Stefan isn't doing anything right now with Graal Kingdoms.

He is either doing one of the following:

-Working on V3

-Working on Graal 3D

-Spending the loads of cash he and unixmad have gotten from the playerworlds.

If your job is in an incomplete stage, he should be able to take it back just fine because he specifically said he has the right do a bunch of things like that before you started "working" for him. And you actually got your christmas bonus by taking advantage of a flaw in his company's system of...payment x.x
You should have read the rights you gave up when you started working for him. He owns you now.

No, it's more like people making really overpowered items which never should have been there, and then taking them away because they help ruin the game.

Don't be so self-centered.

I own many alchemy items. Some I use, some I have loaned out. I dont believe in trading my good gear away, however I do loan it out to friends to help them out. I wont specify which alchemy items or how many, however. Sorry.

Not really - GK's main point is rping, and these items don't keep anyone from that. It's the players who don't rp, not the items. Besides, as I said, I don't think it's the stats themselves, but the gap they produced, so something could be done about it.

I'm not the one condoning the existence of items that the majority of people can't get.

Why don't we just ditch all stats and have items for show only, that way everyone will RP.

Wtfs...how is he being self-centred in comparison to those few people sitting here going "I worked hard for MY items, don't take them away"??

And anyway, how was the text you quoted self-centred anyway? He was considering the game as a whole and how balanced it was and how equal the chances are for -everyone-. I wouldn't call that self-centred.

2k1's hats is an answer to that one. Items would be valued by their appearance rather than usefulness. While this is better, it wouldn't help at all from an economic viewpoint. Although it'd be better for players because they too have the chance to be good now, people would be trading vast amounts of money for the best-looking equipment. Instead of spending all day trying to get the most powerful stuff, they would be trying to get the sexiest stuff, and would be paying idiotic amounts of moneys/other items for it just as they do now. It wouldn't help RP either because, as i already said 45454 times in this post, people would just become obsessed with getting good looking items rather than RPing. Imho

Yes, but if you want to have a phoenix helmet you'd have to pay less, making it easier to obtain.

Nuh uh, phoenix would probably be one of the more expensive items due to it actually having graphics, and i think it looks ok..kinda.

Good looking stuff promotes RP, rather than people just buying for stats and looking like clones. Gunbound is a good example of this (not RPing, but most people look exactly the same since all they want are stats).

I completely disagree - RP is something that takes place in a group of people, not within a pile of items. You can rp with/on/about items, but the rping comes from you, not the item. I do agree that more different looks wouldn't hurt, and I also think there should be more diverse items - I wouldn't even mind some with stat +3, as long as it has another one -3 or -4 - and I'm not talking about cha or int which nobody really needs in combat anyway.

Monkeyboy_McGee 01-27-2004 10:30 PM

I'm going to have to disagree with both of you a bit, here, and agree a bit too X_X

What i mean was, protagonist, that people will just want to look "cool" instead of have fun RPing. I was referring to them spending all their time trying to get the non-accessible items rather than RPing with the many many interesting armours and such we already have. The only way getting rid of stats and just making things for show only would be to make alchemy and event items accessible, nay, even craftable [?]!

And, yeah satrek, while RPing lies within people rather than items, my feelings about RPing on graal (and especially the ever-pretty GK) deviate from this statement a little. See, my personal opinion on graal-RPing is that you RP in the game in order to take advantage of the visual assets it has, so that you may use things like props, clothing and such, to enrich your roleplay and to inspire you more easily and stuff; prompts for conversations, etc. Whereas in a chat room or on a forum, you have to write and describe your clothing, weaponry, other physical appearances, etc etc, on graal you have the visual aid there for you and your fellow RPers to facilitate, and you can actually move that character around to make your actions more clear. I also find this much more enjoyable than just sitting and typing *quicky ducks behind the person* and leaving it onscreen for someone else to imagine =X
I know you may disagree on this since you tend to prefer RPing in toguilds, satrek ;)

You do have a point, but you still need to rp so this plain black dagger becomes the shard of a demon's bone you came across in your youth, almost got yourself killed, till his own wrath collapsed the cave you found him in, crushing the creature under tons of mountainside, while his leg remained unharmed and you crafted a weapon from it, inventing stories about how you slew the demon in it's sleep.
Or, it can be a normal weapon to "pwn".
In my opinion, looks can sure help, but they're worthless if you don't/don't know how to rp. Specially as players who accumulate allmighty items tend to invent allmighty stories, but that's beside the point.

Doesn't mean I wouldn't rp on screen, but the system does not promote that, in my opinion, as I tend to write a longer line every now and then, exceeding the amount you can read as long as it's displayed, which is specially annoying as it doesn't get logged in some way. Imagine how rp-ish it will look if every second comment is "say again?" ;)
