They were at the very least 40minutes, but I guess ETs no longer need to be patient and watch the whole event, they'd much rather just spawn bots but I guess it's suppose to be fine since no one seems to remember how good a real event was.

Why host something with length when you can get impatient and abuse spawn bots and kill everyone.

Are you serious? Most dm matches on events the time is set for like 20 minutes? It doesn't even get close to ending. It's 10-15 minutes.

The max time that a Showdown can be set to is 1600 Seconds. 1600/60 = 26 minutes, 5 Minutes 30 Seconds of that time is spent in Dropship, so 20 minutes 30 seconds is max time of an in-game showdown match can last.

Now if the /setdeathmatchtime command can only go to 1600 seconds, how did we used to have 40 minute matches?

I should also add, that's just the Max time the showdown can be set to. Ever since I've been ET, ETs have been setting showdown time around 1200ish, sometimes lower. 1600 is more meant for hide and seek.

And finally, speaking as a player who participated in some of the first events ever hosted on Zone. No showdown has ever lasted that long.

You gotta stop making opinions based off what other people say... And Mr. I've hosted Many Events, shouldn't you have known that Showdown matches can only go to 1600 Seconds, and the time in dropship is counted in that time.

I love how you ignore the logic thrown at you xD.

I think I've spawned bots during a Showdown event... three times in total. Sue me.

Bots being spawned to quicken the event happens so rarely that it is hardly something to complain about xD. And since players have complained about it I've stoped doing it. (Unless ETs do it all the time and I'm not aware)

To be honest I think that the bots should be disabled and a new event be made that they are only enabled for. If people are complaining about them (and jesse other et's may be using them) then why not simply disable them and make a bot only planet where they can be enabled.

@jesse: you have hosted (or was it someone else) a few good spar bot survival events.

That's stupid imo. If you want a bot planet go ahead, taking the ability to spawn bots is freaking retarded. That's like taking away the ability to spawn bikes because we "already have a planet with them on there". Bots can be used for a few good things, and you never know when someone creative might come up with something good.

Bots are fun when used properly, though sometimes when used inappropriately it can be irritating and angers are few players. Saying this I'd prefer bots not being disabled, just used more productively.

@seanthien: If there are complaints about them being used for the wrong purpose then one of three things is going to happen (especially if Stefan see's thread).

1) They will be permanently disabled
2) It will be told to jesse to only make them allowable on a few trusted et's accounts
3) a new planet is made where they are only allowed to be used freely.

Rofl, and you know that how? It's not like ALL of zone is on the forums going "NO MAOR BOTZ!!!!!". The most that should be done is it should be used for better things Not sure if jesse did was the right thing or not, but if not i'm sure he can use it for more productive things. Making them disabled and a new planet would be just stupid right now.

@sean: you need to learn how to read english. I gave the 3 possible outcomes that would happen if stefan seen this and decided that they were being abused. Although it doesn't sound like they are anymore.

The only reason people love mass spawn bots when used properly is for the kills and the ranks.

Bot planet is stupid but spawning bots isn't, if a ET uses them responsibly then it can turn out quite fun. I think when hiring a ET you should be a question asking them how they will plan on using Bots, and if they abuse this power they should be suspended or fired.

What I was saying was only allow certain people who are trusted by Jkool to have access to the right, just like how only experienced ETs are allowed to have access to the /get right.

If /spawnbot was logged then it doens't matter as much if I do or don't trust someone with it, because I'll see them using it anyway ;P. So rather then make it add/removeable, maybe just Log it.

/get is the only command that can be taken/removed from ETs at the moment, and no I don't have the ability to do this.

The other commands CAN be taken away, but it's either all or nothing, I can't remove indivdual commands.

Log it then if people report them using bots for abuse, you'd have proof since if you can record the server time and the date and give it to you then it's simple.

Jo was quite an abusive ET. And thats just what I could see in-game without looking at the logs. Upon quitting he closed every planet and logged off xD.

@jesse: yeah well lets stop arguing lol. I actually enjoyed working for ya and I was actually meaning to defend you from earlier anyways. Its not easy being ETA as you can tell so many people. You should talk to dan or stefan about giving you the right to remove specific rights that way its easier.
