How did you get there?

Many people ask, how I got where I am today, In graal. Its rather interesting to look at the many events in your graal history, that might have influenced where you are today. One of those, random thoughts you have

Here's my story:

-Started off playing classic briefly then moved to UN.

-On UN got interested in how to make things, created my first house with the famous 'beer script'.

-Met Snakeandy and Wan, two level makers started creating a playerworld called 'Tabisan'.

-Playerworld obviously never took off, just being a newbie project. Moved to Mithica got my first job as NAT. Learned quite alot there. This is also when I met Chrisz and anU.

-Moved to Andor, as a scripter was there for quite some time. Andor then was converted into Bravo.

-By this time, I was doing quite alot of scripting, from one playerworld to the next.

-ERA. Dawn of a new one for me at that, Chrisz talked angel into me being NPC Admin there, having met him on Mithica.

-Became Co Manager, then Manager.

-Padren, from GK asked me to help with a few scripts for dustari, this giving me debug access.

-Left graal for a good month, because of reasons outside of graal, obviously handing over managment.

-Came back to graal, not for era, but i thought I may aswell put my skills to good use and so I became GST.

Post your story

-Started playing Graal late 99 with one of my best friends from real life. I Went by the name "Xavier".

-Got involved in the sparring community, meeting and befriending people like people like NYChris, Mercury, The Game, Entrancer, ect.

-Moved to N-Pulse shortly in mid 2000, worked as a GP.

-Moved back to Classic for awhile in early 2001, joined the family "Chill" making me Xavier Chill.

-Left Graal for awhile to play Lineage 1

-Came back, was GP on N-Pulse again for a second time, this time making it to Senior Captain under Nemesis.

-Quit Graal again for Lineage 1 in mid 2002. Pretty much stayed off Graal late 2002- Mid 2004, except for 1-2 months here and there where I would play UN, Era, Classic, or N-Pulse.

-Returned to Classic Mid-2004, worked as LAT for a short while, and left due to personal reasons.

-Became LAT on N-Pulse, made it to Admin in about 2 months, then Asst Manager when Moonie took over.

-Quit Asst Manager on N-Pulse 2 days ago.

-Chillin' like a Villain. Mostly playing Era, until Guildwars comes out.

I started off playing Classic (most of the time defending my seat on top of Deeto's house I believe it was) pre P2P, joined TAW right before they found out the owner was a guy (Go Contego!), eventually becoming Queen.

Made Goddesstown after practicing level making for awhile, and tried to get it uploaded onto Classic back when you had to upload your levels to be approved online, where it was denied several times...eventually, I got mad and sent my levels to N-Pulse (to Geosgirl), and she asked me if I would be interested in becoming a LAT there.

Gave up Queen of TAW, moved to NP, and became a LAT, then LAT Captain, LAT Chief, then Manager when Geovanie gave it to Moon God and I.

After years of Managing NP, I finally handed management over when things came to a stand-still...I finally became a GP to help, then GP Captain, then became a LAT because they needed help in that area...then quit as I refused to work under the Management (NP changed Management a couple of times after I quit).

Became supermod of the Graal forums

Finally decided to get NP back because Management was corrupt, and here we are

- Started playing Graal right after it was renamed from Zelda Online, my brothers Roman and Kojita (NK) introduced the game to me
- Met Darwin who introduced me to the F3>save then F2>load feature graal used to have when it didnt have accounts, still talk to him to this day, my other memory from the time was Pachuka running around with a death sword.
- Quit until around 1999-2000 where i returned and joined my first guild, Graal Mafia... haha
- Graal Mafia died
- Joined a guild called StatiC with Scalper as the leader.(Met people like Blade Chill and Nomad)
- Got involved with sparring like crazy, it was the best thing ever on graal.
- Joined LAT on classic, I was fired from Tyhm about 4 days later
- Joined NBK, which I have been with for like 4-5 years or so.(Met people like Ange, Dayson, Shayde, Minoc, Darkman, Digger, Draxi, DeathChill and many others)
- Joined Mr. Bears Global Graphics team along with KawaiSaria
- Started a project with Contego for a playerworld called Shaded Legend
- Shaded Legend was accepted to be put on the playerworld list, I was LAT Chief
- Graal Radio Network with Rastaad Jashid came out, probably the most fun I have ever had on graal, at this point classics playercount was in the 300's
- Around this time 2k1 came out at some point and I was addicted to that for a while
- Became owner of Shaded Legend
- Eventually became the Assistant Global Graphics Admin
- Soon I was promoted to Global Account Manager
- Not long after I was promoted to Global Account Administrator
- Kept my job for about 6 months then quit graal all together (March 02)
- Came back May 2004 to help out Shaded Legend
- Became LAT Chief, then Owner once again.

