dylan has a spectacular aura about
Mac RC - Multiple Windows

Hi,

As of now, one cannot open a new RC window (to connect to two servers at once) on Mac without opening another instance of the application.

Most applications (such as FireFox) have this option readily available to open a new window if you right-click the app icon or navigate through the toolbar.

RC on the other hand? Not so fortunate.

One can get around this limitation by using the Terminal command of open -n ~/"Library/Application Support/Graal/RC/RC.app", depending on where your RC app folder is located. This solution, however, looks odd, disorganized, and inefficient on my dock.

Is there any chance this will be added in the future?

Thanks for that tip, I didn't know!

The Mac RC is a near-pure GTK build compiled against gtk-quartz and actually does not really implement any Cocoa bindings that would enable that kind of functionality, hence why the odd behaviour of quitting altogether when you close the main window, no menu bar items or window contexts within the Dock etc.

It would be quite a lot of work to modify the RC to work like a typical Mac application does and probably require a lot of time that Stefan and unixmad are not willing to dedicate - it took us long enough just to get the RC compiled for OS X at all.

Didn't even think about how RC was almost all compiled in gtk... My bad.

Guess it's time to bust out Xcode and work on a personal src.

Edit:
On second note, obj-c is the devil and I'll just go retreat into my dark abyss at the bottom of the ocean once again.

You can put open -n ~/"Library/Application Support/Graal/RC/RC.app"
in a file and put it in the dock, can even copy the RC icon from the RC
