I'd like to see what everybody wants done with the Enhanced Pulsar. Please only choose from one of the three options and do not discuss anything in here. Irrelevant posts will be removed.

It's nice to see something finally being done about the Enhanced Pulsar, it's so easy to be caught and lamed.

Uhm, you could up the energy consumption of it and lower the power so it shoots constantly (which is where we get lamed) for a shorter amount of time and will do less damage? That might just cripple the gun permanently, though...

I voted for lower the frequency. I believe you should lower the frequency just enough so that you cannot be trapped by it. If you were to do this you should up the power to be fair.

I say leave it, just use a spread wep like shots/pistols/handgun/ds/etc. and get outside of it's line, the line is perfectly straight

I haven't seen a lot of people using EPs now. I see a lot of people using photons now.

This isn't the first time I've wondered if you have ever actually played Zone...

Taking them one on one is no problem for me and it shouldn't be for anyone who can use pistols to a given extent. It's when there's masses of them that it becomes an issue. Picture this: a appirces user, a dh18 user, a smg user and a enhancedpulsar user all coming at you. You can't go "ooop! best get outside its line!" when there's three other "lines" you have to worry about.

I think it should be left as it is, sure it traps you like the bastard it is, but that's why we all love it so. If you keep 'de-laming' things in Zone just because it infuriates you, then Zone is just going to become this ultra-super-fair-no-chance-for-a-fun-kill-because-everything-is-made-specifically-so-that-everyone-has-a-fair-chance-of-killing-each-other.

Think about the noobs you plow through each day without a second thought. You use your event weapons and your gelat weapons to gain an advantage over them and maul them to death again and again. They don't say a word (Although there are the odd cases where one will step out of line and try to lead the resistance against the 'Elite' players). Everyday noobs who take our beatings day-in day-out are the true heroes of Zone.

Anywho, if you get killed by the Enhanced Pulsar, then it makes you want to continue playing and get some sweet revenge on the noob who lamed you with it, and doing so feels oh-so good.

Do as you wish but I think that it should stay as it is. It's fine as it is now. The enhanced pulsar is on one of the slowest classes, eats through your energy like an animal and while you are firing, you can barely move at all.

I said (Deleted for some reason...), Enhanced Pulsar is strong, but its the same as chaingun, and photon, once your trapped your dead. And Enhanced Pulsar is paired with the slowest class, so it evens it out in speed wise.

There is one thing I have to say:

Laming is one of the very fundamentals of Zone.

Zone would not be Zone without lame. Ask yourself this, when have you ever laughed harder than when an unsuspecting friend suddenly takes a pipe to the kisser? I don't think Boing and I had intact stomachs after laughing so hard at Sean blowing up on some proxis I had laid down. True we all get mad when a noob lames us and then brags but then you get the satisfaction of owning the loving heck out of him two minutes later. While I agree with both sides in certain issues, I'm throwing my opinion out here like I always do:

Laming IS Zone; deal with it.

The stun is way too high and it can kill anyone if you get caught in the middle of it, its overpowered and unfair
4 shots apparently according to some people each doing 5 damage (20 damage per like .5 seconds with a .3 stun or some crap)
Real fair.
I say scrap the weapon all together and start a new one

Lol enhanced pulsars are the only gun that give noobs a chance against actually skilled players otherwise they are continiously gonna get owned and i have no problem bieng killed by them its the players that have more difficulty going against them that are crying and wining and i agree with dante and anyone else for leaving them the same if they nerf enhanced they nerf photon then proxies then chaingun then its a never ending cycle

I never laugh after I get lamed.. my sense of humor died in a accident.. I do laugh when I'm racing towards a bike and someone gets to it 1st and blows up from proxies.

Or when I'm running beside someone and they blow up from random proxies, but never from getting lamed.

But now after reading the other posts, taking them out is kinda stupid since that is new player's only good, or one of them, weapon(s). But, I do think the frequency should be lowered a wee bit.

Double Shots= Anti trial Gun

Enhanced Pulsar= Anti P2P Gun

simple isnt it just the fact some p2ps cant handle the fact that trials have a gun that works for them not naming names but he is zones pet hates the idea <.<

That's the truth, only the truth and nothing but the truth.

Why do people complain about a gun that does the following things:
- Causes a high amount of damage
- Uses up a LOT of energy when fired
- Is on the slowest class
- High rate of fire means barely any movement whilst firing
- This high rate of fire means that it can 'trap' you once you are caught in its line of sight.
- Has no variance (Spread) at all, so it must be used very accurately.

Why don't people complain about a gun (The Photon) that does these following things:
- Causes a high amount of damage
- Uses up NO energy at all when fired
- Can be used on ANY class
- Has a high rate of fire but hardly slows the user down
- The high rate of fire is still fast enough to trap players
- Has some variance (Spread) when being fired (But not too much), so that it is still accurate but can catch people ever so slightly which is all certain players need to finish the job by using the 'trap' technique.

Not ever? Sometimes when there's like 20 people coming at me I laugh because I know I'm screwed but I decide to pull at tao_clan1 and go out in blazing glory.

And I think that the photon is crap and can totally associate with trials whining about them, Huwajux. Going on a guest account and taking on a photon cannon, I don't care who you are, you will most likely lose. They can move faster than you since you have access to no speed classes (even light infantry gets owned) and the sheer damage they do absolutely devastates you. Remove photon if you're removing EP.

do your best to stay out of all ranges of fire and wait for them togive you an opening and shoot and wait for another opening, it's a slow yet effective strategy if you can keep up with your opponents

and btw, I do play a little, just barely, I get on about 30 minutes a week at average, and hour if lucky

I can and have done it with 4+ people, my grandest achievement was being poisoned and still beating 5 people, one of which was an EP dude, of course, that was way back in may of 06

The reason or my guess is alot of new p2ps cant handle being owned by a trial i guess thats the best i can think of and it makes perfect sense knowing zones players
