Scripting 3D Shapes

I've been trying to experiment with 3D models and I was wondering if I could make the format .obj work on Graal?

If so, How would I code this?

The only variables I could find were:
PHP Code:
TShowImg.shape
TShowImg
.shapeobject
but I don't think they are useful with files...
Any ideas?

I think this is impossible with the current image, you would have to be able to stretch certain pixels of an image, not possible with TShowImg.

Damnit, Whats the point of TShowImg.shape and TShowImg.shapeobject then?

You could always make a GuiStretchCtrl and display the image in that one!

The attributes shape and shapeobj for TShowImg are only used in Graal3D. If you want to try 3D you could use GuiPlayerView on Linux/Mac/OpenGL (-opengl) and assign a value to "shape". It currently only accepts dts, 3ds, ft and dif.

Of course, but then again my OpenGL has never worked properly. Can anyone redirect me to a link where I can update this OpenGL?

Trying to copy my signature? You're colors are off

And the funny thing is, I don't exactly know what MAKES OpenGL ._.
I have never heard of having to "update your OpenGL" so I don't know :o

I used Command Prompt:

After that, Its a pause and Graal will pop up, this time in OpenGL mode.

Go to start>run, find the graal4 exe, then add this onto the end, -opengl, and it should look like so:
CGraal\Graal4.exe -opengl
And just click OK

From what I see, OpenGL has horrible quality when drawing the objects around the Graal world. I prefer DirectX any day

Hmm, weird. Have you tried it out much? I use it on my Linux and several of my Windows computers (they're kinda crappy ones, Direct X isn't compatible). OpenGL has worked fine on all those computers, and I have tried like 3 of them with Graal.

Well its mainly just the gradients (like on the GUI buttons) that are bad quality. OpenGL is a little odd for me to play (because everything isn't what i'm used to); I'm used to DirectX :/

I normally make another shortcut for arguments.

Example Shortcut Path:
PHP Code:
"C:\Program Files\Graal4\Graal4.exe" -opengl

It depends, its better for me since DirectX mode has a few minor issues (mostly animated tiles) under Vista while OpenGL doesn't.

I don't notice a quality difference in anything.

OpenGL support varies between different graphics cards and drivers, and such.

For me it was always more efficient to run in OpenGL mode on my Windows PC, and on a Mac and Linux it's OpenGL because there is no DirectX. There are no differences with image quality for me in OpenGL mode.

If you have issues with OpenGL, it suggests that it is poorly supported by your graphics card or drivers.

The problem with OpenGL on Windows is that it is less supported by graphic cards vendors, cards like S3 have ok DirectX support but none or very bad OpenGL support. Also Graal is taking much less Gfx resources in DirectX mode. The next Graal version will take less resources with both DirectX and OpenGL though.

The advantage with OpenGL is that it isn't a crappy API which is rewritten each year, and is much more reliable (if supported by the graphics card).
If there are gradiency problems then it is using 16 bit color resolution, that should look the same in DirectX and OpenGL though. Do you mean OpenGL in fullscreen has gradiency problems?

I never use Fullscreen.
I may have found the problem, I havn't updated my GFX drivers in ages so I plan to do that soon.

More to the point of the thread, The GuiPlayerView doesn't work even with OpenGL on :[
