just did a fresh install of v6 v6.035 and my playerlist wont open unless i use the internal playerlist. when using the internal playerlist the image for it is broken and i cannot move it. i am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit OS. the graal system tray icon is also broken for me. i am now noticing that i also cannot open f3, it worked earlier but now its not.

When you boot Graal go to options and disable OpenGL. Close Graal then open it again, log onto a server, and try opening the playerlist. If it still doesn't work try downloading V5, run it, log on a server and open the playerlist, close the entire client, and then open Graal V6 and try opening the playerlist.

well, switching back from opengl to directx fixed my playerlist issues and my system tray icon problem, but now i have to deal with the the laggier feel of directx.i do like the new skin in this beta though. Crono, did u just tell me to install v5 while v6 was still on my computer? if so that shouldnt ever be considered a way to fix something. if installing an old version while the new version is installed will fix problems with the new version then that is just nonsense lol. everything should always be deleted from your hard drive and registry and freshly reinstalled, doing this should guarantee everything works peachy as long as your directx and opengl arent broken and your visual runtimes are in good shape. id like to note i have used v5 and have updated to v6 from within the client. the v6 version i played when updating from within v5 felt differently input/lag wise than a fresh install of v6 did. why? lol. this game should only require hardware on par with a nintendo 64 to run lol. you need to hire someone who is a master at scripting in windows. linux is irrelevant and will never be what windows or mac is. ever.

found another bug. when having the "external" playerlist open in v6 in directx mode you cannot "dock" the playerlist without losing the "x" out button on the playerlist. hitting f7 again will undock it and give you the "x" out button back though

When I did it I un-checked OpenGL but didn't restart my client so the playerlist still didn't work. Then I went back on V5. Later on I went on V6 and saw my playerlist work so I didn't know if it was OpenGL or just re-opening V5.

The problem is with OpenGL.

I don't have any performance issues, I wonder what the specs are for those who experience issues with DirectX (something like every game out there uses) and Graal.

not sure why graal lags for me crono, heres my specs

windows 7 ultimate x64 service pack 1
ati radeon hd 5770 pcie 2.0 gfx w/ amd 12.11 beta 4 driver installed
amd phenom II x6 2.8ghz cpu

not sure of my exact RAM and HD names/specs but i know theyre fine because i've ran test programs for them. i can currently run modern warfare 3, dishonored and rage on full graphics settings with vsync off, sometimes i need toturn shadows off too but i always achieve frames in the 100s with these games. graal shouldnt lag for me lol my computer is in nice shape.

You can drag the window away from the border to undock it.

What kind of lag is it? Is it smooth for a while and then suddenly FPS drops, followed by smoothness again? This used to happen to my laptop and I never figured out the problem. Same exact o/s as my PC, same HD speed (5400rpm, don't ask why my main gaming PC had that), same GFX brand (nvidia at the time, now it's amd but I have no problems), and both have over 2GB of ram.

Very strange issue. :[

I don't know if it's been addressed yet, but it's kind of annoying not being able to set or enable the fullscreen resolution there's a drop-down box for in the options menu.

I don't want to see it dropped as an option, because right now players are tiny and I can't change or enable it with the newest version.

Put in the levels/guistyles folder and restart Graal, then it will show in the list.
The fullscreen resolution is only available with DirectX mode.

my game runs smooth until these things happen

- if i run without having my screen move, meaning as if i had /focus on during a spar or something my lag is fine, but when my screen moves as i run my frames drop.

- the cooldown timer on zodiac causes fps drops

- hovering my mouse over a play while moving cause a fps drop

- pretty much any heavy npc/effect spam causes huge lag, like 10fps

idk man i had graal 5 running fine on a pentium 3 700mhz 192mb ram nvidia something 32 mb gfx card on windows xp pro just fine lol. youtube would never quit lagging though .

Something that'd be cool to try and fix is when you lock your computer with graal open, it locks up the game, so when you unlock your computer you have to restart the client. I don't know if others find this annoying but I do. It'd be cool to see it finally fixed espcially if it's just something simple.

The playerlist and options window should work better now. It now destroys the playerlist and options window when the OpenGL/DirectX mode is switched, and it prevents wrong values of the playerlist position. In the next release we will also try fix the destruction/switching of the windows.
If the playerlist is still not showing, then close Graal and delete scriptfiles/playerlistoptions.txt to clear all the playerlist options and stored position.

I noticed that you fixed the highlighting thing we had issues before, you go Stefan!

I don't know what the default style options are currently but you should make 'Default' the default in-game style, and vplusblue the default external style.

The theme FP4 posted should be the default external skin for Windows users. It will keep the players coming from v5 more happy.

Graal is not opening in the position that it previously was when re-opening it.

PM position is not saving after closing and re-opening Graal. (external)

Can't highlight the Level: text in player's profiles. (external)

Still have the weird bug where when you close external PM windows and playerlists background Windows will show instead of Graal. Like it's automatically alt-tabbing out of Graal or something.

Crono is not GM of Graal. :]]]

That one needs a lot of work (Scrollbar is ****ed, Weird Textbox/ComboBox Issues), I'm currently just using a modded vPlusBlue with the regular Windows buttons and tabs from the XP theme.

Not sure how many people know this or not but if you rename the wba to zip, you can go in and modify everything inside it. The lack of documentation makes it a pain and you pretty much have to brute-force different settings.

Going by first hand experience with complaints about a scripted hit detection with negligable differences to the built-in sword detection/recoil/blink etc, there'll probably be a lot of complaints if UDP is left out of V6 completely.

One thing I would suggest is looking into the whole password remembering thing. I frequently change connections between my home cable and my phone 4g, and to be honest whenever I load up Graal and see it has forgotten my password because I changed my connection between the two I simply close it. The fact that we can't pick our own passwords means whenever Graal thinks it needs to forget my password I need to go find where I have it stashed away, and that's a pain in the ass. Either remember the connections or stop purposefully forgetting passwords.

Nah, I have absolutely no interest in memorizing a random slew of case-sensitive letters and numbers for a game I barely play anymore, especially when this little precaution does absolutely nothing in terms of password protection(we all know social-hacking and phishing are the main means of obtaining passwords, and Graal makes this EASIER since many people just keep the e-mail saved for easy-access because they can't remember the ****ing password).

I have a cypher for mine. Before deciphering, my password is a profane word.

Agreed.

While I "appreciate" the provided password, I'd rather use my own password(s) then use forced upon passwords, for it interferes with my own system of memory.

By default I vote that the playerlist and pm windows be external.

It's all about GOOD FIRST impressions.

A new version has been uploaded: v6.036:
- the game doesn't lose focus anymore when you close some external windows
- added new scripting variables TServerPlayer.isblocking (default true) and TPlayer.isinvincible (default false) on client-side

Okay, so a couple of things that need to be done are:

- Fullscreen mode for Opengl

- Opengl as default

- Perhaps a dropbox for selecting fonts

- PROPER UDP support (ASAP or in the future)

I really should just say external windows in general aren't saving their position/size after closing. The playerlist is, though.
