Who likes Pokemon And Bomies ;)?

Server: Bomymon.

I think that pretty much tells it all . What do you guys think of a server like this? Fun, creative.. keep players to stay etc.?

You would get bored, this is basically a replica of Pokemon but instaed of Pokemon we'd use bomies and it'd be online in which will give you more gameplay and it makes me wonder why they haven't made something like this for the DS yet anyway o.O.

Would be cool to collect Bomies, we can always add new ones as time goes etc. Would be cool to battle others, level them up all that.

lol . It was to give people an idea of what to expect.

Heres some of the current ideas:

Movement System:
- 4 way directional, no diagnols. You can't move another direction until you look to that direction first ;P. ( Fun? )

Music:
- While you play, you will have some BG music similar to say.. GK?

Inventory:
- Wait and see.. will be done soon.

Battle System:
- Random battles.
- Player v Player battles (Aswell as championships etc..)

Bomies:
- Evolving Bomies ( in which we may need some help here.. as we lack tons of bomies if you'd like a nice variety outside of diff colors o.O )
- Leveling up for bomies etc.

I am not alone on this project currently, there is another scripter besides me in which I won't give him out unless he chooses too.

Most likely the complicated part will be the battle system, most of the basic systems (item system, inventory etc..) is being worked on now by myself.

Movement system by the "anonymous" scripter ;P.

We also have about 1 or 2 other gfxers doing guis atm.

We will most likely use the current bomies and probally (due to recolors) make some of them different colors or even use the diff colors as an evolution-stage (don't know.. I don't like that idea much but yeah..)

People will crap on this idea, but I think it'd be very cool. I once was an avid Pokemon player (the gameboy games were amazing and addictive), and I'm surprised nobody else has used this idea.

I'm hoping you're going to have the same style of battle from Pokemon, with similiar views, because something doesn't sit well with me, having pokemon (bomymon) battles with Graal's default perspective.

About leveling up to use bomies, to put it bluntly, I think it is stupid. You shouldn't be limited to what bomies you can use because of your level. If you're able to catch a bomy 20 levels higher then normal (through standard gameplay and no exploiting glitches of course), you should be able to use it. I can see how one might unbalance the game by giving out high leveled bomies to low leveled players, but you're going to have to work on another way of prohibiting this. As I recall, in Pokemon, you needed to obtain badges from various trainers around the world to control high leveled pokemon, but you were still able to use them, and if you spend the time required with them, control them without the badges.

Leveled up bomies that evolve should change in appearance. I wouldn't play if all they did was change color. One of the things that I liked in Pokemon was seeing my guys evolve. Nothing exciting about a red bomy turning green.

Well, thats all I'll write for now, maybe you'll post more information later.

The actual math behind Pokemon is fairly impressive. Effort Values, Individual Values representing genetic factors that differentiate the statistics of any given pokemon from others of the same species...

But, naturally, I suspect a lot of those subtleties will be overlooked. Still, if you need help with concept I'd love to give it a shot. Just please don't steal types and attacks verbatum from the game.

Eh there are new pokemons comming out for the DS that are gonna have online play.....kinda odd they would think about this when thats on the horizon lol.

About Hiring: We will probally need another gfxer and a ganier or so.

My ideas for a battle system were gonna be a show poly white-ish board thing where we could show the attack run etc.. stuff and then when you do an attack or something it will showani an attack, though we are unsure just yet.. we'd love to be able to get some type of display on attacks... hopefully we can .

Gryffon: Idea's can help tons, I will soon be needing people for such. Stay tuned I guess

Anyway, heres an attachment my gfxer put together real quick. It's 3 evolutions of the original dice0 including the dice0 in the image. Comment, if you also wanna try on evolving the dice0 in a different way its appreciated.. we plan on trying several things with bomies

I did have a bomy battling thing planned for 2k1 back in the day... but it wasn't going to be a clone of Pokemon. It was an entirely different system which would have not involved leveling up the monsters or causing them to evolve.
