takes 2 post to post this gigantic wall, i didnt know there was a character limit here.
NYG @ KC
Winner:Giants
What's with this string of easy games to call? The outcome is obvious here, the Giants simply have more talent in just about every position on the field, especially the defense. I can see the Giants holding the Chiefs under 10 points feasibly in this game, and if they dedicate themselves to the running game this week, they can control the time of possession game as well and further control this game.

BUF @ MIA
Winner:Bills
A bit better on the difficulty here. However, losing Pennington is a big blow to this offense of Miami. I don't see their backups lighting up the field to the extent the Bills will be able to. The Dolphins will help themselves if they use their running game to their advantage and milk the play-action for all its worth. This game can easily go Miami's way if they do well with keeping the Bills' defense guessing using playaction fakes and Ronnie Brown provides an extremely strong running game. However, I just don't see the Dolphins having a decent aerial attack while the Bills have the potential to be explosive with theirs. Again, it could go the Dolphins way if they have a strong game on every facet, but having their backups playing as well as Pennington would be able? Nah, Penne didn't have a good game, and Thigpen needs time to learn how Miami operates and to generate chemistry with the receivers.
NYJ vs NO
Winner:Saints
This is very very hard to call. The Jets are an extremely strong team, but the Saints are stronger(should be, anyway, you never know what will happen on game day). The Jets will have a good game on D and be able to slow Brees down a bit compared to the other teams. However, it won't stop him from reaching the end zone, either with his arm or Pierre Thomas/Mike Bell. From there on out, Sanchez will most likely find himself working from behind, not exactly a situation good for a rookie QB in the beginning of the season. Both teams will need to play hard and make sure they are doing the right things.

For the Saints, they need to be able to establish the running game and EARLY, else Brees will have difficulties trying to air it out against a very formidable Jets D(I think they're near top 5 in most defensive categories). Jets will need to be able to do the same, and Sanchez will have to maintain composure as a rookie if he finds himself constantly 1 or 2 scores down. Otherwise, the Saints will be able to easily get an INT or 2 if he acts like Jay Cutler did in week 1 and tries to force plays. This is going to come down to just how strong Rex Ryan has built this Jets defense, as well as Sanchez being able to continue to show a minimum of rookie decisions and mistakes. However, I just see the Saints having too much firepower for Sanchez to be able to match. The Jets offensive unit isn't exactly a high scoring and consistently explosive unit, it is a very defensive team. Plus I don't think Sanchez has found himself in a large scoring deficit yet, and the Saints can certainly make it happen if they can put points up relatively often vs the Jet's D.

STL @ SF
Winner:49ers
Easy here again. Bulger is injured, and Boller takes away in the accuracy department where he adds in the mobility department. SF should be able to dominate on defense and shut down the Rams' offense(home crowd of SF wont help things for the Rams on offense either). Only thing I worry about is the SF running game without Gore. However, in the end, the SF defense and special teams should be able to fill in for that for the W. Further ruining Crabtree's holdout, as SF, with the exception of a close week 3 game against the Vikings, continually proves that they really don't need the greedy first round pick anyway.

DAL @ DEN
Pick:Cowboys
Dallas found their running game this week. Hopefully they can stick to it and establish it again here against a strong denver run defense. Dallas has 3 talented RB(2 healthy ones) for a reason. As long as Romo doesn't melt down again(if it happens, it will probably be Romo throwing questionable passes in the direction of the receiver that Champ Bailey lines up on, which shouldnt be a problem since that WR core of Dallas has a lot of talented players), the Cowboys should have little difficulty putting up a lot more points than Orton and Broncos can respond with.