I'm sure some of these are out of order, my memory isnt the best. There is much more too.

Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
-Started Graal on v2.05
-Played classic with real-life friends for some time, completed all of classics quests (well most) twice around.
-Started playing other servers such as Sanstrata (I played lots when it was closed off to a temp world of about 7levels, but when it actually opened I didn't like it, lol). Moved onto Xone, and gained about 10,000,000g when some FAQ Captain quit and sprayed the server with money, so sticked around to play more with my new found fortune.
-After reading the forums and hearing about 'Bravo' (Although they were talking about the old Bravo) I decided to upgrade to Gold to see what the fuss was about, the next day Bravo went boom and they stopped developing it and then it soon went offline.
-Moved onto Graal2001 for a while, then Andor when I got my first job as Auctioneer and LAT. Moved onto Rudora and went FAQ > FAQ Captain > FAQ Chief > GP > GP Chief > Admin > Co-Manager > Manager.
-Got PWA job, thanks to Nemesis and Angel, and left Rudora.
-Eventually got PWA Admin job
-Super mod here?
-After Lyndzey quit I requested a new acc admin, but no one else was trusted, so I took over that too.
-Present day

Where to begin =x

First I started off on Classic (the only server at the time). This was back when everything sucked, including the levels. Like Avalon was just fugly placed under the overworld. Like it used to be on the mainland.

Over time I use agressive tactics to take a guild called Graal Royal Army. A pretty popular guild at the time, we fought the Venture Vampires and whatnot.

Then I started to go to Xonline a lot, I was following a girl named Celestia (probably my best friend at the time). That's where I met Missing Link Merai and Kawaii Saria and whatnot (Kawaii was actually an owner of Xonline at the time). I made a lot of good friends on Xonline including Outpost (former Valikorlian Admin, well known there) and Axel (if you dont remember Axel then you must be ***). On Xonline I also met a (b/w)itch that people called Undine, the self proclaimed Queen of Graal. Think an Etien, only worse (yes, worse). I suppose my first ammount of clout came when I defeated her on Xonline and Classic by swaying opinions. She went to Dino Land and they basicly banned her. Yeah, then they made 2k1 and I was reluctant to join it because everyone else was all 'OMG P2P ISH TEH GEHY'. I was one of those newbies with a sign post saying 'YOU CANT MAKE US PAY!'.

So I upgraded shortly after that. I got Axel to upgrade too. In the start we basicly just stayed in the admin house. That's where we met CheeToS, James, and.....(GAH WHAT WAS HIS NAME? SLYP? something like that?). Basicly I tried to enslave the bomies, because at the time it was crazy unbalanced with pearl diving (because 5 gralats was actually something back in the day). That failed. Around that time I was really hooked into The Godfather, so I made the Warhare Family. It kind of turned into a different kind of guild. I'll talk about it all when I quit or something. None the less, I joined Dustari and met Tupper, Gryffon, and Aftershock. I quickly rose through the ranks. Within a month I was a Duke, mainly because I owned 51% of Dustari's coffers. I suppose that's when I started to become well known.

I was hired for all the 2k1 jobs. At the time Kamuii was manager of 2k1 and King of Dustari, never really met him much . I was selected Zormite Governor for Dustari, but it went wrong so I just conquered it instead. Became leader and blah blah blah.

