dude, wow lol I wish i had the patience for animating, and you should have loads of confidence, your amazing.

btw his head is abnormally large and shiny rofl

If you really are intent on getting the proportions right, just check up the greek canon of art.

Crow 11-16-2007 02:50 PM

It looks a little weird that his head is just moving up and down, since his torso moves alot. Looks like the head isnt moving with the torso, so on the extreme frames the head is stuck on the right/left side.

He used the other animations and merged them :P the head looks weird yeah ^^
but the anatomy and animation is pretty nice now

so, what do you mean? it should shift a pixel to the left and right through it? i tried that, it looked very... hm... "strange" isnt the word for it... bad. it looked bad.

youve got to consider that you arnt looking straight on at the face, your looking at the top of the head. keeping that in mind is it still oversized and weird?

it looked better with hair... which..i would post if i still had it. i didnt realize i hadnt saved the psd file after adding the head...at least i have the gif file

Elk 11-16-2007 10:21 PM

anyways here i really quickly threw on a robe and some short hair onto the guy...
does this honestly look that odd?

Tom 11-17-2007 03:09 AM

its not too big, its too wide at the top is all

alarid0 11-17-2007 09:30 AM

erm...oops...yeah i did shave off a single pixel on either side with the hair

Crow 11-17-2007 10:38 AM

No idea how you could fix the head-weirdness. I'm not that much into animating ;P

I don't know a damn about it. And I don't give a flying fart in space about it either.

I just don't like you, you seam like a spoiled little kid who's got it all from mommy.

Elk 11-17-2007 05:03 PM

That's pretty harsh :/ no need to start a brawl here. Thats all this is becoming. The graphical discussion is pretty much over anyways

Also...who are we talking about being better than Elk? Are we talking about my art? Me being better than him? I don't know about that, he's turned out a lot of top notch stuff.

Anyways yeah it's pretty much over...I almost feel like requesting for a thread closure...

(p.s. thanks for posting the animation with the head fix)

I'd go with D if the tileset was of equal quality. Yes graal kingdoms are a good start for size. but the bigger (any bigger would be overkill) you go the more detail you can put into a character's clothing and looks. thus giving a better chance to make yourself look apart from the rest. i think everyone can agree that way too many people look way too much alike on some graal servers.
