New Cliff Level

Ok so I haven't made a real level in about a year and I think this is the first level that I have ever put good hard work into and that I am happy with. (Being in the current state that it is.)

There are a couple problems. I have alot of tile errors on the upside down cliffs so if someone could tell me how to fix those.

Also I wasn't real creative with the water because I was pressed for space, if someone knows how to make that better please share.

And lastly I think I screwed up on the shadows..so yeah, same as above.

Edit: omg I have no idea how to take a picture of a full level, anyone know how?

Some really simple mistakes! Layout looks nice though, a path going through the middle to the left will look nice!

I really dont like the layout....It's a bit confusing, all those cliffs that span the level...
But that's probably me.

It is supposed to be like climbing a mountain so it is supposed to be confusing.

Post the actual level, Crono wants to show you what errors you made and how to actually fix them. Guess I'll comment after that.

I don't think Crono can post anymore.
Anyways... there are a lot of obvious tile errors you should be able to spot yourself. Don't you see all the missing shadow tiles? Also, the tile of dirt between the top cliff tiles and the path transition=nono. That's terrible looking. I was going to post an image of all the tile errors, but there's too much to explain by just circling... and I was going to edit it myself, but best wait for Wan to do so, he's much better at this stuff than I.
Oh, and personal preference... but I don't like 'pointy' cliffs--where you join diagonal cliffs with no horizontal cliffs between them.

Here's a fixed version of your level, Crono placed some NPC's around explaining what you did wrong, etc. Overall personally the level doesn't sit right with me, but hopefully this will improve your copy pasta cliffing.

Edit: Added an image for those that may want to view it as an image or find it somewhat helpful. Alt + 1 to take a full screen picture in the editor by the way.

I had a lot of my friends look at the level and they said they liked the pointy cliffs so maybe it is just a difference of opinions.

I do believe I owe Crono a big hug next time I see him on the forums

btw why can't he post anymore?

I will post an update later with the fully updated level pretty close to being free of tile errors.

Double Post ftl

Anyways, I fixed the majority of the tile errors if you see any just say where.

I started detailing the top right corner, not quite sure if it looks good so give me some input please.

Oh yeah I also have no idea how to branch paths off of the normal cliff grass edging, my cliffs are packed very tight so it is almost impossible for me to make paths that do not connect with the cliffs.

1. I am sure he will get forum access again, he has been around for like 8 years lol

2. Why do people keep wondering why things aren't "logical" in graal? It is really starting to make me mad. If everything in graal was logical then the game would be boring. I tried to make the cliffs spin around like I saw in almost every level in the tutorials.

I am trying to make the level like death mountain from the Zelda series. So the cliffs have to be random. Picture the whole thing like a mountain.

Edit: Dangit....I forgot to save it and for some strange reason it didn't say "Do you want to save before exiting?" So poopy

Graal isn't always logical but it burns me when a huge inside house level ( 60x60) fits in a small ( 10x10) house on the outside. :P

Crono and I were thinking of this a while back (we're on a whole Zelda-styling craze) and it's just not possible due to the lack of tiles. Zelda LAT have a ton of tile errors too

Hmm, maybe I will make the tiles needed.
It seems fairly simple. The backdrop won't be 'normally' possible, though pulled off if a scripter knows that they're doing.
Also, Death Mountain wasn't that complicated, at least in its structure. The only 'maze'-like feature was the cave system. I also doubt the mountain's were random at all, you can't make a high-caliber game like Zelda and not have level design carefully planned out.

Gasp! Striking resemblance to pics1, how is that possible?!

Hm, I do say that I really loved the GraalSNES levels, but since I play graal I cant help but notice every ugly detailing and every tile error that was made.