I'm getting tired of writing. So basicly I made a lot of friends and got their help for my success. Basicly what shockedfrog's quote says. I also got jobs on a lot of servers doing work. A majority of my success dealt with being assertive, leadership, oldbie status, and I guess personallity? I dunno.

Mhm.. My history.

I got Graal when a friend told me about this great online game that was free. So, I signed up and began playing Enigma Graal. We got a few of our other friends to join up and play with us. Our other friends quit and we continued playing, eventually joining Holy Crusader. Eventually, we noticed that was a level editor for graal and that you could submit playerhouses to most servers. We became fascinated with levels, taking hours making the simplest house or figuring out how to make a door open and close with a script.

Then there was a drastic turnpoint. Something bad had happened in my friend's family, causing him to quit Graal for good. I continued alone eventually meeting people like Warcaptain, BinaryCrash and Consolamentum. By that time, I had realized that there were other servers that you could F2P on, mainly which were Classic and Unholy Nation. On Classic, I used to hang out at the guild tower thing almost all the time I was on, so one day a guild (Can't recall the name) asked me to join... My first global guild!

There is a foggy spot in between that, but I seem to remember bugging random people to let me join their guilds.

Then P2P came out. My dad agreed to pay for my account. I played Graal 2001 and Graal Kingdoms A LOT. Eventually my subscription ran out. I went to Babylon and became Events Team, my first staff job. I got fired because the players had been spreading bs about me.

There is another foggy spot here. Next part I can remember, I was extremely interested in sparring and level-making. For a length of time that is all I did. Soon I had joined Baddies. I was kicked from Baddies for inactivity about a month later, but then became LAT on Maloria. I also continued to practice sparring and joined SNC (which, again I was kicked for inactivity.)

My LAT skills and my sparring skills increased daily after I came back from a month playing Diablo, and soon, I had an offer I couldn't refuse. I had been asked to work on Babylon, along side Gerami, Inferno and a few others (around 2 months ago). Because of the Malinko incident, I was fired along with pretty much everyone else. Now today, I work hard to restore Maloria and also spar a lot.

Yeah, sorta long, but oh well.

Yeah, uhh.. I thought you quit?

Didn't you also tell me that you hid npcs throughout Maloria (flag changers) so you can still sell items for USD or cross-server trade?

Just recalling some of my aim messages with you.. I would see why you were fired

Shaun is a jewel in the roughShaun is a jewel in the rough
I do not claim total accuracy on these events or the order in which they appear. I can recall things I left out but have no idea of where they fit in at all. My memory is fuzzy on this, so I'll try my best:

-I was looking for more information on the new Zelda 64 game that was coming out soon. I was excited, as I loved the Legend of Zelda series and there was going to be, for the first time, a 3D version. I believe once I typed in a search engine "Zelda Online", looking for an Zelda 64 information online (as in on the internet). I stumbled upon a neat little java game that looked like Zelda for the SNES. The neat part was there were other people on there. They tried to shoot arrows at me, but the arrows were really slow, so you could dodge them. Because I only had a 28k modem, stuff was slow, so I didn't really play this too much. I believe this started sometime in '98.
-One day, I noticed a link on the website with this game, that link being GraalOnline.com. I registered an account and started playing it. It had a slightly more active community.
-On Main Server, the first guild I almost joined was a guild *JasoX was trying to make. People were different in Graal back then. I was a newbie, but that was a cool thing. He approached me and asked me if I wanted to join his guild or wanted help with anything. His guild requirements were that one had to wear only black or gray or combinations of those colours. I ended up not joining after I couldn't find him anymore.
-I started playing on these fun playerworld things, using programs called GServers that came with the latest Graal version. I played on Damasca, Odin, and a little bit of Bravo Online. I also tried a little bit of Mantara (through Stefan's brother Matt's house) and Khalaria (you entered it through main world down in some swamp I think).
-I found out that my friend, Hylian, at Zelda-Temple (where I used the alias 'Culex', because I really like Mario RPG :P) also played GraalOnline. We talked about it and such, and eventually we got KawaiiSaRia of Zelda-Temple to try Graal. She later had amazing success as a graphics person, I believe.
-I became very interested in Graal levels. I was very amateurish though, ignoring putting mailboxes (with the grass on the tile edges) over sand tiles. I became friends with Bar Giora, Ange, and Zero33 of the LAT on Main Server. With their aid, I eventually got a lot better with levels, and it became my interest.
-I briefly joined the Shadow Dragons, who at the time were really important for playerworlds and such, as they had many npc's available for download. My time there was brief because they shut down and disbanded shortly after my joining.
-Graal Online started to host playerworlds itself, making many traditional GServers shut down to use the newer Graal engine. My friend, Richard, whom I had known in real life and introduced to Graal, tried getting me to join various levels teams. Eventually, he landed me spot of Head LAT (Head of the LAT I guess) for a server awaiting going online, Dolphonia. Dolphonia was made by Delph Inc. and Delta. There I remet KawaiiSaRia, for she was GFX Admin there. Dolphonia was really nice and I gained much experience from that. Unfortunately, Ghost_Hacker well, hacked it.
-I had joined the Main Server LAT. My time was brief, as I enjoyed an administrative position better and got really bored with the LAT job. I liked having the creative power. I really prefer macromanagement to micromanage.
-I had played on Damasca, when it came to GraalOnline's servers. Unfortunately, it shut itself down, refusing to aid GraalOnline (previously GraalOnline had released the GServer for everybody to use, but later said it was "illegal" to use it and went around shutting GServers).
-I started hanging out at a forum called AllGraal. Others that were there included Bhala, KawaiiSaRia, Kaimetsu, and DarkCloud.
-I joined the Main Server LAT again, thinking I could try to work on the team this time. I worked on a pyramid quest, but then left afterwards.
-I started trying servers and stuck with Mithica for awhile. Soon enough, Graal was going p2p (it was project NewMain's coming. We did not know at the time one day Graal would be completely p2p). I was protesting this on Mithica until the end.
-I started playing on a beta world called Sanstrata. It was a lot of fun, and eventually I got a position on the LAT. I was charged with more responsibility and thus creative power than I had for Main Server. Eventually I became Assistant Levels Admin (the Levels Admin being Sabin who was also Owner). When Sabin left, Prozac became owner and I became the Levels Admin.
-Sanstrata was eventually hacked, and rather than put up the old levels, new levels were worked on. A lot of chaos happened and I personally didn't like the new Sanstrata.
-Sanstrata ended up being shut down. I played on Main Server until they announced it was going to be full p2p. I left.
-A year or two after I had left Graal, Crono AIM'ed me to tell me to help with something. I updated Graal and went to Delteria, as he had requested. I found the pk'ing fun, now that I had a cable modem (not the 28k I had before). I ended up staying, just to pk. Eventually, somebody upgraded my account for me. I had a bit of fun for a year and a half, but I left Graal to work on my own game project, Everworld. I pretty much don't care for GraalOnline anymore. I liked the community, I don't like the product.

Well...

I started playing 1.0 back in 98 or 99 or something. I quit when 1.2 came out, but started playing again when Graal 2001 came out. I sucked up to Stefan and became Graal Help (my first job ), where I then worked my way up to FAQ Chief. I somehow got the Events Admin job (I don't remember who I sucked up to to get that job though) and then became Police Chief. Finally I became "ART Asst Admin". I don't remember what ART stood for but it had something to do with resetting accounts (extremely complicated task). I then went over to Graal Classic (I don't know if it's still called that these days...) where I worked as a GP. I eventually got the job as GP Chief even though I had barely been a GP. Soon Nemesis or someone I don't remember hired me as Accounts Admin. I don't remember how long I worked as Accounts Admin, but it was pretty near 2 years. I couldn't pay for my phone bill after my junior year of college, and so I had no internet. Eventually I just faded away...until today...

