Fish eating shouldn't be outlawed in Zormite. Because there is ALWAYS a bigger fish (Zormites are probally one of the biggest)

Protesting against eating fish sounds like... well, rping, isn't that what it's all about? Also, why should GK's Zormite be forced to follow 2k1's Zormite's rules and roots, when what Zen has done is prospering?

What "works" and what's "right" are two very, very different things.

And in case you didn't catch it, I said that they should be protesting it all the time, not just "a few people."

Zormite were fish people, and now they aren't.

It's kind of confusing. Why call a fish-people Kingdom by its fish-people name if it's not populated by fish-people?


ps: Starting names with Z as was practiced on 2k1 for a while isn't tradition, it's just absurdity. The first Zormite emperor didn't.

You know what's really wrong with this whole thread?

1) It starts off with the Leader of another kingdom creating a gfx head of what he feels the Zormite's should use. This leader has just returned from a long absence.... to rebuild the Cresent Pirates who were nearly extict only a few weeks ago. My point here...... Don't you have enough work to do re-building your own back yard??? Ghost Pirate why spend hours working on GFX for another kingdom when you have your own kingdom problems to deal with.


2) Tseng, I'm sorry but the same goes for you. Yesterday I witnessed countless mass messages by you that were pretty much degrading the members of your own kingdom. There are obviously problems in your own back yard to deal with. Why not spend your time and energy there?

I'm sorry that I am lowering myself to "speak about individual" players and my view of their faults. But it seems that these players want to constantly point out what they see as "Flaws of the Zormite Government, or Zen's ability to follow tradition.... when they have not even managed to fix the problems in their own areas of leadership.

It's so easy to "point the finger".... but like my grandma use to say before she left this earth.... "Point a finger at some one else, and there are three fingers poiting right back at you!

Tseng I disagree. Simply because I feel having a whole fish on a person's shoulders looks dumb, doesnt mean that I am an anti-traditionalist. To turn that into tradition is silly. That head was just made from a pre-existing image, arranged properly in a head sprite layout, most probably because once apon a time somebody lacked the time and/or skill to create something original. I'm sorry but my standards would be a bit higher. I cannot for the life of me imagine how that could work in real life (a whole fish with a scaley humanoid body growing out of its belly).

And also even if Zormites were required to be a fish species on g2k2, it would still make sense for them to eat fish. Fish eat fish, so what would be the difference here? I remember commenting on the topic when it was happening in-game. I told them its not like we were related to every species of fish in the ocean, and many fish eat other fish, so theres no problem with eating fish.

I really dont appreciate you trying to cheap shot me like that. Saying I am freely admiting I dont care about tradition. Thats just plain stupid to denote a statement like that based on me being picky about my taste in gfx?

Also, why cant Zormite be respecting the Ocean and holding it sacred if they eat fish? Many native American Indian tribes greatly respected nature, but they still needed to take from it to survive...so yea they hunted and whatnot, they made sure not to be wasteful, and to be thankful..

I commend Ghosty on a job well done. The fish looks really good. Having some people with fish heads would add variety, instead of every other person having the exact same hair and head.

I would also like to ask ariella, what is up with you and the exclamation marks and quotations? You don't have to put them in every other sentence. Plus they are kinda confusing if you don't end quote alot of them.

And I agree with a lot that is being said, like the history of having fish ancestors and then turning into people. I think if Zen wants to avoid a lot of arguing, he should change the name or something like that.

What if that's how I try to make a statement?
And what if I as a Zormitian spent some time creating gfx on what Pirates should look like! And told you guys you had to wear it because your not following tradition?

As I said earlier.... I have no objection for people who come with "helpful suggestions for other kingdoms leaders. There are many in this game who do that already without creating a post to "talk against the leader himself.

Why? When we can just avoid arguing by.... not starting threads like this one.

Of course there can be, but what gives me the right as a Zormitian to start a thread that tells Cresent Pirates how they have to look, how they have to act etc. etc. It's not my place to do so! It's not my style to "focus on individual players" and start picking on their every decision... every mistake etc. This is probably the only area that I have ever done that. And it was extremely unconfortable! But again, when you are talking about Zormites and our leader, I will defend their honor, just as you Fireedragn have the need to stand up for your CP Leader!

