There is the stats Ed suggest for the bow. I think we decided on speed+2 And I've already the image on debug. And since Bjorn put it to the kingdom leaders to get some new kingdom items made, who knows. Maybe we'll see it used in a few months.

Guns have been brought up by people before, but most people belive it will ruin the server.

Not like tons of guns, just a single weakish one. It could fall under missile weapon, and use "lead bars" or something simple.

Multiple guns would ruin the server, yes, but a single gun that works like and pretty much is a bow with the exception of the gfx wouldn't harm the server at all.

Pirates may have used guns ... did they actually? I wouldn't know; only seen movies. I assume they did.

Personally I think that guns would completely change GK and turn it into another Zone. I would rather see a bow implemented.

Not guns, gun. I don't see how one bow with a gun gfx will ruin anything.

I thought it seemed alright though... at first. And the bow looked fine too.

But now I'm agreeing that a gun would be better.

Not too strong.
Not too weak.
An old pirate pistol isn't supposed to have much range anyways. I think I heard something about used only at a 6-foot distance. Let's say that's about the height of an average man, give or take. So think of your Graal character laying horizontally, between two people... maybe a slightly little more distance than that (like 1.2x).After that it should go off to the side and do less damage or with lower wc.

one shoot and reload gun they had :P you know i dont know the name but they had somekind and ye the range was bad but not bad! Ammo could be made with like 1 coal 1 iron would be like 10 ammo

It just has to be done right.

A few unawesome people working together can figure out how to bring the gun into GK without ruining it.

And quit picking on the damn bow.

I don't want to have to be embarassed when I end up buying one (or even... gasp... winning), and know I'm walking around with a terrible pirate weapon.

I'd rather see no gun and no bow.

Back in 2003 when there was only pirate belt and shield, Jagen said I had to draw a new weapon because he didn't wanna release anymore belts or shields (which ended up happening anyways). Well, I had someone draw it for me (since i'm no artist), and it was awesome! But I don't think I ever submitted it. And I lost it completely. Recently I had someone do a "concept art" of it though. It was based off the naginata sprites (intended to be first naginata-class item besides the naginata itself) and I called it a halberd, but I don't know if that's really what it is. It was badass looking too. Not too flashy or anything, just looked like a homemade weapon with a nasty jagged blade on the end. Maybe I'll show someone the concept drawing if they ever want.

The bow looks cool (especially with matching clothes, and if you use one of those black shields with the red in the middle), but PoJo presents a pretty good argument; it doesn't seem very piratey- a dagger or sword would be better. Most of the piratey swords suck. Diamond Force looks piratey, but seems to be over-powered by all those other elite swords. Inferno, FID, and ID don't seem very piratey- only acceptable. It would be terrible for the only good pirate weapon to be a bow.

All I'm saying is the bow is all ready to be used. If you want it, there it is.
If it's decided to go with a short barrel gun instead. Then I suppose I can work something out. But no crossbows, they ugly.

Katana's are useless. Sais and naginatas are only good starter weapons. They should be using them untill they outgrow those weapons.
Forest member SHOULD be using forest bows (not all, but at least a few), but then again I only see a few Foresters on in the first place. And maybe their bow just sucks? I don't really know...

The point is; I would hope this bow is planned to be a good weapon; perhaps an event weapon. So if we're going to have a good weapon, actually worth weilding... why not make it more piratey? I think the argument lies in whether or not a bow is piratey enough, or if something else would be better (gun, sword, dagger).
But if this is going to just be a craftable weapon... then I don't really care as much. Do whatever- have a blast.

And also, even if other kingdoms are doing things the ideal way... why do we also have to be the ones to fail?

I never planned for this to be a commonly crafted item. I was hoping to get a handful released, then evented at the Governors leasure. Much like the pirate wand.

these kingdom items are only going to be wearable by their kingdom members... people outside of the kingdom won't be able to ware them...

that is what i got from kingdom only items right?

Yes, but if it's a bow, tit'd have to be Supa Ultra Mega quick, and probably more of a CROSS bow rather than a BOW.

Pirates do not use bow's, they can if they wish to however they are more attuned to wielding guns. GK should and, i hope, shall never experience firearms. End of. If you want to use a bow, go and get one...
