Graal is one of the few however, that doesn't provide enough updates.
For Mac or windows.
And many businesses do make it compatible.
For a business that is featured on apple.com, they should keep Macs at the same level of importance.
If not higher.
How many PC sites advertise Graal?

This sig war reminds me of another one.
Funny...both were started by the ignorant other side so offended by other people having different ideas

Yeah: back to new Dev tools.

I think a "Graal Suite" program should be made.
All up to date-every dev tool you'll ever need.
You could do it all w/ gscript, allow players to make levels and have the text PM'd to them, etc. That way, you can only edit script online. It would have some syntax correcting, etc.
Plus, it'd work on any platform.

But you can;t do gs2 offline apparently

But if we make an online editor, which would PM you the text fro the level.
A script editor with syntax check.
(Although it would be 1000x better offline)
gani editor, music editor, the works.
I want it offline, and I may make one if I can find gs2 support, (and learn carbon and a little more c++ maybe). Of course, it would be Mac only, *****es
But once I get online, I can start working on various aspects of this. I like the idea of an online level editor, that can actually save the level to your comp.
But um...bottom line: offline editing is best.

You can't test serverside scripting in any meaningful way offline; barring that, there's no sense in Any offline tools.
Thus, free whiteboard server. Everyone uploads to their own tiny slot, it gets erased every 24 hours.

For that you would need good online dev tools that would let you save files offline.
But offline tools are useful.
If not just something to check the syntax of your script.
Of course, you could make some kind of emulator.

You could emulate serverside though. Have the editor pretend you're online (in reality most people are heh) and have it simulate lag.

But multiplayer behavior is the most important aspect - will it synch up between two players, what if player 1 leaves and reenters, etc.

re offline; I've said before and now I say again, there should be a "package" file for Graal, where you can take all the weaponscripts, graphics, levels, config.txt, ganis, etc. in one big "zip" file. Or maybe just a handfull in a "zip".

I've finally got tile selection working right on my editor.

I might be able to release an alpha version if you guys don't mind just being able to do tile editing on the board. Signs, NPCs, and Level Links can be edited through the buttons on the toolbar.

I am still debating on what to do for predefined objects. I could use the current format for the object files, or I could create a new type of format.

I was implying that we should have more developers, not that Mac Dev tools were low priority.
Obviously, I wouldn't devote my entire sig to it if it wasn't important.
I got rid of DR info, a drinking joke, and white text commentary
(btw, for those who don't want to search, it's Players For the Propagation of Mac Development Tools.)

Just because I said Stefan shouldn't be bothered?
I don't think he should have to do everything, but they're still <very> important.

Well people like Skyld help a lot, the scripted RC is almost finished now. It still need to be improved a little bit (eventually put it in a separate window), but it is a first step of moving Graal tools to script or multi-platform tools. If we can also update the GUI editor and combine various scripted level editors then that will be another big step.

A level editor that could do everything the offline one could would be great.
(I'm excited over this idea).
However...I have no idea where I would start on this, and all previous online editors have...flopped.

There needs to be better script support for level editing stuff to make a good online editor (signs, links, etc). That is the main problem I ran in to when I was working on the online editor.

As for my offline editor, I've been busy again and have not had a chance to work on it

Can't you just do that by editing the text of the actual level?
Adding
NPC Code:

sign 12 32
Hey!
signend

Of course, anything to make it easier

All previous level editors were homebrew. Anything Stefan releases is Official, thus is Widely Used, thus is the Common Language. If I came up with a series of classes that did neat stuff, and released them on graal.net, and started explaining scripting solutions referencing them, people would ignore my answers; if Stefan scripts the same features into the engine, it would pop up everywhere. It's just Graal. Nothing you can do.

For those who don't know, he's working on a spanking new level editor.
