Wireless connection problem

I cant seem to connect using my wireless box. I can log onto the internet browser but not onto the client..any suggestions on how to fix this enigma?

IT might also be possible that the datarate of the wireless is low and he is far away from the box so there is not enough speed to etablish a propper connection.

Its not that..i bought a box..maybe the client just doesnt support wireless. Ive tryed other programs too and i get the same problem. Not stating a fact but just throwing it out there. If someone could fix this problem please reply back or im me. Thanks.

Most firewalls let (or damn well should) all outgoing connections through and block incoming connections unless forwarded. Considering how the client establishes the connection, a firewall shouldn't be a problem.

This is on the assumption that crappy personal firewalls operate on standard ISA/SmoothWall configurations.

Good firewalls blocks everything, doesn't matter what it is with the default configuration. The first allow incoming and also outging connections if you set these up.
Only bad firewalls let everything go outside with the default configuration. For example spybots. A good firewall would never let data send away from your computer but bad ones with allowing everything for output... the spybot sends all informations away.

That's if you intend to let spybots infect you in the first place. I'm quite safe if I go through a smoothwall box. If I need to, i'll set up two firewalls. First firewall only lets, say, http, mail and ftp incoming connections and blocks the rest. This would be directed to a web box (my ****ty linux box ). The second firewall would block all incoming and would contain my main computer(s).

I had ISA set up to block all outgoing once but It became extremely annoying to unblock stuff all the time.

What type of wireless router are you using? Can you give the model number? This will make it easier for someone to give you instructions on how to allow the ports if it is your router blocking them.
