Ok, first off, let me make this clear. Unless you:
#1: actually steal the code(I mean directly from Zelda in this case)
#2: steal or reproduce the image
Then technically your in no legal trouble if you mimic any weapon or bad guy from a game unless its like a whole level. Why then must we get rid of the boomerang and throw away npcs like my ancient bottle(yep, I'm still ticked about)? Why not trash the bow and bomb while were at it.
If you want proof that your ok I have it right here in my hands. A game called tetris. I mean, how many games are there where the objective is to destroy falling blocks. How many games are there where you stick a sword in an enemy? Is the idea of having the main character have a sword patented? I don't think so. Someone out there would be sueing right and left no? I don't think you can patent those things
As for those who say its not original enough. I say it IS original enough if you give it some use not of Zelda. A good example of this would be the bomb on G2k1. Having bombs blow up walls so you can mine the remains is a wonderfull idea. I do think it should keep its function though or that this new version be called TNT instead of bomb and keep the original bomb in the game or something but thats just me. Make som diagonal facing walls for the bow to bounce off of to complete a puzzle or something. theres a computer game where the point is sort of like this: You had to shoot from the edge of a level and there were some balls that made pinging noises when you went over them and caused your "arrow" or, in this case, a colored square to reverse or something(how you figure out which is which).
I am disapointed with the way good npcs from the past have been tossed away, never to be seen again. We don't even have ANY magic weapons on classic anymore. At the very least. The cape, Sardons fire spell, and the fire rod I made for Kojita(which has undergone several improvements and a power upgrage hey it only has 20 shots so it should be) should be back and magic with it. Even the airship, which btw had its makings BEFORE Final Fantasy (it is one of those mythological things like a vampire ya know), could come back as it fits the setting better. At least have a little humor and make the alien technology work and look weird in a way that is impossible in reality. In other words, make it a cheese powered Spaceship or something.
That is all I have to say. Sorry for refering to my old npcs but my only problem with my morning star(needs a new name if you look at the technical definition, a morning star has no chain) is getting it ON in the first place.

As a side note: I think NPC weapons in general need more level interaction. For instance, with my morning star, I made it so it will crash though ice walls(I need art for the ice wall btw) on my current version.
Also a side note: What happened to updating the commands.rtf? I know of several commands and have read of a few other commands that I didn't try that arn't listed. Not all of them are from G2k1 even.

I haven't really seen any monsters from Legend of Zelda:A Link To The Past on Graal, but I'm not saying their won't be, but I hope not. If one ever does show up it'll probably be on Delteria.

I was wondering when someone would get around to complaining about it....

The fact of the matter is that we probably were never under any real threat of being sued by the Zelda people JUST because we also had a Boomerang. However, the Deluxe Boomerang was pushing it a bit far: carrying items, get it fairly early in the game, plus there's the fact that it looks almost exactly like the Zelda boomerang, coloring and everything. Magic boomerang, don't even get me started on how much of an ripoff THAT was.
The real issue is originality. Sure, the Airship used all new graphics I made myself, but based on the FF5 Airship. You don't look at it and say Another Airship, you look at it and say Hey, its The Falcon!
Same for the Boomerang. You say Hey, it's the Boomerang from Zelda 3!
If we had a baddy that swung a mace, you'd say Hey, it's the Mace baddy from Zelda 3!
If we had a way of warping to the dark world and back, you'd say Hey, just like Zelda 3!
See the problem? Without technically copying Zelda 3, we're nevertheless mimicking it.

All that bull aside, if I make it The Bruges Bird instead of The Boomerang, I can make 3 quests for 3 levels of it, and at Level 2 it can grab items for you.

Also, though noone's noticed it yet, I recommend firing it at a bomb. ^_~

Agreed then... but put some of those old weapons back on... if you only have to replace the gif, rename, or add a function to them then do it. I'm tired of this.

PS: The spinning mace(my Morning Star is what he is refering to I think) is a weapon NOT a baddie... jeez.

Sometimes some secrets are hard to keep... especially when you partially resenting having to keep them and time has made the secret technically not so big anymore(I'm sure)... oh well... life sucks... hum...