Haha, no way. ART was actually a serious staff team? I thought it was just a front for admins to get their unqualified friends access into the RC chat room.

- Played Classic for a long time.
- Started playing playerworlds.
- Started development for playerworlds.
- Marched on Archaic and literally demanded a job there.
- Recieved job on Archaic and met MarkB, Bloo Kat, Ningnong, and tinker-bell.
- MarkB hired R0bin, made friends with R0bin.
- R0bin showed GKD some of my graphics and they hired me
- Hung around GKD a lot and then became GP on GK.
- Got fired, quit other GK jobs (EM) and then took a break from GK development.

- Used to play MUDs with "Caius"
- Caius told me that Graal was like a graphical MUD, so we began playing years ago (heck if I know when) on N-Pulse.
- Became interested in how to make levels, discovered a tutorial on the old website. I know how to use the level editor, but I am not creative enough to make anything great
- Left for a while, came back.
- Met "Android" on N-Pulse; he was a GP. He let me join SeeD, although my guild tag didn't work until months later since the guildcp was broken.
- Android and I made a new town for N-Pulse with a heart quest; It was terrible, and we never submitted it.
- I became interested in scripting, and I looked at the Newbie Scripter's Bible; I didn't understand a word of it, so I just tried things out until I got it right. I was amazed after I created a light that moved back and forth on the x-axis.
- Became interested in Graal2001 the day ghost mode was released; I bought an account the same day.
- Begged Kamuii to let me become an auctioneer all the time, and he never let me
- Submitted an application for Police to Alkaren; he didn't let me join
- I learned about serverside scripting from Rabid and screen_name.
- Tried out some serverside stuff on Frolic (Cybnext gave me RC to learn)
- Joined Zormite somewhere around this time, eventually became Emperor along with Caius; I was bad at it.
- AlexH became Police Chief, and he let me join
- It is kind of fuzzy here; I somehow became an auctioneer.
- AlexH stepped down, I became Police Chief.
- There was a very serious bug in the Minotaur monster in the dungeons that let players get tons of items; Kamuii couldn't script, and I had basic knowledge. I coaxed him into giving me NC rights; he did, and I disabled the bug so I could look at it more and fix it. Kamuii was happy, and I think he left the NC rights there.
- One of my Police officers, either HoudiniMan or Zurkiba (sorry, don't remember which one) decided it was a good idea to hack. I fired whichever one it was, and made the mistake of not banning him. Alkaren demoted me to Assistant Police Chief, and CORPSE was made Police Chief.
- Corpse just idled, I became Police Chief again.
- I did random scripting jobs for the server and made some projects of my own.
- <insert long period of time>. Joined #gscript. Lots of people asked me for scripting help, and I helped them.
- Became interested in GST since I was kind of doing their job. Spoke with some people and Stefan, and was later given global rights.
- It hasn't been long, and I've helped Zodiac with a very strange problem, and I've helped N-Pulse a few times, including getting their NPC-Server back up; A script caused it to crash and it wouldn't start back up. I'm glad that I could help the server I began playing on

Well, lots of leveling jobs and my work on eXodia got me noticed by Spark910 we got talking and I started working on Rudora, after a few months got management quit shortly after.

Worked on several playerworlds which never got anywhere, started talking to Ducati about N-Pulse and I then helped N-Pulse with levels. I then quit N-Pulse (I now wish I hadn't, bad move) and worked on another playerworld. It obviously failed so I decided to revive Zhalla (N-Pulse) and i'm now still working on it under a new alias, Rudora.

Quite boring but I guess it was fun.

