This thread seemed to of died, and I think that this project is way too important and could seriously help graal's popularity. (and i mean on the pc).
But in order for that to happen, people need to be somewhat drawn onto the iPhone version. Right now, no one knows what to do - there is no direction, no tutorial, no quests... there is nothing to do on this game. The game was released way too early due to lack of content. (unless this was intended to be a proof of concept, in which that is very silly..)
I think it would be a really good idea to setup a small team of developers who are willing to actually dedicate enough time to this project for a more positive outcome, and no I don't mean edit the tileset to change grass into snow, and add particle effects.
The first thing that should of been released, and still should be released is a tutorial. Something similar to the original tutorial in which you needed to push-pull some blocks, open a chest to get a bow/bomb, shoot something on a wall, and blow up a door with your bomb, fight some baddies (and i'm referring to the zelda-styled baddies, not these cheap and almost-impossible to kill with a sword baddies that are currently being used etc..
Another good idea that should be released is a quest - a taste of what is possible on this game. Let others see the true potential behind the Graal Engine. None of these new players from the iPhone preview know the true power behind the Graal Engine, and the endless possibilities that could be done. A nice spicey, unique quest could let others see the possibilities. Maybe even a quest that involves other players help as well, like the Stefan Quest back in Graal2001.
It would also be cool to implement to-alls, and maybe a playerlist. Also the ability to message people who haven't reciprocated to your friend request yet (or who you don't want to add as your friend). I realize why this wasn't added, because it would be annoying for pms to just pop up on your screen, so the playerlist idea (maybe something similar to the friends list - at least for a basic design anyway) would be good enough as of now.
Many people have already stated that they are willing to help, yet I don't think anyone has heard anything from Stefan as of recent. It would be nice of these upper-staff to let us, the players who actually care about graal - to know what they're doing so we can at least help give our input because we're the ones who are paying to play this game. |
