Maps

I made a map but I cant get it to show when I press 'm' in the game. I have a gmap and I'm pretty sure its not the problem. Is there a script I need to put in the level to tell it to use the map or something?

Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
NPC Code:
loadmap gmapname;

e.g: yourgmap.gmap

So put:

NPC Code:

loadmap yourgmap;

(no .gmap)

Does your editor go in to map mode?

You probably have automapping disabled in your f1 options. If you don't have or set a map image with setmap mapimage,maptext,x,y; you're not going to see anything in the map veiwer. Either that or your gmap is busted and Graal can't load it.

Automapping is enabled and I have a map image. I've never seen 'setmap' before. Do I need to put that in a script in the levels that use the map? If so, is it clientside?

Oh yeah, that's right, you don't need setmap with a gmap, since it sets the map image in the gmap...

Well anyway, is the map actually loading? I.E. do you see a four directional arrow in the editor?
Edit: No, you didn't use the terraingenerator, so I doubt you don't have the .gmap extension on the file... But yeah, is the gmap actually loading?
If not, I'm just going to assume you didn't name your gmap with the .gmap extension. Add that to the end of the name and it should work (assuming that is your problem) *kicks Stefan*

Alright, so does nothing happen when you press m, or does the screen go to the black map screen as if it were going to show the map but doesn't? I'm just trying to identify what exactly is going on.
If nothing happens, I would assume you have a "disablemap;" somewhere. Otherwise I believe the problem must lie in your map image itself.