Waltz5 is an unknown quantity at this point
- Started on Graal 3000 (wasn't that the name?) due to a real life friend.
- Became a FAQ on G3K.
- Real life friend quit Graal, I got a P2P account and went to Graal 2001.
- Starting making levels.
- Got a job on Faheria making levels, but that project stopped.
- Worked on Doragon Koden with G_Yoshi.
- Spent countless hours on Graal 2001, met some great people, namely DragonX.
- Became Police on Graal 2001.
- Became FAQ on Graal 2001.
- Became Level Maker on Graal 2001 (Kamoo hired me)
- Graal 2002 came out, I played there a little bit, but was still loyal to Graal 2001.
- Bought a server and started working with Androk and Twusk on Hartland.
- Played GK more often than Graal 2001.
- Didn't reupgrade my account or server, Hartland fizzled out, and I lost contact with everyone pretty much.
- 2 Years of no Graal
- Came back this February, upgraded my account.
- Got my job on 2k1 back, but then left after that giant fiasco.
- Currently playing Graal Kingdoms.

Cheetos, I remember Caius. Always was a red Zormite I believe, he was awesome, do you still talk to him at all?

Well, for me, there's not really a lot that was gotten to. But...

-Heard about Graal Online from some guy on the FFG Forums several years ago.
-Started playing on Classic.
-Continued playing for a long time.
-Hired as an FAQ on Classic.
-Resigned from FAQ position a few months later for person reasons.
-Continued playing Classic, and later on spending some time on Maloria.
-Possibly made you read this boring post.
-Continued being addicted to Graal for years to come.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Thanks! I also think your Wiki profile is quite amusing. Especially where it links to your 'farewell' thread.

  • Found Graal for the first time. Mystical black triangles appeared from nowhere due to lag! Fled in terror, then forgot about Graal.
  • Found Graal again, this time it lagged less! Played for a month or two, eventually forgetting about Graal.
  • Found Graal yet again, played for some months, faded away after losing interest.
  • Found Graal even yet again, played for some months, faded away after losing interest.
  • Found Graal again, wandered into a mystical place with horses that frolicked. Magic was abundant. Then of course, lost interest.
  • Found Graal again, met a guy named Joe, learned some stuff. Discovered an island-peninsula-thing with a nifty bridge! Of course, I lost interest and forgot about Graal.
  • *insert many more occurences of playing Graal for a little bit, then losing
    interest*
  • Found Graal again, found out about the non-official servers. Joined as staff on a server that Prozac ran, can't remember the name of it. Eventually that server shut down and I made my own little server for a little bit.
  • Came across a bunch of friends that I still to this day talk to.
  • Ran some gservers.
  • Did some evil stuff.
  • Later on I was NAT on Delteria for a little bit when IcePick ran it.
  • Did some more evil stuff.
  • (Sept/Oct 2001?) Got my first gold account, Thought.
  • (Nov 2001) Did the most evil thing ever!
  • Ran two more gservers.
  • Lost interest.
  • Found Graal again, played various servers. None really he could call home.
  • Started Graal.us and other stuff.
  • Started playing Era, met some cool people, shortly afterwards was hired by Angel as staff on Era.
  • Era junk, Played Graal2002 from time to time.
  • Quit staff on Era due to various reasons.
  • #gscript!
  • Got this account, Rick, from Stefan!
  • (Jan/Feb '05?) Awhile later, accident causes Graal.us to be removed unrecoverably.
  • *insert nothing*
  • (Mar '05) Gets hired as Developer on Era again.
  • (Mar '05) Starts his own playerworld, World.
  • (April '05) *now*
Uh, I'm aware of *lack of the dates and such, I have a horrible memory for
this. If any of you might happen to have any real dates for this stuff let me
know.

-Aug '00, found Graal, played offline because of AOL parental controls (didn't realise that was the problem)
-I am amazed and bedazzled at the prospect of developing crap in Graal, spend lots of time doing so
<some time passes>
-I manage to get online and play the main server
<more time passes>
-p2p comes out, I don't take part (not completely by choice)
<stuff happens, I become a junior in HS>
-I play less online and more offline learning how to script various things
-discover the forums
-get an account on the forums
-get my own account on the forums
<stuff dealing with posting random stuff on forums, helping out with some playerworlds mostly to learn npc-server, and #gscript>
-who knows?
