HoudiniMan will become famous soon enough
Why do people use accounts that aren't theirs?

It's bad that people have their passwords comprimised... but what drives people to actually log on to somebody else's account?

I know greed is a huge factor, but honestly, these people create support tickets asking to be unbanned.

How can you violate somebody else's account and not expect to get kicked off the game?

Remember, most of the players without a p2p and the need to use someone elses are mostly "kids".

It wasn't a rhetorical question.

Some think that by logging onto the accounts of others that they will get away with whatever they're trying to pull off, and if you're a sentient player in any way, their plans won't fall through.

All you have to do, really, is get someone to globally ban your account, and then change your password and make a support ticket. Takes a long time, but the process is easy enough.

Imagine: two people play gk and are good friends reallife.
Both of them give their password to each other, so that if the other has no time, he can take items of the account.

Whats the problem with that?

GraalOnline made P2P and enforces no account sharing for a reason. Keeping this game up isnt free, and things need to be paid for, and im sure Unixmad, and Stefan would like to keep making a profit.

The problem is that one player could give the other items that s/he needs before his/her gold time runs out, barring large exceptions, such as the other person's account being stolen, etc. But then we come back to the same issue.

Iam just meaning that I have friends I would trust enough to give them account and pwd. Sadly none of them plays graal, so I dont have to do it.

I would see no problem if they would take items from time to time, and if they would do crap I could still solve it with them reallife..

No clue why they do this. I do know it happens daily and some players are smart enough to get their hands on dozens on stolen accounts and use them as currency. Luckily they aren't smart enough to hide their IPs or computer IDs.

I don't think being able to hide your IP or computer ID is something that reflects intelligence, as I'm pretty sure there's no real way to do it, for the computer ID part at least.

From my experiance, people do it because they can, and because a lot of staff ignore it.
I have seen many, many account sharers, and some of them have it even in their profile that they are sharing.
I have seen them openly discussing it in masses, and in game.
It is very easy for them to do it, and get by with it, even if it is just a long period of time, and not forever. Then, if they get caught, the owner can just request a password change, and all is good again.

A couple of my friends shared accounts, and they all got globally banned at one time or another... but, like it was said, one of them even had it in his profile, and it still took about half a year for him/them to get banned.

Again, greed is a large part of someone stealing a password and using the account. But buying a P2P isn't that hard, all you need to do is create a paypal account and then spend $19 at a minimum.

And then I suppose some people are just stupid. No other way to put it.

HitmanJ2XX has a little shameless behaviour in the past
But what if greed isnt a problem?
Cor and I both know certain people ::cough: Snoro :cough:: Who just need RESET accts every year or so because they need challenge. I was (am) banned on Era because I was given an acct (2) that some guy didnt want. Banned. Working on it. But the thing is people use other's for many reasons. You never know unless u question their motive.

Guh, but the problem comes on people that is on a LAN and people get the same IP and ID, because of the router or server. Know what sucks then? IP BAN XD.

*One does something wrong, sharing account, ban, 13 people"* WTF WHY WAS I BANNED?!

Happened here once, 7 of my friends, on the LAN I am sitting on, one was IP banned, still no idea why, and the rest of us with him .

Uhm, I always hide my ip.. there wasn't computer id's back then but my friend found out that any of the below will make your pc id change
Installing over Windows
Installing Fresh Windows
Different Operating Systems
Windows Updating

Couple more I don't know, but I can easily just switch to linux, and use a virtual DVD distro and get a new id daily.

As for ips.. proxies.

On gold servers they do it to use things their friend has, like a high level or an event weapon. On other servers probably to have good statistics for bragging rights.
