Has anyone played atrius yet?

I found this server, my friend told me about it, its got some cool stuff, like it has differant clothes u can buy and stuff. and they have some really cool effects, the owner showed me how to mine and he put the tnt on the ground and it made the coolest explosion! and when he shot with the uzis they had like smoke that came out of the bullets sort of following, it was really really cool.

I think this server is better than zone and era, and i'm sad because I can't go and play it any more because my VIP ran out. Why isnt it on hosted or classic list? its the coolest server ive ever seen! they have new bodies that are awesome, but the running looks really funny.

also wut happend to era??

In response to smu's first post:
they didnt pay me anything to make this thread, and i liek theyre graphics. I herd they hired a profeshonal to do their graphics and payed him money. i like theyre bodies much more than the ones that are in regular graal.

I'm guessing they want to stay Private to suprise everyone when their ready to apply to become a 'Public' playerworld. For your second question, read Era's server messages. There will be a delay according to Era Staff.

Going "Hosted" is pointless, it's classic that one should seek.

id like to see bullets done more realistically, and by that i mean faster, and shootable in more than 4 or 8 directions. maybe mouse aimed.

rather than making the bullets move gradually towards the target on the screen, maybe you could try something like checking vectors of shooter to targets. So if person is in the path of a shooter and his reticule when he presses the fire button, he will be hurt almost instantaneously. if theres something in the way, like a mailbox, then he would be covered.

you could make the shooting vary, like a reticule in FPS games. it would get small if your standing still, and be larger if your running and shooting, get larger the farther away your cursor is from your character, or shooting for longer periods. so the vector would randomize a bit.

and im sure you could make some cool gfx for instantaneous gun shooting. since bullets are no longer needed. THe show poly is still non antialiased, but is this changed in g4?

of course this would totally change the way the server works. and im pretty sure atrius is really far into development on their guns. its just a thought.

Also, I played Atrius for about 30 mins, the effects are seriously cool and the clothing system is pretty neat. I don't understand why servers like Eden get a Hosted-tab chance but Atrius doesn't.

I didn't like it. I couldn't get anything to work for me.

I've been playing the server lately, sadly some sound effects are stolen from counter strike but apart from that nice server.

Its always been a great server. The major problem with it has always been: Staff Corruption, Stolen Stuff, and not enough original ideas. With a little work it could definately be a great server.

I think Atrius has tried really hard to make their server fun, but I don't think it is appealing.. Custom bodies = Ugly
Graphics = ugly
Effects are ok.. I just don't think it is very fun.. Plus I don't want to play a server where G-man has any rights. >.>

Atrius has a nice tileset; But like Aeon, It looks too cartoonish for my taste.

He's not trying to make players play. He's trying to attack the globals for declining the server to go classic...

yes it could but they keep hireing era players and they just want to pk they do a little then just idle on rc so basically it was only madj,gman, and a unnamed lat doing all the work aka fixing all the crap that the other people messed up. anyway they got nannas now and gman says he is good but who knows i heard madj returned (there gfx guy/owner also no he was not paied)

::edit:: amd atrius is in no way ready for classic its got to many bugs/not enough weapons and it needs a decent gani person to redo those bodys not to mention many more buildings

Atrius, I do not like at all, as someone said above no original ideas, They take ideas from other servers like era, Get your own ideas together, and as the one said take the stolen stuff away and get the server debugged so i can actaully play and see how good it is, I mean I log on and theres a staff guy sitting there with a huge gun blowing me away so I hit the "X", Thats corrupt, not what I like so get the garbage off there, thats not cool that staff do that......this is constructive critisicsm