SD vs PIT
Pick:Chargers
This is going to be an aerial battle in this game.
The Chargers have had their ups and downs, losing LT and However, Rivers should have no problem picking apart the Pittsburgh pass defense, which have been weakened significantly with the loss of Troy Polamalu in the safety position. Rivers should have enough time in the pocket to find areas to put the ball, and with his stellar accuracy and power, he should have little problems setting up a drive in the air. On the other side of the ball, the offensive line just sucks for Pittsburgh. Due to the lackluster o-line, Big Ben is well on his way to getting sacked another 50+ times this season. Having a bad offensive line also has killed the running game for Pittsburgh. No matter Big Ben's inspiring ability to always be under pressure yet still find ways to get the ball down-field in the air and make plays, will not be enough to keep the Steelers in this one. Neither team has much of a running game, however it comes down to Rivers just being under less pressure and having the ability to put the ball where he wants it. While I commend Roethlisberger's ability to keep things going while constantly getting hit, he will continue to lose games because the game is always left on him, and he doesn't simply have enough comfort in the pocket to make as many plays as he is able to. The Steelers have already lost very close aerial games and almost lost against the Titans, against teams with a weaker aerial attack than the Chargers, and even put up better passing yardage in each game with the exception of the Bears.

The Steelers need to fix the o-line so they can start running the ball up the middle and provide Roethlisberger much needed time, combined with a healthy Polamalu to assist again with a now weakened pass defense. Or else games like this will be a struggle to win and will keep 'middle of the road' teams(Bears sup) in the game against the defending Super Bowl champs.

Make that 3 posts.

Monday:
GB @ MIN
Winner:Too many deciding factors to call.
Honestly, I don't want to call this one. Obviously the Pack is my home team, but theres going to be a lot of factors we just can only take a stab at, that will decide this game in the end. My head says Vikings win but my gut says Packers pull it out:

1.Can Dom Capers bottle up AP without constantly stacking the box?

This is key for the Packers. If they can't keep the running game of the Vikings in control, this game is lost. If you can't bottle up AP, you either get ran on all day or be forced to stack the box and leave themselves open to 1 on 1 coverage, which Favre can attack easily using the speed of his WRs to get an edge on the pro bowl corner tandem, using his knowledge about his former teammates, Harris and Woodson, against him. However, if AP gets bottled up enough, Favre will have to take shots into coverage. This is not what Favre wants to do with corners that have practiced with him for several years, and know his tendencies and will exploit it the best they can.

Dom Capers has proved he can stop the run, but not on a consistent basis.
He was able to completely lock down the explosive Bears RB, Matt Forte, but could not do the same against Cedric Benson the following week. They only did marginally better against the powerful Steven Jackson last week. They started off strong, constantly tackling Jackson in the backfield, but that didn't hold 100% of the time, allowing Jackson to eat up chunks of yardage and plow into the second level as the game went on.
Will he able towin the chess match against Peterson and Favre? Maybe, maybe not, we will have to watch to find out, though I would imagine it will start out good, as usual. Expect Capers to mask his plays extensively vs. the experienced Favre. If Favre is able to read the packers defense, it will be a long day for them, as Favre is one of the best when it comes to reading defenses before the snap and adjusting the play accordingly. If Capers is able to lock up Peterson at least long enough for Rodgers to get a significant lead going, it will help the Packers immensely in walking away with a W. Putting Favre behind will force Favre to air out the ball with a sense of urgency to catch up, putting him in the gunslinger situation. SF's secondary struggled locking Favre up when he started to air it out, especially in the second half. However, the secondary of GB is much more experienced and much more talented to create turnovers when a QB is forced to line up in the shotgun very other play and try to put the ball down the field. Shutting down AP is vital, otherwise, the capers defense will become predictable, which is one of the main strengths of that defensive scheme, as shown on Cutler. With the inability to read the defense, Favre will not know if there's pressure coming, how much if so, and from which directions. Without having an idea on the defense and whats vs whats dropping back into coverage, Favre's years of experience just aren't that useful as they need to be to consistently score and avoid turnovers.

2. For the other side of the ball, there's a couple questions. By far the most important question is the status of the Packers offensive line.

Clifton's return after his ankle injury is unknown until later this week when practices come. If he was to return, it would increase the performance of the struggling offensive line greatly. They have been improving slowly after the disasters earlier in the season with the Bengals, allowing 2 sacks against the Rams compared to the eariler 4 and 6 against the Bears and Bengals respectively. This will further be tested by the Williams wall.

