I do. no joke. Made it when i was 15 and put it on YouTube. Not it's just a constant reminder of how foolish i was. But i refuse to take it down as i imagine it being hilarious to watch 20 years down the road
He (and anyone else) can say/assume something will fail based on previous examples and the people involved.
Last I checked you can 'say' anything with virtually no evidence and make it a serious claim.

Case being, I too believe it has a good chance of failure... the same as you guys all saying GG will fail again. (It probably will)
Should focus on the bolded.

Granted I suppose but that's where I would differ if I was running a server. I don't care much for people showing up and doing a charity graphic or level or something and then disappearing. I'd much rather have one mediocre designer that's comitted to the project than one all-star that shows up for one day. Just a difference of opinion really.

Somewhat ignorant to even say that. Having someone pro stop by and make an epic piece for your server isn't even comparable of having an alright LAT. They're not in the same bracket, normally you wouldn't have to choose one or the other...

Please don't throw around words like ignorant when obviously you're missing the whole point. It's insulting, whether you meant it to be or not.

All I was saying was that in the theoretical situation where you only had the option of hiring people that are decent but comitted, or hiring pros that are just going to one-off something, I'd take the decent but comitted, cause maybe they'll get better with practice.

This conversation was never meant to be taken and applied literally. Obviously you're never going to have to make the distinction. I was merely expressing how the importance of job applications extends far beyond testing skill, depending on who you're applying to.
