Ok, to end the off-topic posting, I did some research as it has been several years since I have dealt with ADD/ADHD, and it appears that you are right in a sense. All they did was name it ADHD, ADD being like a sub catagory of ADHD so to speak:

Is there a difference between ADD & ADHD?
The main difference is one of terminology. ADD which stands for Attention Deficit Disorder, is used by many as a kind of generic term for all types of ADHD.

This term has gained popularity among the general public, and is also commonly used among professionals as well. ADD was the name given to ADHD in 1980 by the American Psychiatric Association, which later changed it to its current “official and clinical” term of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in 1994. This name change occurred as a result of scientific advances and careful clinical trials.

Researchers now support the position that ADHD is not a specific disorder with different variations.

It is divided into three subtypes, based upon the symptoms of inattentiveness/distractibility, impulsivity, and hyperactivity:
- Combined Type,
- Predominantly Inattentive Type, (ADD)
- Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Type (ADHD)

So in the end, whether it is called ADD or ADHD it is basically referring to the same thing.

So, you were right, I was wrong (the "go to college" bit was uncalled for though...no need to be a jerk about it....