The more the o-line performs well, the more options Rodgers has. Even with no options other than to scramble constantly to stay off the ground and then throw down the field into coverage, Rodgers has proved he can still put points on the board 1-dimensionally without having a single turnover this year. Amazing that he can do this, but this is not where the packers want to be again and it will make these difficult games hard to win. With a good offensive line, the running game opens up for Ryan Grant down the middle, which he excels at, rather than either getting stuffed up the middle or being forced to run outside. With protection and a running game to open up the playaction, Aaron Rodgers will be unstoppable, being able to pound the ball with Grant, throw quick receptions to one of the best WR cores in the NFL, and use the playaction to find gennings deep and force Favre to constantly answer the scores of the Packers explosive offense with his arm, not something the Vikings want to have to do, risking turning the ball over on a forced throw.

In summary, theres too many unknowns for me to call this game. It could go largely in any direction. If the offensive line is good enough to create gaps for Grant and protect Rodgers in the pocket, the Packers offense will be ridiculously explosive. However, if they have that and are missing the run defense, this will be a very high scoring shootout for both teams. Vice versa and it will be a low score game similar to the CHI @ GB game of week 1.

If the Packers are unable to do either, the Vikings will be in control of the game(and clock), and Rodgers would have to rely on his accuracy along with the skill of his receivers to make plays and at least stay in the game and keep the lead by the Vikings low. Not very likely to win that situation.

We'll see how it turns out, but I have a hunch that this game is going to be a close shootout.

Right after the CTF league website, GC Website, and whatever else you had unfinished.

BTW, the Stafford effect is kicking in. Lion's will be the golden boys.

Lions won't be much until they invest in their defense next year. ever wonder why lions always blow the leads their offense gives them?
they cant defend vs the passing game. should have figured that out against the saints.
Also Stafford needs to learn to find Calvin Johnson in man coverage more, the guy is 6' 6" and can jump to insane heights ON TOP of is height.

throw it a little high and let calvin johnson go up and grab it above the coverage.

edit: they have some nice foundations so far in the offense, but this is a team that needed work in pretty much every area and position.
you got the qb, some good WR's, Kevin Smith is a good RB, other than that, not much else there for the lions.
still need to invest in the o-line to get stafford more time, especially being a starting rookie QB on an unfinished team, he needs all the time he can get, also allows you to run kevin smith better, creating better holes for him in between the tackles, which improve the passing game and allows stafford to accomplish more as a gunslinger mentality QB.

then you need to invest in a good pass rush to start putting more pressure on the QBs and creates more havoc in the backfield.

after that, maybe some dbs or lbs, but you'd have to see where you are after developing a decent d-line that can put good pressure on the QB. either with LBs for helping create more pressure or stopping the run, or better defensive backs to further bolster the pass defense.

off to a good reconstruction so far, have some weapons on the offense already, but this is going to take a couple offseasons to build the lions into a competitive team.

edit2:As long as the Lions improve each year on their W-L record, I'd call it a successful year.
already 1 up on last years season and there's a couple games left in the schedule that you have a good chance in picking up a W(Rams, Browns). 3-13 is a hefty improvement over 0-16 in the course of one season

i provide a rundown on matchups, which are key to fantasy football success.
this information has already helped folks like xaphan make informed decisions about they're fantasy roster(read his previous posts).

after seeing some odd rosters from this classic team already, like the person who picked Favre for fantasy stats, his main job is to give AP the ball and throw passes when they need him to, last week they needed him to do it, so he started slinging and came up on top rather than an int.
his performance is inversely proportional to AP's ground success, so against run stopping defenses vs the Vikings, favre has the potential to rack up decent stats as long as the pass defense isnt as tough or tougher. for instance, if the vikings played the dolphins, start favre, they rank 3th in the league against rushing, yet are 26ths in the league against the pass.

for this week, things you can pick up from my analysis of week 4:

-ravens defense will probably get attacked in the air vs brady and his formidable crew of receivers, not a lot of stats to be had for anyone who owns Ravens D, unless they manage to fluster brady enough, pressure him out of his pocket, and force him into making some bad throws. possible but not very likely.

