Sorry I'm a bit late, I read the first post here a while ago and just forgot about this thread.
If these supermods are so confident they are doing a good job and the users like it, how about we have a poll to see if the users are happy with the work they have done ? And if they aren't, then they step down ?
I think that would be reasonable seeing as they believe they are doing a good job and the users like it.

I believe I am doing what Unixmad wants, he is the one who hired me for the job, I will step down if he tells me that I am not doing the job that he requires me to do...got it? Good
Its like in a real life job....if your boss tells you to do something a certain way, and you go against him and do it another way because people get upset at the way your boss told you to do it, you get fired.....got it? Good
