Account sharing

I really wish that you guys would make it known that account sharing is illegal. I see people everyday on aim that share accounts and I tell them its illegal but they dont know its illegal.

Maybe there should be a button on the graal prog that says rules and it would direct you to a webpage listing all the rules, and at the top it would state that account sharing is illegal. Maybe just a message under your account space where you type in you account saying account sharing is illegal like this.

It'd be pretty great to get an un-hackable Graal soon, too, which is currently the root of all accounts being "shared." Relentless Mirage tricked me into downloading the trainer on AIM. I asked him for the GraalShop program and he sent me GraalShop.exe, I loaded it, it was the trainer, and as we all should know, that trainer instantly finds Graal password files on your computer and retrieves it to the Intelligence team...damn them hackers, and the other account sharers.

A firewall really won't do much, it has no sort of virus or trojan within it. I'm not going to give you the site, I'd rather not take responsibility for your account being possibly stolen. :|

I usually don't ban right away since I just recently posted about the rule. I always give a warning and change the password for the person who has the paypal receipt. Their account name goes on a list, and I check it later on...if the IPs are different on servers again, they're banned.

Yes, but the problem is, alot of people dont have access to these forums....there needs to be a clear, visible place where all will see it without a doubt

You know, Moon Goddess, that's all well and good, but this information is posted at both the website and the forums. You don't need a forums account to come by and read the threads; and it's always a good idea to check any game you play's webpage for any new news, etc, and the information is also clearly posted there. It's the fault of none but themselves.

I know this, and I also know that most of the graal players are lazy when it comes to reading the rules, and I know it is their fault...I just thought it would be a good idea to make it more visible....its only my opinion, lol

I also think what spark posted there (the addition to the client) is a good idea

Not completely true. There has been more than one instance where this was allowed.

See what happens if someone gives you an account but you dont have full control over it. 1 year later your staff and no one set your IP yet and you have levels. The person then finds out your staff goes on your RC and removes all the levels. BOOM your globaly banned, why? It was on your account your responsible. Its just a way to prevent this kind of things happening. Or say your FAQ on a server (no RC) and the person comes on and starts cussing at people with the FAQ tag on. You will get fired your responsible.

Well DUH! If you are stupid and don't have the password changed then that could happen. That's why I said under certain instances, it has been allowed.

Then they should be held responsible. You seem to think I'm trying to justify this practice. I am merely saying that IT HAS OCCURED MORE THAN ONCE...and NOTHING has been done about it. In fact, Lyndzey herself said it is allowed under certain circumstances.

Thank you. That's all I've been saying. There's also been cases where an oldbie had an old account that was upgraded a long time ago (say early 2001), but never upgraded it again after that. The account is still lifetime classic, but the oldbie gives it away to a friend. The difference here is that the person who the account was given to pays to upgrade the account. Hence ownership is changed I believe after a password change is made.

I love you super 1337 double posting skills, and this account was created in 2000 or very early 2001. And I thought it was legal to GIVE your account to someone else...unixmad didn't seem to mind.
