Since they want everyone to start using the scripted stuff anyways....who knows. Maybe it would be too much hassle to take the virtual machine doing the scripting out and put into the editor. It also would lack serverside.

What they should do is set up the sandbox server for everyone (like a test wiki) much like what has been suggested here and in many threads before this.

No serverside functionality. It did fully support clientside though... which is more than enough to get someone to a great start on learning.

I had expected that all scripts just acted like they were clientside.
Still, that's better than nothing.

The GScript support in the original editor predates serversideness, where the clientside could do whatever it wanted. You could not do the actual serversidish things like with(getnpc()).

I think they should have it, but idk. It might be something to do that:
To be able to script GS2 = Need to have a server = $$$$ for Graal.
It takes a lot of time to script a server = Might need to re-pay the server = $$$$ for Graal

The less they know, the longer it will take them to finish the server.
If GS2 would be able in Graal Editor, then I think many people would finish almost all the scripts for their server BEFORE buying a server.
Graal simply would lose money.

Uh .. any good scripter would script all there stuff ON the server, not somewhere else and then transfer it. Otherwise, it's pretty hard to debug.

That is retarded. If people can finish servers faster, you get more of them, and thus more people paying for actual accounts.

A mediocre scripter might do that.

A good scripter would type all his code into notepad. While blindfolded and engaged in intellectual discussion with his peers. And then copy it to the server on the release day.

Yeah. You really can't finish a server offline. Not the scripting part anyway. Although if there was an offline gs2 editor, it would be a lot easier to learn, so you could get a server and do something with it (instead of wasting the first few weeks learning).

No, I used to write code on a notepad and copy it when I came home. Not very complex stuff though.
Why fight an offline gs2 editor anyway? There's really no way to learn without it. Sure, you can get a server, but I doubt any more than one or two people would ever get a server to learn.
