The Graal 'Bible'
 

While looking at the Graal Bible today, I noticed the place isn't really organised, nor is it very pretty :frown:. I'm not sure who manages all that stuff, but I've got a few suggestions in order to improve organisation and consistency to make the place a bit better.

Below are some examples of categories, then the pages and trailing-offs that could be made from them. We already have a lot of these pages, but not all of them are linked or set this way.

There are also a lot more wiki features that aren't being used that could be. For example, you could use "infobox" for information such as Guild Tag, Guild Full Name, Established Time, Member Count, Guild Status -- Allies, Enemies, Preferred Worlds, etc.

To be honest, if it looked better visually and it was more organised, I think it would be used much more. I'm not even sure if it's linked on the website or not? That could also increase people using it.

You are aware that contributions are needed for a wiki...right? Contribute more!

You're also aware that you can re-organize things. However, I don't see a problem with how things are organized. Which part(s) of the wiki do you think is un-organized?

I would do that too, but it's not up to me to just go around and organize everything, lol. I think things like the events which have been posted, some of them are forums, most of them are Kingdoms, maybe they should go under a Kingdoms header? Things like that.

x_x What do you mean, "edit a few things"? I'm very familiar with wiki's, it was just a suggestion on the layout and organization, I could do it myself.

Yeah, I don't see the point. I thought you could contribute to wiki's yourself? Can't someone here edit them?

Um why is Graal so often like "DO IT YOURSELF AND SHUT UP" when that clearly is the main problem in so many aspects of this game? At least he's making suggestions for improvement, what are all of you doing? Insulting him for CONTRIBUTING, and yes, that is what he's doing. Suggesting IS contributing.

Show some compassion and, dare I say it, sense(from what I can tell it seems to be something the majority of you posters in this thread avoid, so sorry if it is offensive to you).

Why are you telling me to read someone else's points when you're the main troll in here? Come up with some of your own, like maybe additional suggestions for the Graal Wiki. As of now, all you have contributed is a slew of completely rude and senseless banter, discouraging anyone from contributing anything. Grow up, boy.

I'm just tired of the bickering going on between them, when any one of them could of updated it ... its insane.

What Rufus is trying to say is that the people responsible for each page should fix em up. For example if I made a 30 page story about Googi's depressing history, I should atleast put some time to organize it by chapter (Introduction to Graal, Crossdressing, Owning on the forums, Kai's Mystery, etc).

Also the fact that members have limited access in what they can do...for example deleting stuff.

Then again, technically we have unlimited access: We can upload a new index, new chapter pages, etc, just have to edit the front page to show that index instead.

But yeah, it'd be better done by someone with unrestricted power.

on a more serious note, wikis are starting to become overrated. in my opinion they should never replace proper homepages. :\

Proper Homepages, no, but repositories of knowledge is/are right up their alley. If Graal is no longer getting word From On High answering our many scripting questions, a Wiki is perfect for sharing our wisdom amongst ourselves.

We still have the problem of a naturally combative system of graalvernment, but that's life.

i feel that they don't care about the normal homepage anymore and just rely on the wiki...i mean what happened to the good ol bunches of news and such? they can atleast say something about the game world :(

Oh my yes, they DO need to finish with the whole new website they promised 6 months ago. See also: The How To Save Graal conflagration. Which is too bad, some of us were looking forward to the advertising campaign.

On the other hand, they never deigned to charge annually for the lifetime accounts, so no worries.