-the giants d have an excellent matchup this week, facing a Chief's offense that will have its work cut out against the powerhouse defense of the giants.

-however those with Bears D.(vs Lions), 49ers D(vs Rams), Bengals D(vs. Browns), Houston D(vs. Raiders, JaMarcus tends to throw worse each week, a few picks are _possible_ for Houston).

-for QBs, Sanchez could be a risk this week, facing a high scoring offense could pressure him into some bad throws if he ends up behind by a couple scores.

-Drew Brees may possibly have a risky statistical day vs the jets on the flipside, the jets have a tough D, I expect Brees to outscore the Jets, but it may cost him his QB rating from possibly interceptions and low completion ratings stuggling to find open receivers.

-Brady could face the same fate against the Raven's D through the air.
i expect him to get 200-300 yards and a couple TDs or so, but possibly a couple interceptions or incompletes in the process, though less likely than the Brees matchup.

-Peyton Manning should have another fantastic stat week against an overranked Seahawks D, they managed to get 9th place in the league in pass defense on the browns mostly, earning a shutout in week 1. Cutler showed us last week a good QB can pass just fine against Seattle, which means Peyton should have an even better week than Cutler had last week.

-if anyone has kerry collins, he should have a decent week against jacksonville despite the titans 0-3 start.

-look for Joe Flacco to get safeties to bite on playaction fakes and throwing it long to his capable receivers. shouldn't have difficulty racking up decent yards on NE.

as for WRs, TEs, and RBs...:

For WR's:
I like Randy Moss(I definitely like him if Wes Welker is still out, Moss would have to help make up for his absence).

Reggie Wayne will be getting attention from Peyton Manning this week.

The other Manning brother will be looking for emerging star WR Mario Manningham this week

Bengals should put up some yardage this week, Ochocinco(WR) should have a good day.

I also feel Jason Campell will be looking for his favorite target, Santana Moss(WR), this week.

For TEs: Romo has been looking pro-bowl TE Jason Witten more and more as the season progresses, no reason he won't be looking for him this week as well.
and
Another Colt, TE Dallas Clark is rapidly becoming one of Mannings favorite targets other than Wayne, look for him to get a few balls thrown his way this week.

RBs:
The Bills may not have to worry about the passing game of Miami after losing Pennington, but they will have to worry about Ronnie Brown(RB) on the ground. Look for him to probably be the only Dolphin that has a decent day this week.

The Browns will have an extremely difficult time dealing with Cedric Benson(RB) of the Bengals this week.

Look for the 49ers to rush with backup Glen Coffee(RB) in place of Frank Gore, while the backup, the 49ers still like to maintain a balanced offense, they're still not comfortable with the thought of Shaun Hill(QB) trying to drive this offense down the field with just his arm, the Rams could have difficulties trying to take him down.

Fred Jackson(RB), of the Bills should be able to remain solid against a Miami rushing defense that is the 3rd worst in the league.

Players with Bad Matchups this week:

New Orleans Saints RB's Mike Bell(if healed up) and Pierre Thomas will most likely have difficulties trying to run the ball against a tough Jets D., especially with having starter Bell suffer a knee injury eariler. The Saints seem relatively comfortable putting the game in Brees's arm, so don't be surprised if they don't pay much attention to the ground game.

Watch out for the Cowboy's running back trio in Marion Barber(RB), Felix Jones(RB), and Tashard Choice(RB). Barber and Jones are tending to injuries, leaving only a healthy Tashard Choice. If Barber and Jones are limited next week due to injury, look for Dallas to be more conservative with the running game, and avoid rushing their RBs when possible. I doubt Wade Phillps and Jerry Jones want to risk further injuries to an ailing RB corps.

Remember, Frank Gore(RB) of the 49ers is still out of action until next week due to injury. However, he should be able to pick up where he left off in week 5 on a weak Falcons defense provided his injury isn't affecting him by then.

