Dungeon Ideas

I just wanted to write a list about ideas for new dungeons:

- dungeons with monsters that can only be easily killed if you have the right blessed weapon = monsters with extreme ressistances
- more monsters that fit to blessing benefits (goblin.. giant... and so on)

- boss monsters even a bunch of good players have their fun with and need quite time to kill it (200k hp whatever)

- rare spawning monsters with benefits (items that are needed for alchemy or something)

- extreme quick or flying monsters for bowyers

- dungeons or maps where you need a party of players, they have to stick to a specific weapon, magic or priestship, and only the party that works together has success and maybe wins.

hope you like my list ill enlarge it if something good comes to my mind

But boy would i love to have such dungeons

I'm going to semi-agree with your ideas on partying. Everyone has made the suggestion "super duper uber hard monsters that take 3-4 lvl 110s to beat~!" But how about we take our experience from the christmas event (Which was a major success after people passed the alchemy part) and have partying systems where people simply need parties of 3 or 4 to complete quest parts. Similar to the three key system or the "doing something at the same time in different parts of the map" thing. I just think it would be great fun and would allow any level to complete quests.

I think maybe older players could take newbs as archers, to help them level and protect them :O

I've said before that we need more dungeons like the old Zelda-style ones that used to be found on Classic and such.

Put some enemies in parts of it to make it a challenge, but make the real challenge of the dungeon be something that doesn't rely on character level: Puzzles.

True that. I completely agree. The only problem is on a quest like this is the prize. With the complex economy of a server like kingdoms, or 2k1, etc just releasing new sweet items in quests that will be beaten by everyone, as any quest with puzzles will be, eventually creates some serious issues. Other items become less valuable, while some others climb still higher in price. This effect, when used on purpose is nerfing, of course. But, if not carefully controlled the entire economy can be thrown out of whack and one of the main draws of kingdoms, its fun trade economy, could be ruined.

Why does the prize have to be an item?

Maybe the prize would be a one-time boost in experience in the field of the player's choice?

Or make it a random item.

There are like 30 event items that are no longer in the game. We could use all of those.

A boost in experience would be nice also.

I dont think the price should be something important, but the fun the quest would bring.

Item items? They are mostly overpowered.

If the quest is hard enough maybe a item with 2nd damagetype like poison flamingsword or something could be given, or older christmas items.

But Event items are mostly overpowered (see brads bamboo, or several famours items).

Is fun no benefit?
I really think it is.

There are currently no too many possibilities than selling high level scrolls or eaing stuff for such high players.

Most players would expect something in return for doing something.
Sure, I agree it could be fun, but I think they'll want alot more then just fun.

Than they are spoiled and corrupted.

There should be no season items, they gain too much worth after a half year, their price grows exponentially x-x

What would you expect to gain then?
Either way, you'll be harming the econemy if you give EXP/ an item as a prize.

Well.... if an item than without special stats.. like a ruby warrior helmet without special stats.

Event items / quest items dont need something special - maybe something to improve your luck.

If its REALLY needed, than only something like that.

Or you can choose between one ea or iwd in the end, whatever.

I know I'm being mean, but that's still causing danger to the econemy.
Having luck on items would increase the amount of players blessing, where as if you're giving out EA's you're basically going against what you said in another thread.
If you don't offer any kind of prize, it'd be better. You'll be gaining EXP from the monsters you're killing (If the puzzles has monsters in them), a prize wouldn't be needed.

Hmm maybe.

But gk players are spoiled.
They got rare items from time to time since the beginning - they wont understand or worship something where you dont get anything, thats the biggest problem.

Maybe something could be added like the chance of monsters to drop a fid in the dungeon of 1/5000 and other rare items too, you cant say its too easy to get them but everyone have a real chance without ruining economy.

I suppose certain items could be dropped from a monster, but it'd need to be a monster that'd be hard to kill.

Yes i think like that too. If the chance is low so that you dont need extreme level again, its a fairly good chance for new players.
Maybe something outa lvl 1 or 2.

Currently the only chance of newbies is really really finding alot of diamonds, and waiting for good spawns in shops.

The quests could give away something that doesnt give stats or anything at all. Perhaps fun items that dont really do much but could be used for RP, events, or just plain fun when idling. Event cubes come to mind, but seeing as those are fairly valuable items, perhaps new things. Just thinking back to the stereotypical puzzle based dungeon where at the end you get a jump rope.

Recolored golden Edges come to my mind,
maybe f.e. a black one.

Good for rp but no overpowered 2nd damage type.

Wouldn't it be easier to just give platinum or a diamond or something?

I mean, thats how all other games tackles that problem :/.
So you could make it so a quest gave maybe 2300 exp, and 1k plat?

And you people out there protecting the economy, this ones a hard one, how can it cause any trouble in economy?

It depends how hard the quest was. Will a level 110 be able to just continually run through the quest 15 times a day and become a hell of a lot richer? Will it be limited to once per day or something and be level based, the monsters difficulty being set by the level of the player tackling the quest? If the answers to these questions are No, and Yes. Then it will not hurt the economy.
