Few Things That Might Save Kingdoms
For anyone who remembers me, I'm Stryker. Saren Mirahgnus of Forest, yada yada. I haven't felt like paying anymore money for Kingdoms till it's "saved", so I've been playing Guild Wars lately. I got to thinking...you know...a lot of what Guild Wars does could really help Kingdoms. Here we go.
Lower the max level. Why you ask? Few reasons. One, it'll force players to specialize in one area. Right now people can do magic, physique, the whole works. This will also cut back on the time players spend leveling and give more time for RPing, something that used to be really fun back when the max level was like 15 for most people. Create better quests. A big problem with Kingdoms is how things are done. Kingdoms is full of great ideas done wrong. Quests, being the best example, can be really fun mini events throughout the Graal world. Instead, we've been given simple, "Go here, pick up this item, come back." quests. If a better quest system were created, we could then make it so players could do quests in order to Enchant their weapons and armors, rather than trust power levelers to do it. This would also be the solution if the max level were to be dropped as I suggested. Skills for Classes. Every game that I've played which involved Classes in some way had a special skill set for each class making them unique. Kingdoms, however, has an open system where your class is basicly your starting stats and nothing more. It'd be nice if a Warrior had defensive skills, which would bring a use to the shields in the game,or Barbarians have more offensive attacks. Right now Warriors have a simple slash that anyone can do while Mages have a whole range of spells...which brings me to my next fix. Finish what is started. As stated before, Kingdoms is full of great ideas. Problem? They're either done in a lazy fashion or not finished. I don't even know the exact number of spells that don't work, but there's a lot of them. I have more, but I'd rather get a reaction from these first. |
Thank you captain obvious.

lol. anyways the QUESTS must be fixed! they just give u a dumb list and thats it. it would be better to progress through the game by doing quest instead of going through the whole game w/o doing a quest.
GK is just mostly feeding yourself and leveling thats about it.. |

Stefan cares, but not enough to revamp the entire system. He's working on that new mudlib which will be quite amazing when it's operating Quote:
|
whats this new mudlib?
|
It's not stolen from Cross Fire, maybe.

Level cap would do nothing.
You would want an experience cap. |
GK also needs graphics work, and not just on items. Too bad that's all that seems to be done anymore. The stuff posted for improvements are only little things that are okay to go unfixed. I agree with the "Finish what's been started" thing though.
Things that need to be revamped one at a time: - Gods. - Magic. - Vehicles / pets. - The magic system. - The ganis, which have been screwing up since v3, from my knowledge. - Quests (Somewhat. They just need to be more open.) |
I think Graal needs BIG events. Not the simple, "I'm going to hold a raffle/water race/kart race/insert building on events isle here" type. I mean something big, that would give the world some sort of story. Kingdoms is the way it is, because after a certain point, fighting the monsters is useless, and all that's left is fighting amongst themselves.
Perhaps the bomies need to return, give the citizens a common enemy to work against. Come up with enemies that have to be defeated in ways other than just beating their AC. Maybe an enemy that's covered in ice, and is completely impervious to attacks, until someone melts it with a firebolt of course. Have events where the Kingdom Islands are invaded, and if they're unable to fight them off, then the kingdom suffers some sort of penalty (Occupation by monsters for a time? Makes traveling difficult. Perhaps the ferry would be afraid to stop there in the meantime too). The bomies invaded the old lands, it stands to reason that they wouldn't let the survivors escape them that easily. Anyway, just my ranting. |

Well, I see it this way>
We pay these lazy nerds $30 USD each six months (or I guess 60 if u go for a year) to keep things moving. Yes, tis only thirty dollars every SIX months, but do that times I think about 300-500 people, your making average salery. SO EITHER GET OFF UR ARSES STAFF AND MAKE THE GAME BETTER, OR MAKE IT FREE |

Eh.. just my view form the standpoint of a poor-er person than most..

well today a bunch of people on GK where complaining and whining on how lame GK has gotten and many of them have left, cant some admin do something besides moderate the forums?! we are losing people here!
suggestion - fix them quest |

You seem to miss the point. Just because you have difficulty completing quests due to the availability of quest items doesn't necessarily mean that they need to be fixed. |
true but, think about it not a lot od people actually do the quest on GK because the prize you get for it is dumb. Only good quest item from my opinion is the walking stick, other than that the rest are bad. It would be better if GK's quest were similar to that on UN; instead of telling us to give this to this person it should be more adventure oriented
