Growing up with Graal.

A friend of mine a little while ago was talking to me, about how he grew up with Graal. I found it to be interesting. I've desided to share it with you all. Here is what he said, and this thread is basically to share how you grew up with Graal. I have his permission to quote what he said.

"I was sitting here at my computer zoning out and thinking about random thoughts. I guess you could say I had an ephinany. I happened to look down at my desktop saw the graal icon and it hit me like that. I can pretty much say the Graal pretty much was a major part in elmentary years off life. For the record I am now a senoir in highschool. Dorby Says: I got to thinking about how much indirectly Graal affteced my life, I can rember sitting there on the 3-way three of my friends all who became somewhat known on graal, Except for myself just due to the fact that I really was and still am a lurker. You might know some these players acutally they went by the names PimpMastaG (Aka RaabHimself), Steve Miraid, And Ed or EdDaPenguin. Well anyway back onto topic I realized that graal pretty much is the reason I even bothered pursuing the internet and such.. Along with grammar, Some of the harrassment I put up with as a newb still haunts me to this day when someone points out a gramical error wether it be on a paper or on the forums or ingame. I know right now I may be that corrent as I am not really in a right state of mind tommorow but I do not want to get into that. Anyway I was wondering if you kind of grew up with graal in a sense And with that in breef is the basics of my graal ephinany."

I got into HTML because of graal and got more motivated to learn other programming languages. I learned a lot of computer stuff probably because of graal and the numerous hours of idling and learning stuff off the net. weird.

I started playing Graal almost five years ago and I haven't learnt a single useful thing from it. But I did learn some cool stuff from guys like Kamuii and Kai.

I learned alot about myself, I also learned I hate 13 year old kids, who tell me to "go **** yourself n00b" when their pixel pwns mine.

I learned I hate the internet.

ninjaedit: I would of done it properly, but that would be avoiding the filter and I'd get banhammered.

I learned to like the computer alot more then I use to. and it helped my grammar, but i'm still pretty crap at it. and my spelling doesn't help, but I suppose it's better then typing "wow man wat is up? werd dawg ur cutie pie" like I use to (I don't believe I had ever said that sentence before).

The scripting side of Graal made me want to take my Programming languages to a bigger and broader range. So, I learned some Qbasic, Visualbasic. and i'm now pursueing a carer in computer science.

Plus on top I recently learned some Java Script. and I plan on learning PHP when I get it set up on a website.

Excuse any spelling mistakes or grammar errors. It's because i'm teh sux0r.
and one more thing that I had realised is no matter how many times you do it telling a newbie to push Alt+F4 will have you in histerics if he/she does it, but if you tell them to push CTRL+ALT+DEL twice it's even funnier (Only if they don't have Windows XP).

That's extremely hilarious in my opinion, but others may think it's stupid. Never the less i'm an idiot no matter what I say. So, incriminating myself with more stupidity doesn't bother me :P

I learned a little bit of scripting, realized that people like my levels, and basically went through middle school and highschool with graal. However the only times I actually had a lot of fun on Graal was back in 7th and 8th grade and a little bit of 9th. (2000-2002)

After that things went a bit downhill and now Graal is boring until new val is released.

The only one that might possibly remotely deserve a class is Access.

Smart guy.

Oasa, if your VB is anything like your Gscript, you should consider an easier form of scripting, like scribbling on paper.
