks ;O

well apparently the spawn rate was lowered... which means the oldbies quit with rows and no one can get new ones--which makes people resort to magic--which makes people realize how bad the fighting system is--which lowers playercount. so yea raise the spawn rate, or stop saying "it cant be evented because its not an event item" and simply make a goddamn ring thats practically the same, honestly (the economy is already in ruins, no point in trying to keep it the way it is).
i know more rows wouldnt directly raise the player count, but it would at least help to give people the feeling that they are actually accomplishing something.

i also know youre all prob glad i quit again, but its because getting rows was impossible. when no one takes 1500 dias for a ****ing ring, you know somethings ****ed up. flat out

edit: step#2 remove pmode, so i can actually have fun.
1 last thing; i think group oriented leveling would fail, because the party system sucks, and i think graal depends on lone rangers

I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with pretty much every point you've made. I think a lot of people will agree with me on that.
