Aduld Tab

Tab that have Servers that can be restricted for younger players, when theres content that is not good for/harming younger players.

No idea how to check the exact, thats the complicate part probaply.

There's no such thing as an aduld... Who would make a server for a group of people that doesn't exist?!

Seriously though... There's no way of accurately screening the accounts. Don't even bother.

Not to mention adult content is already forbidden by the GRoC.

Iam not meaning pornography with Aduld.
I spoken about this WorldWar thing for example. Young people could missunderstood that its a game, and should be protected against content thats not illegal, but that they wont understand and which could lead them into wrong interpretations of certain topics.

Darklux, Adult (with a T... like in Tong ta dong dong dong!)

Ontop of that it would only create confusion amongst younger players and lure them into the servers "for sure"
The first thing I did once I was lik 10 and had internet was click everything labled as PG#something and Adults only >.>! I didn't stumble upon the p ussyheaven.. because I tought it would be the place where I would be reunited with my long dead cat now !

Ontop of that, youngsters always click Yes/I Agree and such things to avoid age restriction's anyhow. There could be a warning for extreme content on servers but that would be futile since parents don't actualy check the game and its meanth for kids above the age of 13, wich I think should be able to deal with some "pking" on a server such as Zone or something. (It would be hillarious to see a 13 year old wet his bed.. because the gaint shroom on GK loooked sooo scarry)

All Graal players are supposed to be at least the age of 13 already just by signing up for an account. The servers contain no realistic violence, no nudity, and even language is kept clean. (Serverside at least, can't really stop the players).

There's really no need for an Adult tab, since they're going to hear and see worse stuff when they fire up Halo 2 then they ever will playing on a Graal server.

I'd rather a kid play a game about War War 2 than play some random server where dragons and aliens pk you. At least one is based on real events.

It's not a bad idea: When you upgrade your account, you have to check a box that says "Allow this account on mature servers". Once that's been going on for a year (so every account's had to be upgraded by now) you can give servers the option of restricting NonMature Accounts - if Daddy doesn't trust Billy on teh Intarweb, then Valkorlia doesn't have to worry about him watching the wet t-shirt contest and getting his poor little mind corrupted. If Billy's got his own credit card and upgrades his own account, Daddy's got bigger problems.

I think it is a problem that paypal doesnt really check the age.
Youngsters could simply upload money to paypal (in germany young people with their students bank accounts are able to do that), and then graal is not really able to check it, too.

I support Rick's argument here. The GraalOnline terms of service suggests that such material should not be on game servers anyway.

We don't need an adult tab because we're not going to have content that would require such a thing. And its not like kids would actually stay away from such things, I began playing Graal when I was 12, and plus anytime I see a "You need to be 18+" etc. thingy I just click yes. I'm the one whos going to decide what kind of content I can handle not anyone else, any innocence I've had is long gone.

Well for the most part, this game should have a rating of:

(Teen) have content that may be suitable for ages 13 and older. Titles in this category may contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood and/or infrequent use of strong language.

and of course because this game is an MMO:
Additionally, online games that include user-generated content (e.g., chat, maps, skins) carry the notice "Game Experience May Change During Online Play" to warn consumers that content created by players of the game has not been rated by the ESRB.

You can't do much more than warn concered parents about that; and if they want perhaps implement a "time allowance" account feature where they can online log on between timeallowed - timenowallowedanymore which another big MMO recently did.

But I guess that could be another feature where parents can setup a time allowance and or just not allow children on more 'mature' content servers which is determined by the playerworld administrator or stefan`s. But then again I haven't been on a playerworld that a 13 year old couldn't take; hell most of the 13 year olds are the problem for the 'mature' content(chat) so lets get real.

That's a good idea. Yeah, I retract my earlier statement - if it's not a question of Parents giving their Kids accounts, there's no sense in giving Parents the option of restricting their Kids accounts. The trouble with the Time Allowance is how do we know it's the parent and not the brother, the neighbor, or the jerk who just phished his password?

A seperate password that the parent(s) setup so the kid can login without knowing the 'adult control' password. Also have a seperate secret question for that password just incase the parent(s) forget it.

I dunno, if german kids are uploading money to paypal and upgrading their own accounts, their parents never touch it and thus their parents never have access to it...seems like Inevitably More Work for the Accounts Admin. Let people lock their own account out; let people specify conditions for unlocking their account (ie call this # to confirm, snailmail the password to #/email to #)...this may be an untenable situation.
