Global Playerworld Rules

This thread is not to slander any members of the Playerworld Administration.

Is there a list of global rules for playerworlds written? I mean...the "new" rules.

I've visited a number of playerworlds, both development and public, all telling me, "The PWA said this is illegal."

Though, how come I don't see written rules?

I mean...I have seen a thread with written playerworld rules, though, I do not see an update of these rules.

So how would playerworlds know to follow these rules if it is not announced pubically?

I think these "new" rules are just a sort of out of the moment things some of the members of the Playerworld Administration do. So could you make a list? Maybe make it a sticky on the forums?

Answer.

Edit: Please, do not try to pull off, "Go read the GraalOnline Code of Conduct." Those are not the rules I am looking for.

I think this could help out the Managers of playerworlds alot, also lower the ammount of things the PWA has to do.

I'm not sure if I'm correct or anything.. but I believe the PWA only enforce things found in the User Agreement and such. Most of the rules are common sense anyways, like no lewd images.

The user agreement, known to me as the GraalOnline Code of Conduct barely says a lot about playerworlds rules.

This would help, although no one would read it unless they broke a rule and were lead there by a PWA member.

Most playerworld owners probably have been told something by a PWA that isnt blatantly obvious. I think a written set of rules would be nice also. There are many areas where people dont know what to do just because they have heard one thing and been told another.

I want to see the rule approved and updated if it is infact a real rule.

Personally, I would like to know exactly what the rule is on staff deleting material (scripts, levels, gfx, etc...) from a PW then quitting

If someone creates something on a playerworld which they have rights to (they created it...they have rights to it), and they later remove it for whatever reason, and then later on quit, then they have full rights to do so. Quitting really is not a factor at all.

Globals only step in on staff deleting things when a staff member deletes the server (like all of the levels on a server or all of the NPCs). The rest is the playerworlds responsibility.

It is said that anything you submit to a playerworld is Graal Onlines property, but there is no rule saying that the creator cannot remove what they created if they still work on the server. Heck, if you uploaded something to a server and could never delete it because of a global rule, then everyone should be global banned since everyone has deleted an NPC at one point.

It is all backed up, if someone does remove something the manager of the server can ask for it to be restored by Stefan/unixmad. You are not allowed to remove content from a server just because you leave it.

Either way it's no major problem unless it's as big as deleting the server.

Don't use copyrighted material. That is the law. Actual law. As for anything else, who cares?

Abusive staff weapons? So what.
Jailing without reason? Blah.

It is their playerworld that they paid for and no one is forced to visit it. Do with it as they please.

If there isn't a written rule set it would be possible for a PWA member to specify something as a rule that the others might not agree on.

I would be fine with the abusive weapon/npcs thing as long as this is only enforced for public servers.

Thats stupid, leave the local problems to local staff. If the staff can't handle it, then you get the globals. Abusing staff weapons shouldn't be a global ban. It makes graal fun.

Yeah, and they abused to an extent that players were un-able to move around the server to to masses of staff blocks.

Especially when the Manager did not give permission for said content to be removed because it was being used.

If there is no rule, and a person can simply remove content just because they still work there, then quit...What is the point in Giving Developement staff rights to do the job if we have to worry about them getting upset and removing their stuff before quitting, and leaving the server in a mess, because it is perfectly legal?

I was always told that if staff make something for a PW, it cannot be removed or used elsewhere without the Managers/owners consent.

You can't remove something from a server when the only reason is that you're quitting. If you have reason to remove something that you created, then you can remove it.

But I see where this thread is going. Last I checked, the PWA rules did not state anything on deletion of anything on a level as an offense. It's quite obvious you get in trouble for deleting a server, but the globals don't step in on little things. Every manager should have back-ups of everything. If not, then do as Rick said, and ask Stefan or Unixmad for backups.

But most of it is a playerworlds responsibility. It seems now-a-days PWA are enforcing rules that don't exist, because they are not all in the PWA rules thread.

It is my understanding, that deleting content without the Manager's permission has always been against global rules...and again, I am asking for PWA/stefan confirmation

Once again, if that were true then everyone would be global banned. Why? Because when you upload something to a server, it becomes property of Graal Online, right? Well, if you really thought what you just said, then everyone would be global banned, not only for deleting content without the managers permission, but for deleting content that was not theirs.

If it does not say it there, then it is not an official rule. The point of this thread was so that every rule be written down. Many players do not follow rules unless they are written down and official (hence probably a reason why this thread was started).

That thread may be a bit outdated, but that is not the players fault.

Now you see why I created this thread.

There are a lot of rules which are not clear.

I mean...how many rules have been said, but not confirmed to be a real rule?

I want an updated list of Global Playerworld rules...I think we all do.

Eh Moonie I know how you feel. Recently on Exiled some nub got mad at me and wiped some of my work off after I think it was Houdini popped on and said to remove some rape and anti-black person npc. Not sure why the person took it out against me, so whatever I fired and banned that little bastard.
The payer tried to get him banned globally, but Calani said since it wasn't anything major the guy won't be global banned. The local ban is still set and I'll kill that nub anytime I see him on another server.
For you Moonie I suggest doing the same to that person that effed you guys over and go get backups of the stuff that guy wiped out for no other reason besides having a 'hissy omg i don't like u fit".