With SD @ PIT, both Darren Sproles(RB) of the Chargers and Willie Parker(RB) will have difficulties carrying the ball this week. They have been struggling rushing the ball as it is, and both teams have solid defense against the run.
As I said before, this is going to be a war in the air.

Chiefs' Larry Johnson(RB) will struggle rushing against the Giants' #2 ranked rush defense this week.

---
Probably missed a few matchups, I'm tired.
Don't worry about Kevin guys, he is probably just mad because I bet his roster looks terrible.

DC what about Tony Gonzalez and how Matt Ryan couldn't get a good pass to him (except 1 small pass) which made Gonzalez suck.

I'm not worried about them this week, the Falcons have their bye week this week.

As for their performance, their running game imploded with Michael Turner struggling. They faced two weak teams the first 2 weeks, so their 2-1 record is a bit misleading. They have issues on both sides of the ball to work on, but in week 3, once your running game is down for the count, theres no reason to have a TE go out for passes when you commit yourself to the passing game. TE's usually run routes when you have a balanced offense going, since they're blocking for the running plays. It makes for a good formation for a play-action pass or standard passing play from center. Otherwise, if you're going to the air for the most part like the Falcons, its better to throw another WR instead of a TE, since you're not really fooling anyone with your TE formations if you can't run the ball.

I know that.
I'm not really putting down your roster, it will be solid for this week especially, a lot of those players have good matchups in week 4.

Oslen was just a disappointment this year in fantasy, not even his fault too. Noone expected the Bears to struggle with the running game this much. Cutler was originally supposed to compliment the Bears solid running game with the threat of the deep ball and play-action strikes, not carry the team with his arm.
Oslen will continue to struggle for you while the offense lacks dimension for the Bears, however it should be a solid week for that roster, though I don't know who your defense is.

well if we were looking on paper and statistics, the Vikings would be an easy favorite to win. however, anyone who follows the nfc north rivalry games know to throw statistic and logic out the window when these teams meet.

mystic should know this all too well, the Lions blew a ton of 4th quarter leads over their rivals last season, all the NFC North teams nearly gave the hapless Lions a W late in that season

I have Brees, but I wouldn't say I was ridiculously stacked. Aside from scoring 100 points last week.

I'm definitely going to have to get in on this fantasy action next season. Shouldn't have procrastinated on signing up .
Wish I could pick from the pool of undrafted players, would be a ton of fun to see what I could piece together from the dumpster.

I just assumed they blew off every game last season.

Stafford is still a giant step up in that position for the Lions.

what happened to all the football talk.
this is a perfect time to make fun of mystic about the lions and his fantasy QB status with one injured rookie and one rookie putting up stinkers the last few games.

It's no fun when there's somebody not trying. Get another QB.

I don't know why you would draft two rookie QBs in the first place. They're going to make rookie mistakes. Trade for whoever was trading Aaron Rodgers before Glad gets him.

PS Mystic do not get Drew Stanton or Dante Culpepper

Anyway, for Week 7. Been hard to make any picks lately though, the NFL has been quite unpredictable this season:

GB @ CLE
Winner: Packers
As if the Browns didn't have enough trouble this season, now they have a flu outbreak. Aaron Rodgers should be able to pick apart the secondary here, it will be made tough though if the offensive line continues to be porous. Anyone who has Aaron Rodgers, Greg Jennings, Donald Driver(had an amazing grab on the Lions last week) or god forbid Ryan Grant for some unknown reason should look to start them on this terrible Browns defense.

SF @ HOU

Winner: 49ers
Should be a good and close game. I give it to the Niers in the end though. Coach Singletary is all about discipline, which they didn't show in the Atlanta game. He's had the bye week to drill into them about week 5 and Frank Gore is expected to play.

SD @ KC
Winner: Chargers
After a frustrating loss to the Broncos, Rivers should have a field day on the Chief's weak pass defense.

IND @ STL
Winner: Colts
Durrrrr. We should instead be betting on if the Rams bother to show up. This should be a massacre, but hey, look at what the Raiders did last week.

