Graal 3.0

Stefan will you please allow graal to use somesort of 24 bit image file. My playerworld tileset with only a few tiles gos way over 256 colors. Ive tryed spliting the tileset in to 7 peices and it worked I got full detail. But when I add more tiles in the future I will have to make it in to like 60 peices. So can you please add some sort of 24 bit image file for graal to accept in level editing please?

Yes it supports full mng standard, including 24bit, alpha-channels, jpeg inside the image etc.

In other words we can finally use the full capabilities of our graphics programs and the PNG/MNG format instead of having to save as an inefficient, 256-color GIF and convert again?

And JPEG you say?

Talking I can't wait for this version to come out.

I am very glad to learn that the engine will include 24-bit color support in the newer releases. I have been having the same problems like davidpsy with our custom tileset for End of Ages. I have been doing graphics long enough to know the best methods of color reduction, but even using those methods, the 24-bit files will usually look better than the reduced version.

It is not so much in the fact that all the tiles have fancy graphics, but in the fact that you can have millions of colors in the tileset instead of just limiting yourself to 256 unique colors. When you want to add a new color in the 8-bit file, assuming you are already using 256 unique colors, you usually have to delete a color in order to free up an entry on the color table or hope for a close enough color replacement when you reduce the image.

I am hoping this release comes out soon so it will make things easier for me and a lot of the other graphic people on graal.

Take Care & Pixels Beware,

Spark910 has a spectacular aura about
People better use the new features, and still not make a dull boring recolor with no purpose at all other than to fill up some space on a hard drive and server.

I think 2 NPCs placed ontop of one another will appear to fight for dominance, you'll see one image, over the other, and then it will switch.... Maybe npc index could be taken into account, so NPC that are at the same place would be drawn ontop of eachother by index.
