Playerlist lag?

Well i was posting about lag problems, and someone told me it was my playerlist, it is. I open and close it as soon as i lag, and its fine for a few seconds 0_o

Why is the playerlist lagging me...?

I was the one who said it

And I have no idea why, actually come to think of it, it only lags me on one of my accounts. I believe he has something to do with the new ignore feature.

It is possibly the playerlist refreshing (redrawing local players, getting the latest global players from the guilds/servers) section, but it is unusual for it to cause any noticeable delay.

Whenever I send a mass message on my gold account, within a minute I can barely walk because of how bad the lag is. Would take me about 2 days to walk from the top of Era to the bottom, and the map isnt even that big.

Is it happening when you use the in-game playerlist instead? (Options at the bottom of the playerlist)

This is really ticking me off. It's not the computer, its Graal. It shifts from acc to acc, and I cant even sell stuff on era because I lag like crazy on my p2p whenever I send a mass. Stefan, fix this bug. I think the players deserve to have a decent game, and not one that lags you whenever you send a mass.

I have tested it several times and don't get any lag or memory leak, so I need more information: OS, which server etc.

I noticed on servers, like UN, the playerlist is barely accessible due to the updates of players but it doesn't seem to slow my comp down much.

It happens on Era. It seems to travel from account to account. I have no clue why. Sometimes I can send 10+ mass messages without receiving any lag, other times I send 1 mass message and I can barely walk.

Hmmm May be some heads of other players are bugged and make the redrawing of the icons slow or so?

That wouldnt explain why it never happened to some people though. I never had any problems with the playerlist. Doesnt lag at all.

Not entirely sure, but that may just be the problem. It seems to be instant lag, so I cant do much afterwards. It must just be a small glitch or bug in my computer, because it doesnt seem to affect many people.

It will change if you can get enough people to complain.

Before Graal had a problem with Nvidia drivers (was loading levels slightly slower) and a group of us complained. Stefan fixed it the same week I believe.

It's not about complaining, it's about finding the reason why its lagging for some people, still haven't a real clue, when I go on Era the playerlist is not lagging for me. I will try to test it on more machines though.

its any servers, only thing i can tell you is that its something to do with the playerlist.

if it starts lagging, i open and close the playerlist and its fine for a little, maybe 15 seconds? then it starts again.

Is your Graal folder large or small?

Once again: Is it happening when you use the in-game playerlist instead? (Options at the bottom of the playerlist)

When you use the external playerlist and disable loading of player heads does it still lag the same?

What about when you resize the window (rather then open the playerlist), does that give a temporary fix like opening the playerlist does?

Weird @ heads
Resizing the window is reinitializing DirectX, I will check if there is some leak or so with the DirectX textures.
This problem didn't happen with v4, or just not that much ?

For me, yes.
At times, I can send mass messages and not lag at all. Other times, I send a mass message and I get instant lag. Sometimes, I can send a mass message, and the lag doesn't come until a minute or two later.

Ok it seems the problem really has to do with the "Your messages are ignored" PM bouncing between people. So it only happens when you mass-pm and the message is received by someone who is ignoring you and you are ignoring the other player. I will add a check in the server to prevent that, and also fix it in the next Graal client version.

Update: restarted Era and Graal Kingdoms, please check if it's fixed now.
