Yeah, never save as JPG or JPEG, it destroys the image completly.

Definitely not true in all cases. If you save in JPEG with max quality (12), the images portrays very nicely. The first two screen shots were rendered with Photoshop and saved as JPEG. If you ask me, they look great.

I don't really like any of the graphics other than the house tbh

ps: what are those brown circle things in the water and the silver circle things on the grass

Doesn't look too bad.

The water is catching my eye though, doesn't seem to match the rest of the level at all. And it seems like you're just throwing in trees to fill up space. I understand you're going for that forest feel, but try to put a little for variety in. (I'm sure you will, as this is only one level)

Thoughts and graphics on Aurora

Yeah, it’s kind of like Shaun of the Dead in that it has a lot of personality to it and doesn’t take itself too seriously. At the same time it is a zombie server so it will have some dark elements in some parts. Even Shaun of the Dead was serious like at the end.

My view on Aurora is that it will be pretty story oriented in that you have to unlock new major areas to progress through the game, but at the same time it’s open so you don’t feel trapped. One thing that I really want to do with Aurora is make it obvious what your suppose to do and make it fun and challenging, unlike a lot of Graal servers where you wander aimlessly sometimes. We may be adding places in the story/world like abandoned neighborhoods, graveyards with ghouls, boondocks, wastelands, sewers, sanctuary, mines, bunker, pirate lagoon, castle/fortress, subways, etc. all of which you will be most likely prone to baddies and may have a large impact on the storyline.

And also it includes other monsters as well, not just zombies, most of the baddies should probably be thought of like Resident evil type thing where a bunch of people are possessed and you have to do something about it.
I don’t want to say too much but we have planned some quests; a lagoon area with pirate ships so this will take advantage of the “stealth” skill where you sneak by guards, or hide under barrels to sneak aboard ship. Here you can obtain some new weapons like a cutlass or pirate gold.
Another one is an alien oriented quest. You beam aboard a ship and you excavate their ship and can find some high-tech chests and weapons here, but you have to fight off alien shipmen. One particular item you can gain in the ship is alien clothing which disguises you on the mother ship. Eventually you have to take control of their ship. When you get to the command room, you have the option to either fly home or fly to the mother ship.

most of these are potential Events

“Zombie outbreak”- kind of like “plants vs. zombies” and zombie mod in “counter-strike source”
Some possible arenas

Sewer
Neighborhood- You and your buddy’s defend yourself inside a house or other enclosed place, using weapons (grenades, ak47s, crowbars), barricades (couches, soda machines, desks, tables, bookcases, filing cabinet, chairs) if someone is attacked by a zombie, they become infected and join them to defeat the humans.

Parking garage
Box Factory
Power plant
Graveyard
Hotel
Jail
Library