NE vs.TB @ Wembley Stadium, London
Winner: Patriots
Brady seems to look better in every game. Granted he had it easy in that ridiculous game that put the Titans on suicide watch. I am kind of disappointed we are showcasing a game to Britain that just looks like its gonna be a blowout. Have fun Xaphan!

MIN @ PIT
Winner: Steelers
The Steelers have turned into a formidable passing team now and have the talent at QB and WR to do it effectively. The Vikings secondary has already been weak as it is, now they may lose their strongest player in the secondary, Antoine Winfield, who is questionable with an ankle sprain. The loss of Antoie Winfield means Jared Allen will have to have his best game of the season and keep Big Ben on the ground, and it isn't like he isn't used to getting sacked. The Steelers D has some holes as compared to last season but they still have one of the top defenses in the league especially vs. the run, second to only the Vikings, so they shouldn't have too much trouble keeping Peterson to another average game, forcing Favre to battle it out with
Ben Roethlisberger in the air.(this is the most iritating player name to type) This game will come down to the play of the defensive lines and linebackers. Throwing one of the best home field advantages into the mix, I like the Steelers to end the Vikings win streak in Hienz Field. Start Ben Roethlisberger for this one.

BUF @ CAR
Winner: Panthers
This should be a no brainer. Panthers are getting hot on their running game with over 260 yards rushing last week. The Bills allowed the Jets to gain OVER 300 YARDS RUSHING, they are the worst rushing defensive team in the league. Considering this game will be a low scoring ground game, neither one of these teams is clicking in the passing, you can see where this game is going to go. If someone has DeAngelo Williams this week, start him now.

NYJ @ OAK
Winner: Jets
I am trusting that Sanchez and the Jets have learned their lesson this week. I am hoping to see a Jets offense that relies more on their two great running backs in Thomas Jones and Leon Washington so Sanchez can redeem himself with some safer, more high percentage throws. It would be in his best interest in his career to be more careful with the ball anyway after that 5 INT performance last week. It should be safe to start him this week Mystic, not like you have a choice unless you trade, he won't have mind-blowing stats this week, but he shouldn't repeat the same mistakes this time, unless hes the next coming of Ryan Leaf.

CHI @ CIN
Winner: Bears
I was up in the air completely about this game until I head about the Bengals losing Odom for the season. He was a large asset in the Bengals defense. Without him, I can't see them being able to pressure Jay Cutler enough to knock him out of rhythm with his speedster WRs and make mistakes. Jay Cutler is a decent start this week and Matt Forte still is doing terrible. I would be wary to start Cedric Benson this week, he's got a lot of beef with his former team here, and if he lets that cloud his mind too much...
Plus, Chicago has a top #10 rushing defense.

ATL @ DAL

Winner: Cowboys
This is a tough one considering how these teams have been playing lately, I might regret this pick too. I just like Dallas's running back corps as well as starter rookie WR Miles Austin, the Boys will need another big game out of Austin this week. This is a must win game for this team, Wade Phillips will not have a job at the end of the season if he goes .500 or less, this is a team with a history of winning and thats what Jerry Jones expects out of this team that he just built the Taj Mahal of stadiums for. If Tony Romo continues to be inconsistent, there will be questions on if he is this franchise's QB after all. I'm seeing a shootout and a temporary relief of Gladius's rising anger in his team.

NO @ MIA
Winner: Saints
Wildcat ftw!?!?! No.
An explosive offense that easily dismantled the Giants defense last week? Yep.
I stick by my claim that the Saints are Superbowl bound.

ARI @ NYG
Winner: Giants
The Cards have to strike fast and often to have a shot. The Giants D needs to decide to show up this week at home. In the end, I don't think the Cardinals have a consistent enough offense to keep a decent lead and the Giants running game shut down.

PHI @ WAS
Winner: Eagles
I really can't see the Eagles dropping two in a row to teams that are completely self-destructing this season. If the Eagles lose to the Raiders AND the Redskins in back to back games, I wouldn't even bother coming back to Philly if I were them