By the way, I am sure that our governor would not mind you giving suggestions to our kingdom. Improvements are needed in our kingdom.

And I did not stand up for my governor. In fact, all I did was said that the fish looked nice, and added a much needed variety to Kingdoms. I never really played 2k1 so I don't know anything about Zormite tradition.

I am not sure that you realize how hard it would be to make somebody stop thinking one way and to keep his/her opinions to himself/herself. If you can deal with all of these people voicing their opinions then you won't have to change anything.

A) I have only EVER seen the fish thing used derogetorily against the Zormites, screen snaps of 'fish fries' outside the castle, remarks about the fishead people, etc, etc.

Why would anyone inflict this upon his people??
If I was Zen, I would not.


B) Tseng, Dustari traditions change as well, one minute we have a Senate, next minute we don't. 90% of our active members haven't even SEEN a 2k1 kingdom, and there is not that much talk of traditions. We have our colors, our flag, and some basic history elements. A while back (in 2k1 I think) Zurk mentioned we had people broken down into different noble houses, and it didn't work. Should someone find an 'in game solution' to that 'non-rpish' change?


C) Based on all the remarks here, it really seems the only reason anyone wants fish people in Zormite is to pick on them for...having fish heads.


D) Kingdoms *are* allowed to evolve and find their own way, a few things about Zormite traditions that *have* held strong:

1) They have never entered an aggressive war (at least since I've been here)
2) They have never fallen to an invader
3) They have always stood by their allies (generally us, Dustari) even when outnumbered and putting themselves at risk.
4) They have never allied with a nation hostile to others

I call those traditions.

I think Dustari is the only other kingdom that holds most of those (we were forced into a treaty with the Astri, ie, fell, and forced to ally with a hostile nation at that time)

I hope in the future, we still hope to those traditions.


Personally, I don't think I'd enjoy RPing in a republic as much, and the terms dictator and first lady, etc, are more modern than I would pick. I wouldn't slander Zen for it though - it's his nation and he does a good job.

I don't know, maybe some people have 'jealesouy issues' - because I can't see why anyone would attack Zen as a leader.

In times of need, when the kingdom is under heavy attack, the emperor may quickly retreat to a ancient room where the ancestors of Zormite reside, within there, reside the ancient fishmen ancients, mighty old warriors from old times wiling to defend the zormite kingdom. These fishmen are armed with the most powerful and ancient weapons from the past, including the legendary bomy bopot armor.

I guess its just a crazy idea, but you could have a elite army of fishmen in zormite, so you could keep the humans, and keep everything as now, but like a elite force of fishmen. To keep some tradition.

No... Governments can change. Races cant.

You cant be fish people one moment and then suddenly become Humans and still call yourself Zormites.

It's not to pick on. It's to bring the traditions. Not bashing. Zen is my friend, and I support the fish head thing.

Ghost Pirate, the head looks good and I think it would be nice if that head would be used along with the other current blue head. I was under the impression that someone made it with the intention of it being a Zormite head.

As for the body issue, there should be a way to change the hand color. With that system, it should work like pants and shirts. Then Zormites could be made to use a color that matches their head.

The RPing on GK is too much of a joke as it is. I remember when a friend of mine and I started playing GK (we were both familiar with G2k1 and it's RPing, but he knew more than I), he said "I find it funny how Zormite's evolved into humans, and bomy's can't even speak anymore". Any improvement should be praised and encouraged. Ghost Pirate's head is such an improvement. Just because he does not lead Zormite, it does not mean things such as this do not concern him. The RPing on GK concerns all RPers such as Ghost Pirate. With an attitude of saying noone but the kingdom itself has any word on what goes on, there could be problems. For example, it can become obvious that a kingdom has problems with RPing and isn't even trying, and the leader could just use the same excuse. How far will this go?

Why has this thread died away? What did I miss? Was the problem solved? Is there now a reason as to why Zormites are no longer fish people? The only things I could think of are that they evolved (requiring all kingdoms to agree that a huge amount of time has gone by since the time of fish people) or that the fish people where conquered by humans who just took the name "Zormite" for themselves. Keeping the name doesn't make much sense either. :\ A little help, anyone? Before I keep trying to think of reasons to make up for my confusion on this whole situation? Why not just tell me the real reason? ;)
