Sorry to ruin your idea Rave Platinum but it wouldn't work that well. I personally am a major fanatic of that game (well I actually grew tired of DDR and moved to ITG which is a much better version of that style of games) so I know a ton about it. The timing for that game breaks down into milliseconds or even less. A millisecond is one thousandth of a second or 0.001 seconds. Unfortunately, Graal's fastest speed possible is 0.05 seconds which is 50 milliseconds.
That's horrible when you want to introduce a game that is so dependent on timing. I don't know how much you play DDR but I am sure you are familiar with the scoring system for each note:
Perfect -
Almost exactly on the timing for the note (in actually a perfect isn't really perfect but it is pretty close).
Great - Fairly close to being on the timing for the note.
Good - Not so close at all.
Almost - Horribly off timing such as a whole 1/4 off (a 1/4 beat is your standard red arrow)
Boo - Just bad.
In a slow song (say 100 bpm) you could probably get away with this as there might be a whole 2 or maybe even 3 frames (0.05 seconds in Graal terms) between a
Perfect and a
Good which could be enough to get some minor accuracy and precision for note-timing detection. Now if were to play a faster song possibly even at 200 BPM, there might only be 1 frame between a
Perfect and a
Good. As you know, a
Good isn't really good at all as it breaks your combo and doesn't raise your life bar at all. Get even faster then 200 BPM (say, Max 300 or the Paranoia mixes) you won't even have a single frame in between
Perfect and
Good which makes for plain horrible note-timing checks.
Of course all of these examples follow under the assumption that each note would fall exactly on a Graal frame if you were to hit it at 100% accuracy. In actuality, that wouldn't happen. In the given example above about the 300 or so BPM songs, you might not even get a change to get either a
Perfect or
Great at all because frame 1 (for a given note) would give you a [i]Good[i] for hitting it to early and frame 2 (again, for a given note) would give you a
Good for hitting it to late.
Anyways, I really am not trying to discourage you from making this happen but I want to warn you that it isn't all that possible to make it work out to well.
Now we can also talk about music copyrights. Unless you have someone that will compose music for you... Well, I won't go any further

You both fail to see the complexity of timing. Especially for Graal. Do you want to be the ones to convert Stepmania step files into a readable Graal format?
